Ang Pagiging Konsagradong Layko na Tulad ng Sikat na Bb. Chin-Chin Gutierrez | How We Can Become a Consecrated Lay Person (Part 2b of 3) (Fil-Eng)

"Ha? Ano raw?" Siguro iniisip mo yan. 😂 "Ano ba pinagsasasabi nitong taong ito?" Aba eh basahin po ito at nang malaman.

Sino ba 'kamo yang Chin-Chin Gutierrez? "Sikat ba yan? Tsaka ano ba ibig sabihin ng 'konsagradong layko'???" Aba eh, basahin po muna ang mga naunang parte para po malaman natin ang sagot sa mga tanong na yan tsaka para makilala mo na rin siya kung hindi mo sha knows. Malalaman mo kung bakit naging trending ang magandang babaeng 'yan online early this month.


Kapag nabasa mo na mga yan, tara ituloy na natin yung susunod sa Part 2a. hehe. Kung di mo babasahin yang dalawang yan e malamang hindi mo maiintindihan lahat ng sinasabi ko rito. So wag po kalimutan basahin muna yung dalawang post ko bago po ito kung hindi nyo pa rin nababasa. Ang katamaran ay 'di po nakakaalis ng kawalan ng kaalaman kaya magbasa po muna ng sagot sa mga tanong. hehe.




Ang Pagpapatuloy Kung Ano Ang Mga Ginagawa ng mga Taong Nagiging Konsagradong Layko

After magbasa nung dalawang naunang post ko, eto na po, pag-usapan natin ano mangyayari matapos magawa na natin yung mga nauna. Narito na ang mga susunod na maaaring gawin natin.

✅ Pang-apat: Magkaroon ng mga Debosyon

Ngayon kapag nagagawa mo na yung tatlong naunang gawain, it means marami ka na madarasal kasi mas nakikilala mo na dapat si Lord. Napakaraming novena and devotional prayers, malunod ka sa kakapili. 😂 Kaya always ask for God's guidance kasi makikita mo n lng bigla mga gagawin mo kung di mo man hanapin.

More than once or thrice a day ang pagdarasal ha. Kailangan meron ka na tlgang daily prayer life. Kung ano trip mo dasalin e di go, or kung ano sinabi ni Lord na dapat mo gawin at dasalin gowww. Habang nagdarasal ka lalo mo malalaman ano mga plano ng Diyos sa buhay mo. Unti-unti lang kahit atat tayo. haha. Patience is a virtue.

Diyan mo rin pwedeng malaman kung ano ang mga debosyong gagawin mo. Minsan bigla na lang maiisip mo yan, ibig sabihin binulungan ka ni Lord or ni Mama Mary or ng guardian angel mo habang nagdarasal ka. Minsan naman may nakita kang video o post online kaya bigla mo na lang gusto gawin kasi parang maganda, nakaka-engganyo, atbp.

Ano ang mga halimbawa ng debosyon 'kamo? Eto po ang ilan.


👉 Debosyon kay Our Lady of Mt. Carmel at sa kanyang brown scapular: Si. Bb. Chin-Chin Gutierrez malamang may debosyon sa Mahal na Ina ng Bundok Carmel sapagkat... yan muna ang clue na sasabihin ko. 😁 Alamin kung bakit ko nasabi yan sa susunod na post ko. (Abangan!) Kung gusto mo malaman tungkol sa debosyon na yan, mag-search ka po muna kasi wala pa ako nasusulat na in-depth nyan. haha. Eto pa lang yung nasulat ko na related diyan: Brown Scapular, Miraculous Medal... What's Next? 🤔

Tamad ka maghanap? O ito manood po muna tayo:



👉 Debosyon sa Sakramento ng Kumpisal: At gaya ng sinabi ko sa naunang post ko, kailangan at least isang beses isang buwan e nagkukumpisal po tayo. Kung nabasa nyo mga sinulat ko sa Part 2a, maiintindihan nyo kung bakit.


👉 **Debosyon sa Pagtatalaga ng Sarili sa Diyos:** Kung nagagawa mo na lahat ng naisulat ko sa isang post ko at ito mismo, aba e magsisimula ka na matuto ng tamang pagdedesisyon sa buhay (*discernment of spirits or how to make wise spiritual decisions*). "Talaga ba?" Oo talaga.

