Hello friends and Hivians. Hope all is well. It's been a bit since my last post. I've been busy with work and been busy in good ways as well. Both have contributed to some inactivity here. In my last post I mentioned that November is a busy month for me. There's many birthdays and of course family celebrations. I haven't really had any dull moments yet this month.
One thing I wasn't expecting was a busy work schedule. Most days at my full-time job have been crazy. I've been either processing cargo or loading aircraft. I had a busy start to the month and the schedule is pretty full the rest of the month.
This week already started on Sunday. I worked from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again Monday morning from 1:00 a.m. to 4:45 a.m. That was rough schedule as I didn't have much notice. At least I fell asleep pretty quickly once I got home.
Above is some cargo we had to process today. The process took almost the entire workday to accomplish. This cargo we be loaded onto two C-17 aircraft later this week.
As of right now, I have the standby work phone the week of my birthday (18th thru 25th). That week we have a handful of arriving aircraft coming in at at all times of the day and night. Even two on my actual birthday. So far nothing falls on Thanksgiving Day (28th). Hopefully it stays that way because I have plans to visit my Mother and Sisters who live out of town.
Well I haven't been delivery driving in quite some time. There is a new delivery driver I have taken under my wing, my son. It was a Thursday and we did a short run of just a little over an hour. He made three deliveries and made close to $30. I'll report more on this when we both have a bit more time. I've really only stratched the surface with him. He did well for his first time though.
I've been to 3 of my son's basketball games this month. He is currently a red shirt Freshman. If you don't know what that is let me explain. He gets to practice and travel with the team but does not get to play in games. His scholarship still pays for all of his academics this year and basically gets an extra year of school paid for and this year doesn't count against his basketball eligibility. Next year he will be a true freshman as far as athletics goes.
I've been busy no doubt but this past Friday I had the day off and had some "Me Time." Yes, I get pedicures and this one was one of the better ones I have got. The technician was thorough and was not in a hurry. I also got hair cut previous to this.
I also have been out fishing a few times this month. I've been targeting trout and I have caught a few. One of the places I fished at I could see down in the water and bit. It was cool to see autumn (via fallen leaves) in the water and some snail shells on top of them. Open water fishing will be ending soon as Winter is looming.
I have enjoyed some good old homemade food made with love. This is some of the dishes I have been enjoying. I can't take credit as this was made by a friend (officially more than a friend ☺️). Not going to give it a relationship tag but there is defintely something there. Been on a few outings together and really enjoy the company. Even went fishing with me which was a first for me. Didn't catch any fish but we ended up going for a nature walk and enjoyed lunch together.
I had a small part in the stir-frying. Alright I mostly observed, it was all her 😆 She wanted me to watch and learn as she did her thing. It was a fun activity and it made the meal all that much better 😋
My brothers birthday is in a couple of days. I won't be able to celebrate with him as he lives across the country from me. My sister called me this weekend and told me she was talking to my brother's wife. Apparently she is going to purchase him a week trip (birthday present)to Califirnia and to Las Vegas for a few days in February. She invited us to meet up with them in Las Vegas. My two sisters, my mother, and myself are all planning to surprise him in Las Vegas. It should be a good time as I'm so for leaving some cold weather in the Midwest for warmer Las Vegas temperatures.
Yes a busy month so far a lot of work hours but some good busy as well. Oh and a big presidential election here, not going into that though. Hopefully the rest of the month will have a good balance as it has so far. Crossing fingers I'll be able to go home for Thanksgiving holiday.
