The storyline of this move is one of the most absurd ones I have ever seen. I am usually not a fan of romance movies, but almost every colleague at work yesterday was talking about it so I decided to watch and see for myself and To be honest it was interesting even though I know I do not want to watch such a movie for a very long time again and I am reminded why I am not a fan of romantic genre. In a way the movie portrays why wealthy powerful men can have almost everything they want, even the ones money can’t buy and with all the romance drama, this movie carries a lot of lessons about power. The ability to do insanely absurd things and believe in one’s self so much that to those who do not know better it might even look offensive. To be honest I kinda like that kind of power.
The movie follows the story of a very successful woman whose relationship was already falling apart. She had traveled to Sicily with her boyfriend and other friends where she met a very wealthy and powerful Sicilian man who was more than in love with her. I would say it was more of an obsession than love or maybe that guy was just crazy LOL. It turned out he had seen her 5 years ago, and had been obsessed with her ever since then and had been looking for her with just the picture he had of her in his mind until he saw her five years later and would not take any chances of letting her go. His goal was simple: make her fall in love with him by any means necessary, bringing her into his chaotic world.
He told her that he would give her 365 days to fall in love with him while promising never to have sex with her unless it is what she absolutely wants. This alone shows how much of a control freak the guy is and she was hell bent on trying to escape from him but every attempt failed. Did I mention that he kidnapped her, oh yes he did and in those 365 days she was meant to stay with him and fall in love with him. I mean, what audacity. But then turned out their relationship went from hostile to complicated, and then to a love story. But then the love story begins to fight battles unknown… Overall the storyline is bold and captivating, the characters were insane and the movie was a good watch.
I have got another interesting movie to talk about. I found “Wicked” in the movie box while looking for a movie to watch.
Like everyone, I was curious when I saw the title of this movie; different imaginations raced through my mind concerning what the movie should look like, but I imagined it to be more of a film about a bad witch in a family or a community.
And that imagination was prompted by the poster; however, it turned out to be quite different from what I thought.
The Wicked was released in 2024. It was written by Winnie Holzman, Dana Fox, and Gregory Maguire. The movie was directed by Joe M. Chu, starring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, and Jeff Goldblum.
The movie runs for 2h 40m and the genres include: Musical, adventure, drama, and fantasy.
The film follows Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), a young lady born with green skin. Because of her green nature, she was despised and treated meanly by people.
Elphaba met Galinda (Ariana Grande) at Shiz University, a school for students born with supernatural gifts.
Galinda was a beautiful lady; she was loved by people and was quite popular. The two were brought together by fate, and although their personalities contradicted each other, they eventually became close friends.
They met Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) and the wonderful wizard of the city, Oz (Jeff Goldblum), who actually brought a separation between the ladies, as both of them chose a different path when it was time for them to use their magical powers.
Elphaba wanted to use her power for good, but her friend Galinda was consumed by the love of fame and so took a dangerous path influenced by Madame Morrible and the great wizard of Oz.
First, I must commend the costumes; the green color Cynthia Erivo wore as the character Elphaba made the movie interesting.
I must also recognize the emotional role she played. Cynthia gave the character Elphaba her best; she was able to give her the best emotions required in every scene, as expected.
Ariana Grande also made the movie quite interesting with her sense of humor and her beautiful songs. This also made the role she played as Galinda perfect.
The relationship between Elphaba and Galinda was also quite exceptional, as two casual people with different and contradicting personalities somehow managed to put their differences aside and become friends. The performance really caught my attention.
The cinematography, the music, and the background were top-notch, and I really can't get enough of it.
However, the length of this movie is too much. Not everyone has the patience to endure it for that long; sometimes when movies get that long, they become boring and, in the worst cases, add irrelevant things to the story or divert into something unnecessary.
Overall, the movie is good; it's one of the best I have watched. Wicked is a musical movie that explores friendship, music, the dangers of desiring fame at all costs, and also judging people by their outward looks.