Which means makikita mo rin dapat eventually ang Consecration to Jesus thru Mary na debosyon. Meron n nga ngayon Consecration to St. Joseph eh and this year meron na rin sa Holy Family! San ka pa di ba? 😀 Meaning magiging parte na ng buhay mo yan.

Ano ba ang debosyon ng pagkokonsagra o pagtatalaga ng sarili sa Diyos? Iba po ito sa pagiging Consecrated Lay Person. Ang debosyong ito ay ginagawa rin ng mga pari kahit sila ay naordinahan na. Ginagawa rin yan ng mga madre. Ibig sabihin pwede mo rin gawin 'to bilang layko.

2 taon na ang nakalipas mula nang malaman ko ang tungkol dito. Wala rin akong kaalam-alam diyan noon. 😅 Sure ako di mo rin alam gawin 'to.

Malaking tulong kasi ang pagkokonsagra sa Diyos para maging tunay na banal tayo. Iwas kasalanan din po pag may time. Maliban sa madalas na pagkukumpisal, malaking tulong pag ginawa natin ito. ✅ Pang-lima: Magsisilbi ka na sa Panginoon. Yehey!

Maya-maya niyan kapag nagawa mo na yung apat sa taas ay naku... gugustuhin mo na mag-serve kay Lord. Sasali ka na lang sa mga parish orgs/ministries. Shempre maghahanap ka muna kung san ka ba belong based on your life experience and talents pero best to ask mo muna si Lord.

Ganito rin ang nangyari kay Bb. Gutierrez. Matapos ang ilang taon ng pagdarasal at pagninilay nagdesisyon siya noong taóng 2010 na iwanan ang buhay showbiz at magsilbi sa Panginoon.

👉 Ang dami pong pwede pagpiliang parish ministries:

  • choir
  • lectors & commentators
  • greeters & collectors
  • extraordinary ministers of holy communion
  • altar servers
  • mother butler guild
  • social communications team
  • social service or urban poor ministry
  • catechetical ministry
  • bible apostolate
  • etc.

### 👉 Marami ring Church communities/organizations na masasalihan!: * *Legion of Mary (for adults and the youth as active members or auxiliaries)* * *Couples For Christ (Singles, Youth, Kids, Seniors meron din yan)* * *Knights of Columbus (frat* yarn) * *Catholic Faith Defenders* (mga mahilig makipagdebate at magturo pwede ka dyan!) * *Courage (International, Philippines, etc.)* * *Live Pure Movement* * *Adoracion Nocturna (Filipina, Mexicana, Guadalajara, Americana, etc.)* * *Opus Dei* * *etc.*

👉 TANDAAN: Kung sasali kayo sa mga 'yan kailangan po isa o dalawa lang salihan nyo.

Hindi kelangan lahat salihan nyo kasi magkakasabay-sabay activities nyan nako mahihilo ka kung san ka sasali. Wag gano'n. Itanong mo sa Diyos kung saan ka lang talaga dapat sumali para sure.

Example ng pagsali sa 1 parish ministry + 1 church community:

  • member ka ng choir tsaka Opus Dei (which is unlikely but can happen)
  • altar server ka na Youth for Christ ka pa
  • nagse-serve ka sa Social Service Ministry tas Legion of Mary active member ka rin

Example ng 2 church communities:

  • Legion of Mary member ka na, sumali ka pa sa Singles for Christ
  • Catholic Faith Defenders member ka tapos Courage Philippines member ka rin

Example ng 2 parish ministries:

  • Kasali ka na sa Urban Poor Ministry then sumali ka pa bilang isa sa Lectors and Commentators



REMINDERS:

Wag kang sasali sa mga yan kung gusto mo lang lumandi. Si Lord dapat ang priority natin hindi ang iyong sarili o ibang tao. Ang mga taong tunay na mahal ang Diyos at gusto maging banal ay magsisilbi sa Panginoon hindi dahil may makukuha bagkus dahil gusto nating tumulong sa iba at magbigay kung ano ang meron sila o magbahagi ng mga magagawa nila para sa kapwa.

