Satisfying Prawn Noodles with Tender Pork Ribs at Bukit Gombak

There's a type of prawn noodle dish that I always go for whenever I get the chance or come across a stall I'm familiar with. Sometimes, I’ll even try a new stall if it looks like they serve a good bowl of noodles.

A good way to tell if a stall makes a good dish is by checking the dining area to see if people have ordered from them and observing their reactions to the food.

A few weeks ago, when I visited Bukit Gombak, I had the chance to dine at Sin Huat Lee Restaurant. It was my first time there, so I had no expectations about the food or its quality. I decided to go for something that’s hard to mess up—the prawn noodles! I also noticed that several people had ordered from the same stall, which reassured me that it was a decent choice.

It may not be a huge food center, but it was buzzing with activity, and all the tables were full during my visit. I had a hard time finding a seat, so I ended up sharing a table with someone—otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to get one for myself!

At first, I considered getting duck rice, but I eventually decided on the prawn noodle stall instead. I was in the mood for seafood and pork ribs, so I went for the mixed toppings. It felt like a more exciting choice compared to just having a single topping!

What I like about this stall is how they prepare the prawns—making it easy to peel the skin off the meat. Even with chopsticks, the meat comes off effortlessly, without needing much effort!

Another great thing about this dish was how tender the pork ribs were—I could easily use chopsticks to pull the meat off the bones. They did a great job ensuring both the pork and prawns were cooked perfectly, making them effortless to eat. I really enjoyed this aspect of the dish!

It was a warm and humid day, so I opted for the dry version. That way, they still served me the soup, but in a separate bowl—making it more convenient. I could enjoy the noodles first and sip the soup whenever I wanted to!

Name of the Restaurant: Sin Huat Lee Restaurant Location: Bukit Gombak, Singapore Type of Food: Hawker food center Price Range: SGD 4.50 - SGD 6.50

Overall, this prawn noodle dish was a satisfying choice, with well-cooked ingredients that made it easy and enjoyable to eat. The combination of fresh prawns, tender pork ribs, and flavorful broth hit the spot, especially on a warm day. I’d definitely return for another bowl the next time I’m in the area!

The prawn noodle dish sounds soooo good! I absolutely love how you take the time to survey a stall before ordering. I mean, not everyone does this, but it seems like a great way to find hidden gems. Sin Huat Lee Restaurant sounds like a pretty good idea too, especially with prawns cooked to perfection and tender pork ribs. It's a plus, really, that the seafood is easy to peel and enjoy. I hope you get to enjoy it again soon!