The movie ends in suspense, so I am expecting a second version of the movie.
I am recommending this movie to those who love magical movies; in fact, “Wicked” blended different genres in a beautiful way. Both children and adults can watch it.
I watched a short clip of this movie some hours ago and it reminded me of a hidden gem I found, a special story that I had watched long ago. A movie that is based on a true life, a story of true inspiration, of someone becoming more than what anyone imagined except one trusted in God.
I remember how a few scenes made me feel so emotional watching this movie. Now I realized I've always loved biographies because of how real the stories feel and getting inspiration from them feels more intense and right. This is one of those biography that I'll call someone lived a great life, a life of inspiration and determination.
"Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story" is a biography, medical and drama movie released in the year 2009 starring Cuba Gooding Jr. as Ben Carson and Kimberly Elise as Sonya Carson. The movie was directed by Thomas Carter and written by John Pielmeier. It's medical movie worth seeing for many reasons which I will share.
First of all, I'll say a bit about the over all story. It is the story about a little boy who is struggling with his studies and tagged as dull but his mother who is single-handedly raising him sees more in him than what people say about him. Sonya, his mum gives him the courage to see the great things he can achieve as she supports him.
Amidst the many difficulties in his childhood, he works hard to become a doctor and faces a challenge where he have to operate two Siamese twins linked by the skull. The challenge gave him experience, built his faith and his brilliance gave him the power to change lives with that success.
My most memorable scenes were the ones in the clip I saw today, one where little Benson was mocked at in class when he failed all his answers. He got into a fight and his mother was summoned. Instead of fighting his wrong actions, his mother uses inspirational words to make him see that he isn't dull as they say, that he's smart.
That advice led Ben Carson into thinking more positively, putting in the work to study and he graduated as the best student then went to college to study medicine. One more scene I can not forget was where the devil wanted to use his anger issues to stop him from following his dream. He almost killed someone and learned.
How he chose to fight his anger issues, follow his dreams and become a doctor who did the first surgery of separating a Siamese twin successfully. He made a name for himself while changing the world with his brilliance. To think that this is based on a true story is a true inspiration, I'll recommend it if you're yet to see it.
Honestly I had no expectations from Resident Evil when I started watching it ir kaybe a bit. Because I was not really sure how much I would like or dislike that film. But sometimes, it is better to not have any expectations from the movie and be able to patiently watch the film and enjoy it for what it is.
My favourite thing would be the balance of the horror between some funny moments. Okay so, when I laugh the next moment I would be scared. Still I liked it so much I was excited about what was gonna appear next, hehe 😂
Okay so, there was a scene that scared me to death.

Bryan was looking through the window and I could see the lady running towards the house where he was. The scene already felt strange and I was watching carefully to see what was going to happen. I was focused on the lady and what was happening outside.
Then suddenly there was this guy behind him who attacked Bryan. It was a jump scare and it made me scream loudly 😭
My parents came running into my room thinking that something happened with me and when they knew it was because of a movie they were relieved but mad at me. My mom said, "You're insane" 😂
Anyway, they have perfectly made Bryan's character he is all clueless about the entity, that he had no idea what the hell was going on, he can't even shoot properly. So watching him struggle in every single scene was interesting for me as a viewer. He had to work at it couldn't just casually stroll through life.
Also, the movie did not take a pause or make it unnecessary lengthy and that made it not boring at all. I never felt like I was sitting around waiting forever for something to happen. There was always something going on screen and Bryan had to deal with it because of the circumstances.
There were some scenes which gave me a reminder of the the game so people who have played the game or seen live streams they would know this. Like searching for ammo, unable to open doors and gates, trying to find a way to escape, survive and others made it familiar to game. Although it was not necessary to have a great knowledge about the game in this movie to understand what was happening there.
I really got myself invested for Bryan and his story so, I was a bit disappointed in the end. At the beginning, I wanted to watch it because of the game but then I began to think about the main character and his survival.