Ang taong nagsisilbi sa Panginoon ay tumatalima sa Sampung Utos ng Diyos at iba pang turo ni Hesus pati na sa mga tuntunin ng Simbahang Katolika at mga opisyal na dineklara ng Santo Papa.

At panghuli, mahalaga po ang pagsali sa mga parish ministry and/or church community para may kasama po tayo maglakbay patungo sa Diyos. Hindi ka po nag-iisa. Meron din pong ibang tao na gusto makaakyat sa Langit. Meron ka rin makakasama kung nahihirapan ka labanan ang tukso o ang mga problema mo. May magdarasal para sa iyo o may sasama sa iyo na magdasal. Ganern. New friends ayaw mo ba? 😆 Dapat meron po tayong mga kaibigan na makakasama at magdadala sa atin sa landas ng kabutihan at kabanalan. At di nyo po sila makikita palagi kung hindi po tayo sasali sa mga nagsisilbi sa Simbahan. 😁

Kapag narating mo na ang stage na ito masasabi kong isa ka nang debotong Katoliko o tinatawag nating Sagrado Katoliko. Sa Ingles yan ay tinatawag na Practicing Catholic.

✅ Pang-anim: Ready ka na Maging Consecrated Lay Person!

So ngayon after some time na ginagawa mo na lahat ng mga nalista ko, eventually kung will ni Lord maghahanap ka na rin ng sasalihan mong 3rd Order/Secular Institute. (Abangan mo yung Part 3 na post nito para ma-gets mo yan.) Minsan nga si Lord na lang magdadala sa'yo sa kanila*. It depends* eh. hehe.

👉 Kasi pwede rin naman na hanggang step 5 na lang tayo buong buhay natin, ok lang din yun. 👉 O kaya pwede ka ring maging pari o madre. 👉 Kung sakaling tinatawag ka talaga ng Diyos na maging Konsagradong Laiko e di sundin mo lang ano mga sasabihin ni Lord.

Kung anuman ang pinakamagandang plano ng Panginoon sa buhay mo yun sana ang masunod natin.




Bakit kelangan ko pa gawin lahat ng mga yan?!?

Yan, ganyan mag-isip ang mga tamad. 😂 Uso sa Pilipinas yang katamaran na yan kaya tanggalin na natin yan. hahaha.

Isipin mo na lang, bakit kelangan pa na ang baby e lumaki at matutong gumapang then saka maglakad? Naging malaki ka na ba bigla na lang?

Bakit kelangan pa magdaan sa panahong wala tayong alam bago maging matalino? Bakit kelangan magtanim ng buto para tumubo ang isang halaman at may makain? Ba't kelangan matuto muna kung ano ba ang basic shapes and colors, ano mga style ng art, atbp., bago makapag-sketch o makaguhit ng tao, halaman o hayop at makagawa ng painting o sculpture? Same thing ang sagot sa mga tanong na yan ay ang dahilan bakit kelangan natin gawin lahat ng mga sinulat ko.

Kaya nga ang bata tinuturuan sa paaralan para maging prepared sa real world after school. So same lang kung bakit kailangan mo gawin lahat ng steps na yan. Kung nakaya mo makapag-aral at maka-graduate sa high school at/o college kakayanin mo rin gawin lahat ng nakasulat sa taas at sa Part 2a.

👉 Tandaan: Inuunti-unti po kasi yan.

Lahat ng bagay napag-aaralan. Ang grade 1 ba nagiging college student agad? Special child ka ba? 😆 Hindi naman di ba? Kahit nag-aral ka pa sa Catholic school kung di mo naman ginagawa magdasal man lang araw-araw e back to square one ka talaga. Kaya kapag nagagawa mo na yung unang kelangan gawin, isunod mo na yung next steps. Ganern!

Nung ginagawa at natututunan ko lahat ng 'yan, saka ako naliwanagan. Ay ganito pala, ganun pala, pwede pala ang ganito, atbp. Syempre may moments na na-stress din ako at natatawa sa sarili. May moments na nalulungkot o naaasar. Normal pa rin. Bilang tao kung ano nararanasan ko sa mga gawain e natutunan ko ang kaibahan ng pag gumawa ka ng mga bagay na para sa Diyos at mabuhay patungo sa Kanya.




