Glasses, bow tie and doggy ears for a theatrical performance

Muy buenas noches a todos. El día de mañana mi hijo tendrá una obra de teatro en la escuela en el cual debe representar a un “perro galán” realmente me pareció algo loco pero al mismo tiempo lo veo como una oportunidad para que mi hijo se desenvuelva un poco mas socialmente, además me alegra saber que lo tomaron en cuenta para esta obra, la maestra nos dijo que deben ir caracterizados como su personaje y realmente tuve un conflicto porque no tenia ni idea de como hacer que mi hijo se pareciera al perro del cuento jajaja, se me ocurrió tomar los aspectos más característicos del personaje y hacerlos yo misma, las orejas, la corbata y los lentes, fue bastante complicado ya que hice todo siguiendo mis instintos y a pesar de no ser lo mejor que haya hecho quedo bastante bien jajaja.

Tomorrow my son will have a play at school in which he must represent a “gallant dog” I really thought it was crazy but at the same time I see it as an opportunity for my son to develop a little more socially, plus I'm glad to know that they took him into account for this play, the teacher told us that they must be characterized as his character and I really had a conflict because I had no idea how to make my son look like the dog of the story hahaha, I thought of taking the most characteristic aspects of the dog and make them myself, the ears, the tie and the glasses, it was quite complicated because I did everything following my instincts and despite not being the best thing I've done it was pretty good hahaha.

Comencé realizando el dibujo sobre el foami de un rectángulo sin ninguna medida simplemente del tamaño que quería que fuese el lazo, lo recorte y luego hice cortes en curvas en cada esquina para que quedara un lazo con bordes ovalados, luego recorte un pedazo de foami mucho mas pequeño para que sea el nudo de la corbata.

I started by making a drawing on the foami of a rectangle without any measure, just the size I wanted the tie to be, I cut it out and then I made cuts in curves in each corner so that it would be a tie with oval edges, then I cut a much smaller piece of foami to be the knot of the tie.

Lo siguiente fue doblar dos veces en el centro para darle ese efecto de lazo, lo pegue con pegamento y luego coloque la tira en el centro cubriendo asi esa parte y dándole ese toque final al moño, tambien recorte una tira larga de foami negro y luego le coloque una cinta roja para que pueda amarrárselo en su camisa.

The next thing was to fold it twice in the center to give it that bow effect, I glued it and then put the strip in the center covering that part and giving that final touch to the bow, I also cut a long strip of black foami and then I put a red ribbon so she can tie it on his shirt.

Para las orejas tome un cintillo que utilizo normalmente para hacer cosas de arte, es amarillo, asi que tuve que pintarlo con pintura marrón, aplique unas 3 capas y deje secar, mientras se secaba empecé a dibujar la forma de las orejas en un foami blanco luego recorte las orejas y comencé a pintarlas de marrón, debajo de cada oreja deje un trozo de foami largo que me serviría para pegar las orejas en el cintillo, las pegues y luego comencé a añadir detalles con rojo y negro, dándole un poquito de sombras y color en la parte interna de las orejas.

For the ears I took a headband that I normally use to make art stuff, it is yellow, so I had to paint it with brown paint, I applied about 3 coats and let it dry, while it was drying I started to draw the shape of the ears on a white foami then I cut out the ears and started to paint them brown, under each ear I left a long piece of foami that I would use to glue the ears on the headband, I glued them and then I started to add details with red and black, giving a little bit of shadows and color on the inside of the ears.

Sobre un cartón dibuje dos círculos, me quedaron bastante desigual porque realmente hice todo a mano alzada, midiendo todo con mi hijo en frente de mi jaja, pero si pueden hacerlo con medidas quedaría mucho mejor, tambien dibuje la pata de los lentes midiendo el rostro de mi hijo, recorte todas las partes y las forre con foami negro, luego empecé a unir cada pieza hasta formar los lentes.

On a cardboard I drew two circles, they were quite uneven because I really did everything freehand, measuring everything with my son in front of me haha, but if you can do it with measurements would be much better, I also drew the leg of the glasses measuring the face of my son, cut out all the parts and lined them with black foami, then I started to join each piece to form the glasses.

Y eso fue todo, realmente intente ordenar lo mejor posible cada paso porque en el momento que estaba haciendo esto estaba haciendo todo al mismo tiempo, incluso siento que me faltaron fotos del proceso, pero fue bastante complicado con el poco tiempo que tenía, al final todo salió bien y espero que mañana él pueda hacer su obra sin problemas.

And that was it, I really tried to order as best as possible each step because at the time I was doing this I was doing everything at the same time, I even feel that I missed photos of the process, but it was quite complicated with the little time I had, in the end everything went well and I hope that tomorrow he can do his play without problems.