I feel Bryan deserved one last chance. The poor guy already had been put through enough for that one night. I just wanted him to have breaks because he had suffered a lot and how could it all go in vain?
So, yeah when I started watching the movie and it did not dissapoint me instead I laughed, I was feeling good and got curious about our protagonist.
And yes... I'm gonna keep blaming that window scene for making me scream and scare my parents, hehe. 😂 But I still wish Bryan gets the antidote somehow and recover. Many people disliked it because it did not end on good terms, I also wanted to see more of the story but sadly we won't be getting any conclusion for that. Maybe we have to accept that not everyone is a survivor and we can't always expect the protagonist to survive because that's what happens in every story. I think writer and director wanted to avoid same storyline and for that reason they let his story end like that. Also, Bryan was not a character from the Resident Evil game but I think many of us wished he was a part of it because his character was more relatable to us.
So from my point of view, Resident Evil can be a good choice if you like survival horror movies. It's a brilliant movie just make sure not to scream loud like me, hehe. If you have a weak heart don't watch it because there are many jumpscare. I couldn't even finish my food because of some gross stuff on screen. And I would not recommend to watch it with kids because it's too bloody and disgusting. I watched this alone and got scared so better have a partner to watch with 🤣.

**Personal Opinion**: I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen it yet; it has a bit of everything—drama, suspense, action, and thriller elements. Studio MAPPA delivers impressive animation, and the music is very catchy. Each character brings something unique to the story, making it hard not to grow fond of all of them.
Suitable for ages 16 and up.

Sometimes, the most convincing lies are not the ones we tell other people but they are the ones we tell ourselves about who we are supposed to be and that was one of my biggest takeaways from Queen Lateefah, Wumi Toriola's 2024 nollywood drama-comedy movie which was directed by Adeoluwa Owu.
The movie shows Lateefah Adeleke, a street-smart woman from a very poor background who has created an entirely different identity for herself as a wealthy Lagos socialite and honestly, Lateefah is not pretending because she doesn't know the truth about herself. She really do know exactly where she came from. That is what makes her more character interesting.
Lateefah lives in a rough environment but presents herself as someone who belongs to a completely different social class. She borrows, improvises and carefully constructs an image that makes people believe she has money, connections and status. Her ultimate plan is simple and that is to find wealthy men, make them believe in the woman she has created before their eyes and benefit financially from them.
But then, she meets Jide Rhodes, played by Kunle Remi.
Jide is wealthy, successful and genuinely interested in Lateefah. But what starts as another opportunity for Lateefah gradually becomes complicated because, for the first time, emotions begin entering a situation she had carefully designed around money and this is where the movie changes from simply being about a woman living a fake life to something deeper. Hehehehehe love can be weird at times.
What happens when the person you planned on deceiving ends up becoming the person you actually care about?
Lateefah has spent so much time building an image that she eventually finds herself trapped inside it.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was the contrast between Lateefah's real environment and the glamorous world she presents. The movie did not hide the gap. Her background is constantly there, reminding us that behind the expensive appearance is a woman who grew up with very little and had to become extremely resourceful just to fit into the life she created for herself.
But the movie also raises an uncomfortable question about society. Why do people feel the need to pretend to be richer, more successful or more connected than they really are? Either offline or online especially on social media platforms. Is it simply greed or are we sometimes responding to a society that treats people differently based on what they appear to have?
Lateefah's problem is that she doesn't just want money but she also wants the identity that comes with money. She wants to be seen differently and perhaps that is why her lies became increasingly difficult to abandon like her shadow.
Wumi Toriola carries the movie very well. Lateefah is dramatic, clever, funny and frustrating, but there is also vulnerability underneath all that confidence. Her performance makes it possible to understand the woman behind the deception without necessarily excusing her choices.
Kunle Remi also works well as Jide because his character gives the story the emotional conflict it needed. His attraction to Lateefah is genuine, while her original intentions toward him are anything but for financial benefits.