Ready ka na sa Part 3?

Ang haba pa rin netong post ko, hinati ko na nga napahaba pa rin. 😅

Sa huling bahagi nito malalaman nyo ano ba yung iba't-ibang klase ng mga Konsagradong Layko. Pati na kung ano yung pinili ni Bb. Chin-Chin Gutierrez. Siya lang actually ang pinakakilalang ganyan na alam ko sa Pilipinas.

You might be thinking, "Huh? What'd you say'?" 😂 "What is this person talking about?" Well, read this and find out.

You wanna know who Chin-Chin Gutierrez is? "Is she famous? And what does 'consecrated lay person' mean???" Well, read the previous parts first so you can find out the answers to those questions and you can get to know her if you don't know her yet. The Continuation of What People Who Become Lay Consecrated Do

After reading my two previous posts, here it is, let's talk about what happens after we have done the previous ones. Here are the next ones we can do.

## ✅ Fourth: Have Devotions Now when you have done the three previous tasks, it means you will pray a lot because you should already know the Lord better. There are so many novenas and devotional prayers, you will drown from all the choices. 😂 So always ask for God's guidance so you will suddenly know what you will do even if you don't look for it.

Praying more than once or thrice a day is important. You really need to have a daily prayer life. Whatever choice of prayer you feel like praying, just do it. Or whichever the Lord says you should do and pray, go do it. As you pray you will know more about God's plans for your life. Little by little, we can do it even if we are impatient. haha. Patience is a virtue.

That's also how you can know what devotions to do. Sometimes you will suddenly think of something, meaning the Lord or Mama Mary or your guardian angel whispered to you while you were praying. At times you may see a video or post online then you suddenly feel compelled to do it because it seems beautiful, enticing, etc.

What are some examples of devotions? Here you go.


👉 Devotion to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and her brown scapular: Ms. Chin-Chin Gutierrez probably has a devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel because... that's the only clue I'm going to tell you now. haha. Find out why I said that in my next post. (Stay tuned!) If you want to know about this devotion, do a search first because I haven't written anything in-depth about it yet.

👉 Devotion to the Sacrament of Confession: And as I said in my previous post, we need to confess at least once a month. If you read my writings in Part 2a, you will understand why.
👉 Devotion of Consecrating Yourself to God: If you can do everything I wrote in my previous post and this one, well, you will start to learn how to make wise spiritual decisions in life (or discernment of spirits). "Really?" Yes, really.

Which means you should also eventually discover the Consecration to Jesus thru Mary devotion. There is already a Consecration to St. Joseph and this year there is also one to the Holy Family! Awesome, right? 😀 Meaning it will become a part of your life.

What is the devotion of consecrating or dedicating yourself to God? It is different from being a Consecrated Lay Person. This devotion is also being done by priests even if they are already ordained. Nuns/sisters also do it. That means you can do it too as a layperson.

It has been 2 years since I learned about it. I didn't know about this back then either. 😁 I'm sure you don't know anything about it too.

Consecrating yourself to God is a great help in becoming truly holy. Let's avoid sins as much as we can. Aside from frequent confession, doing this will help. If you're too lazy to do it alone find a group who will do it so you can pray with others, even online. Here's an example from last year:

✅ Fifth: You Will Finally Serve the Lord. Yay!

Sooner or later, when you are already doing all four, oh my... you will want to serve the Lord. You will just join the parish orgs/ministries. Of course, you will have to find out where you belong based on your life experiences and talents but it is best to ask the Lord first.

This is what happened to Ms. Gutierrez. After several years of prayer and meditation, she decided in 2010 to leave the entertainment industry and serve the Lord.

👉 There are many parish ministries we can choose from:

  • choir
  • lectors & commentators
  • greeters & collectors
  • extraordinary ministers of holy communion
  • altar servers
  • mother butler guild
  • social communications team
  • social service or urban poor ministry
  • catechetical ministry
  • bible apostolate
  • etc.