The movie isn't perfect. Some of the dialogue feels overly polished for certain situations, and a few moments could have been paced better. The final act also moves rather quickly, especially after spending so much time building Lateefah's deception and the story isn't also that original but just worth a little twist to make it unique and I like what the movie was trying to say because sometimes, people don't fake a lifestyle simply because they want to deceive others. Sometimes, they are desperately trying to escape the version of themselves they have been taught to be ashamed of.
And that is what makes Queen Lateefah more than just another “rich girl” or “fake life” story. The real question isn't just why Lateefah lied but it's about what made the truth about herself feel so unacceptable to her in the first place?

This episode of 3% felt darker and much more psychological than the previous ones.
The tunnel test was simple in concept, but the darkness and uncertainty made it genuinely tense. What caught my attention the most was Joana. Until now, she has seemed incredibly tough and almost impossible to intimidate, but this episode finally gives us a glimpse of something from her past that still affects her.
I liked seeing that vulnerable side of her. It makes her feel more human and also raises a lot of questions about what she experienced before entering The Process.
Meanwhile, Ezequiel's unexpected visitor makes his story even more mysterious. There's clearly much more happening behind The Process than the candidates realize.
Three episodes in, I think the series is getting better at making each test reveal something about the characters instead of being just another challenge.
The movie's language is originally from India. I had to read the English subtitles while watching it. If you could go through the easy task of reading through the subtitles, you'll see it's worth your time.
The movie Sita Ramam is a romantic drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. I had to look up the Indian names more than three times to finally write it, but for this movie, it's worth the time. The movie is a story of empathy, humanity, and duty over nationalistic division.
The movie follows the story of a young girl called Afreen who is a rebellious and anti-Indian Pakistani student studying in London. She has developed a negative notion about Indians and suddenly nurtured a hatred for them. After the death of her father, she is tasked to deliver a 20-year-old letter to a woman named Sita in India as a condition to inherit her late father's estate. As Afreen traces Sita's identity, she uncovers the story of a lieutenant called Ram, an orphaned Indian army officer who was well respected for his humanity and service. During his service, he fell in love with Sita through a series of letters written during a Kashmir conflict in the 1960s. Each person Afreen met told her the version of the story they knew, until she met Sita after so many obstacles to uncover a truth she was not ready for, all the while carrying it in the letter she held.
The plot of the movie relies on a narrative structure with Afreen traveling across India gathering information from people who knew Ram and Sita. The strength of the movie is focused on nuanced writing that handles sensitive geopolitical themes (India-Pakistan relations) with empathy rather than jingoism, and the weakness of the movie lies in coincidences: a few plot conveniences in Afreen's investigation feel slightly contrived.
In this movie, Sita Ramam, beyond the romance, its central message is that humanity and kindness transcend borders, religion, and war, which gives the narrative a timeless quality.
I already know that the typical body-swap comedy driven by a magic wish is very worn out... and this film is an alternative version of that plot.

I Feel Pretty (2018)
Ya sé que la típica comedia basada en cambio de cuerpos por un deseo mágico está muy gastada... y esta película es una versión alternativa de ese argumento.
Pero tiene un giro que al menos yo no había visto hasta ahora, lo que da a esta comedia un plus, porque aparte de las risas, deja una enseñanza.

La protagonista es una mujer a la que muchas corrientes etiquetan hoy día como de positive body, porque decir gorda es políticamente incorrecto, y vive con esa frustración de no ser aceptada por su cuerpo, lo cual tiene mucho fundamento.
Lo cierto es que una persona, tenga la apariencia que tenga, carga con muchos paradigmas y cánones que se supone debe cumplir para ser aceptada socialmente. Y ahí es donde la película toma un giro distinto.

I watched Jurassic World Dominion today , and seriously, to be honest, I don't even know why I have not sat down to fully watch this movie before now, like, I have caught many clips here and there over the years, but now actually watching it properly from start to finish? First time, and I genuinely regret waiting this long to do so.
So here, the story kicks off with Owen and Claire living quietly off the grid in a remote cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, secretly raising a teenage girl named Maisie Lockwood, who turns out to be a human clone tied to some deeply sensitive genetic history, because of what she represents, they are hiding her from the world, keeping her far away from anyone who might want to exploit her DNA for their own profit, but living that isolated life clearly isn't easy for a teenager at all, and Maisie starts getting restless, frustrated with never being allowed to just exist like a normal kid.
Meanwhile, in the woods near their cabin, Blue, the velociraptor Owen personally trained, shows up one day with a hatchling of her own, born asexually, which is already wild science on its own , Maisie names the baby raptor Beta, and the two bond almost instantly, but because Maisie cannot sit still with all that isolation anymore, she sneaks off from the cabin, and that's exactly the opening a group of mercenaries needed, working for a shady bio tech company called Biosyn, led by CEO Lewis Dodgson, poachers track her down and kidnap her, snatching Beta right along with her, not out of sentiment, but because both of them are seen as valuable genetic assets worth exploiting.
Once Owen and Claire realize their daughter and Beta are gone, the entire rescue mission kicks into gear, and honestly, this becomes the real engine of the movie, their search leads them to Malta, into this underground dinosaur black market where creatures are trafficked and sold like commodities, that whole section plays out almost like a spy thriller, tense chases through crowded streets, danger everywhere, made even messier once predator dinosaurs get loose in the middle of it all, Owen eventually then confronts the lead poacher directly, and in this oddly poetic twist, the same guy causing all this trouble ends up getting cornered and killed by the very creatures he was trying to profit off of, but not before revealing where Maisie and Beta were actually taken.
While all that rescue drama is happening, there is a whole separate crisis unfolding back home, giant genetically modified locusts wiping out crops across America, and Ellie Sattler starts suspecting Biosyn is behind it too, that is what eventually pulls Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm into the same orbit as Owen and Claire, everybody's separate investigations slowly converging on one corrupt company.
What I loved is that the movie doesn't just rely on dinosaur chases for two hours, even though there's plenty of that and it's thrilling every time, there is real weight underneath it all, genetic engineering, corporate greed, the consequences of messing with nature without understanding what you are unleashing, and watching two generations of characters, old and new, finally share the screen properly felt like such a full circle moment, even coming into it a bit late myself.
And by the time everything builds toward its climax, you can feel the weight of an entire era of storytelling trying to close itself out right, honoring where it all started while still pushing somewhere new, ambitious, definitely juggling a lot, but for someone watching it fully for the first time, it delivered exactly the chaos I was hoping for.
Here we're again with the second and last part of Lisabi. Remember in the first part we discussed how Lisabi's friend died. What transpired, how much he loved him, and how he sought to take revenge on the Oyo empire.
Lisabi: A Legend Is Born
I love this part so much especially because it opens up to the origin of Lisabi himself, how he came to be, the mystery surrounding him, how his mother died protecting him and the last prayer she said to him back then before she gave up the ghost and how that it was that prayer that connected him(Lisabi) to some spiritual forces that now guide and protect him.
Also, it went on about the fight between the the Oyo empire and the Egba's. How they didn't just fight with swords and hands, but made use of charms and spiritual powers too. And at last, the Egba won the war with the help of Lisabi.
But then, things fell apart after they won the war. People who were close to Lisabi began to get jealous; they felt he was the only one taking all the glory. They even went ahead to kill someone who's very close to him. Later they nominated him and asked him to be the warlord, but he turned it down and made his way, or let's say, he disappeared into the spiritual realms. In short, we can't say that Lisabi died at the end; they deliberately left his end as a mysterious one, meaning he's a legend.