👉 There are also many Church communities/organizations to join!:

  • Legion of Mary (for adults and the youth as active members or auxiliaries)
  • Couples For Christ (Singles, Youth, Kids, Seniors are also available)
  • Knights of Columbus (this is a frat)
  • Catholic Faith Defenders (those who like to debate and teach can join this!)
  • Courage (International, Philippines, etc.)
  • Live Pure Movement
  • Adoracion Nocturna (Filipina, Mexicana, Guadalajara, Americana, etc.)
  • Opus Dei
  • etc.

👉 NOTE: If you join any of these, please only join one or two.

You don't need to join all of them because they will all have their own activities that may happen at the same time so you might get dizzy about which one to participate in. Don't do that. Ask God which one/s you should join to be sure.
Example of joining 1 parish ministry + 1 church community:

  • You are a member of the choir and Opus Dei (which is unlikely but can happen)
  • You are an altar server and also a Youth for Christ member
  • You serve in the Social Service Ministry and you are also an active Legion of Mary member**

Example of 2 church communities:

  • You are a Legion of Mary member, then you also join Singles for Christ
  • You are a Catholic Faith Defenders member, then you are also a Courage Philippines member

**Example of 2 parish ministries:** * You are already a member of the Urban Poor Ministry and you join as one of the Lectors and Commentators



REMINDERS:

Don't join any parish organization if you just want to flirt or worse, get laid. The Lord should be our priority, not yourself or other people. People who truly love God and want to be holy will serve the Lord not because they will get something but because we want to help others and give what we have or share what we can do for all.

A person who serves the Lord obeys the Ten Commandments of God and other teachings of Jesus as well as what the Catholic Church teaches and official declarations by the Holy Pope.

And finally, it is important to join parish ministries and/or church communities so that we have companions on our journey to God. You are not alone. There are also other people who truly want to go to Heaven. You will also have someone with you if you are struggling to resist temptation or solve your problems. Someone will pray for you or someone will pray with you. Cool, right? Don't you want new friends? Haha.

We must have friends who will accompany us and lead us on the path of goodness and holiness. And you will not always see them if you do not join those who serve in the Church. 😁

When you reach this stage I can say that you are already a devout Catholic or what we call in Filipino as Katoliko Sagrado (literally: Sacred Catholic). In the English speaking world it is better known as a Practicing Catholic.

✅ Sixth: You are Ready to Become a Consecrated Lay Person!

So now after some time that you have done all the things I have listed, eventually if the Lord wills it you will also look for a 3rd Order/Secular Institute to join. (Stay tuned for Part 3 of this post so you can understand that.) Sometimes the Lord will just lead you to them. It depends. hehe.

👉 It is possible that we may only stay at step 5 our whole lives, that is also okay. 👉 Or you can become a priest or nun/sister. 👉 If God really calls you to be a Consecrated Lay Person, then just follow what the Lord says.

Whatever is the best plan of God for your life is, may that be what we follow.




Why Do I Need to Do All That?!?

That's how lazy people think. Hahaha. That laziness is common in the Philippines too so let's get rid of it. 😆

Just think about it, why does a baby need to grow up and learn to crawl then walk? Did you suddenly become an adult?

Why do we need to go through a time when we know nothing before becoming smart? Why do we need to plant a seed so that vegetation can grow and have something to eat? Why do we need to first learn what basic shapes and colors are, what the various styles of art are, etc., before we can sketch or draw a person, plant or animal and create a painting or sculpture? The answer to those questions is the same, it is the reason why we need to do all the things I wrote.

That's why a child is taught in school to prepare him/her for the real world after school. Same thing on why you need to do all those steps. If you were able to study and graduate from high school and/or college, you will also be able to do everything written above and in Part 2a.

👉 Remember: It's a gradual process.

Everything can be learned. Does a 1st grader immediately become a college student? Are you a special child? 😆 No, right? Even if you studied in a Catholic school, if you don't at least pray everyday, you're really gonna go back to square one. And so when you can already do the first thing you need to do, follow the next steps. Easy.

When I was doing and learning all that, I was finally enlightened. "Oh, this is how it is, that is how it goes, this is actually possible, etc." Of course, there were moments when I was stressed and laughed at myself. There are moments when I feel sad or angry. That's normal. As a person, whatever I experience in various activities has taught me the difference in doing things for God and living a life going towards Him.