I as well love how this second part has its own title, "A legend is born," and it is a continuation of the first, "The uprising." And I can say that I really love the continuation, and as expected people for jealous of him, which led to betrayal, chaos and all which made him eventually disappeared, especially when the most closest person to him was killed.
Not as if this particular one didn't have their offs; of course they did, but I love how they did something that isn't in the first, and that is them touching on the person of Lisabi, his birth, and all of that. Because in the first part I was wondering how a farmer would be this powerful to the extent of communicating with spiritual beings and forces.
Lateef Adedimeji gave his best to this movie. It made me respect him more as an actor, I can now see beyond most of his crying crying acts he often does in movies. This movie made us see how good, versatile and great of an actor that he is. Yeah, and about his friends getting jealous of him, I would say he contributed to it too. You know, when the praises and all were much, he as well began to treat others somehow, so they felt somehow about it too.
I also love how that after the war and everything, those who seek his downfall and all were people closest to him. The people who fought side by side with him to win the war against the Oyo Empire became the same people who resented him when he became the most glorified.
What I didn't like though was how that the jealousy part wasn't really built, we actually need to see some of it, and how it build up to get to that extent, that way we would understand very well why they did what they did. I love that the ending has him deciding to disappear, but also, that was too quick; after all of those things he had gone through and all, he disappeared abruptly.
But the visuals, costumes, location and all his very good.

Obsession is a movie that would give you chills down your spine. It explored the darker side of what obsession is. It's also the kind of movie that would make you feel different kinds of emotions.
So this movie is about a guy named Bear. He is too timid and shy to tell his crush, Nikki about his feelings for her. I kept wondering why it was so hard for him to confess his feelings to her. He has known Nikki for a long time.

Bear got chances to tell Nikki about his feelings but he chose not to and that got on my nerves. I mean, how timid can a man be?
Bear got a one wish willow. I honestly don't know what on earth he was thinking when he did but that was the beginning of chaos.
The night he got it, he drove Nikki to her house, and once again, Nikki gave him a clear opportunity to tell her if he had any feelings for her. Bear refused to tell her. I was so mad at him in that moment.
Next thing, bear brought out the one wish willow, made a wish and then broke it. He wished Perhaps, he didn't believe it would change anything, but on the contrary, it changed everything.
Bear had wished that Nikki would fall very much in love with him, and his wish came true. Nikki became so obsessed with Bear. It was as if she was possessed. Of course, it all resulted in a tragic turn of events.
One thing I love about this movie is that it's so simple, yet so good. This movie was made with a low budget but it did wonders.
The actors did a fantastic job in their roles. One person who stood out for me was Inde Navarrette who played Nikki. Her performance was absolutely incredible. She played the role of a possessed girlfriend perfectly. One thing that baffled me was how she managed to carry out some movements in the movie. The way she walked sometimes was just fascinating.
Her facial expression was everything. There was a scene where Bear asked her a question while they were in a restaurant and suddenly, her face changed and she snapped. The thing about Nikki is that she had episodes. One moment she's so weird and saying strange things. They next moment, she's calm.
Sometimes she would act as if she was crying for help. Next thing, she's acting okay. It gave the impression that maybe the real Nikki was trapped inside, while a whole different kind of person took over.
Obsessive Nikki didn't want to leave bear alone. She wanted to be with him every single moment.

Things go so bad that Bear lost both his friends, Sarah and Ian because of this obsession. Bear tried to undo the spell or whatever it was that made Nikki act that way, but he realized that there was no way out it this. The only way out was if one person died.
The end of this movie was a sad one because even Bear lost his life. Nikki got back to her normal self, but then, lives had already been lost.
This is a movie that would have you interested from the beginning until the end. It's totally worth it.
Honestly I had no expectations from Resident Evil when I started watching it ir kaybe a bit. Because I was not really sure how much I would like or dislike that film. But sometimes, it is better to not have any expectations from the movie and be able to patiently watch the film and enjoy it for what it is.
