Survival of a Cockroach

This is the second most difficult post I've ever had to write, and it always is when you have to admit that you're doing something wrong, especially when you didn't know you were doing it.

Hello, my dear readers and also hello to all those people who are following me for the first time!

Please don't be upset that I mentioned you in this post. I mean it, have a little patience.

I really appreciate the reception my posts have had lately from all of you. It is you who inspire me to continue working at Steemit.

I want to take this opportunity to apologize deeply to all of you to whom I have sent memos without your consents

I've noticed that the way I've been spreading my recent post is not very well received. I mean the memos. However, I ask for patience before making any judgments in your mind.

Like everyone else, I got started on this platform with the idea of getting economic benefits quickly. With just writing, I would make hundreds of dollars. How wrong I was.

Initially, I thought receiving memos was nice, because you got money for a little message. Obviously, for most users, it's a very small amount and almost worthless, but where I live makes the difference all those little cents. Then I understood that it is a way to make my post known to other people, my post would be known by paying a small tribute (a minimum of 0.005 to 0.015 STEEM) to inform all users about them and also, I wanted them to read them, I wanted to make me known (we do not all?).

It always seemed to me a fair way to advertise my post, a way for other users to find out about my existence. Because on this platform is difficult to know Who has published What, and even more if you have more than 100 followers.

I've received hundreds of memos and they don't really bother me, and now less since the Steemit wallet is in another area of the platform. Fortunately, I have GINAbot, who informs me of every transaction within my account.

How else can I make users see me? The memos!

So far everything was fine (I wrote the sentence in the past).

However, I have seen that there are many people who are annoyed, angry because memos are an invasion of their privacy and a hindrance that makes it difficult to read their transactions. And it's true. They're absolutely right. I complain about Jehovah's Witnesses because they insistently knock on the door of my house to give the word of God, constantly. By doing so, they are not only disrespecting my privacy, my right to choose my own religion but also disrespecting the religion I have.

I realize that I am doing the same thing they are doing by trespassing on the users accounts without their permission.

That's why I made this post. If it's not too much trouble, I'm going to mention all the users who visited me in the last post and those who have received the memos I sent earlier.

Dear reader, if you do not wish to receive memos or mentions from me, please let me know through a comment to this post and I will immediately remove it from my memos list.

Yes, I have a list of users, it is very difficult for me to remember more than 100 users and I want to remind them that I exist every time I write an interesting post.

And yes! The one in the photo is me, without a suit... Natural (for decorous reasons, I'm wearing a shirt...) and with an infernal heat!

Again dear reader, I want to offer an apology if I have somehow offended you and I hope not to disrespect you again. The least I want is an angry reader.

Before I finish, I want to mention something very important to me. I am a friend of @crypto.piotr, many of you should know him, maybe you do, maybe you don't. He has been a good person with me, he has been a great support to endure the tough social, economic and political situation that we, Venezuelans, are facing. Everyone at this point should know that thousands of Venezuelans are constantly fleeing or migrating from the country. But I'm still here because I have a family that depends on me and I just don't want to emigrate (but that's another matter). And if I know anything, it's that only good friends offer their hand when you're on the ground. And he has not only helped me, many compatriots as well. Maybe he's not a saint, nobody is, no human being is perfect, but he's a good person and he's doing a good deed. And many people I know can tell.

If being his friend means being called a cockroach, so be it.

Every story has three versions: the plaintiff's version, the defendant's version, and the truth.

Let us continue to spread the love for Steemit and for all of you because without you there is no Steemit.

Thank you very much for accompanying me til here

Here is an appendix to the group of readers I was referring to. Thank you for your patience and support.

Then we will be "The Happy Cockroaches"!

I'm with you my brother, @jadams2k18.

    Greetings to @crypto.piotr, @fucho80 and @lanzjoseg.

    LevelUp the Project Hope!

  • @d-zero(71)· 2677d

I can't actually believe there are people who don't like those memos! What kind of an idiot does't like free money? Imagine STEEM actually did hit the $100 mark as some say. Then a 0.003 STEEM would mean 30 cents. That's more that enough for a coffee in most developing countries.

You used a system as it should be used instead of spamming people i comments. You have given people free STEEM. You have nothing to apologize for. Thee is always going to be that dumb jerk who has something against you. Just ignore those toxic people and go on your own way.

  • @yestermorrow(56)· 2677d

Hey there.. I posted my response to crypto.piotr, who memo'd me to ask my opinion. However... I got a prize for you...

What you want to do is stick a little red thumbtack to your exterior doorframe. The flat kind... Jehovah's Witnesses put them there to warn other Witnesses that the house is "unclean"... I found this out decades ago, because when they came my roommate casually explained that he was an athiest and I was a witch. The next day, we saw it up there. So just use a flat red thumbtack, and you won't be bothered. <3

  • @cyberspacegod(63)· 2677d

    Dear @JAdams2k18,

I'll start by saying that You should not feel bad and personally I don't think You did anything wrong, and since the wallet as some people think, is NOT private, if it was then no one would be able to see it, nor have the ability to send any kind of transaction with memos, the resources on other hand are OWNED by each individual account OWNER, so I guess there are some people that don't really understand the difference between privacy and ownership, not the same thing, specially in the blockchain..

I do share the same opinion as Crypto.Piotr to some extent, mentions are way more intrusive than memos, still I don't mind about either because I'm a small guy roaming around and don't receive that much of either, and even the spam in wallet doesn't bother me, at least not to the point of going around talking s#$& about others who actually do something good for those who need..

Glad to 'hear' that 'our' reception of Your posts somehow give You inspiration ;)

And the memos being used as a 'marketing' tool are as valid as any other mean, I wouldn't personally do that but I would love to see people trying to avoid receiving publicity in the mail box at home, even with the warning stickers and all the warnings to not put it there.

It's not like in the memos by actual people, where You can simply ask to not receive them anymore and it's all good, I guess that there are a few 'snow flakes' out there that are part of a community, but want everything as the ego tells them it should be so it could feed, and anything that comes from another individual perspective isn't valid, only their 'truth' and not truth itself..

    ..sigh..

Go Gina bot!! (Steem World, SteemAuto and a few other magnificient tools)

Again, I disagree that memos invade any privacy because the wallet is OPEN to consult and send transactions, for the general public around the blockchain..

I used to dislike Jehovah's witnesses before I actually invited some to enter and they preferred to talk at the door because they didn't want to invade my privacy, and after a couple of talks, managed to make some new friends that wanted to know more about my faith and share what they could with me, without getting me pissed off.

(I used to get very mad at them, until I've decided to be a decent human being and saw them as people with other views and faith, only to realise they are just humans as I am, unless they're aliens from another world or inter-dimensional beings, even if they are/were that, they're still more human that the great majority of so called "humans" out there, who only care about their individuality and no one else matters, while consuming all kinds of crap, and believing they save the 'planet', when the planet is the only thing that surpasses any existence of humans and don't need help, even animals, still I do agree that to a degree, should be taken care of but.. I digress..)

..and will have to leave a freakin' humongous quote (I don't agree w/ 100% of it still..)..

“We’re so self-important. Everybody’s going to save something now. “Save the trees, save the bees, save the whales, save those snails.” And the greatest arrogance of all: save the planet. Save the planet, we don’t even know how to take care of ourselves yet. I’m tired of this shit. I’m tired of f-ing Earth Day. I’m tired of these self-righteous environmentalists, these white, bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is that there aren’t enough bicycle paths. People trying to make the world safe for Volvos. Besides, environmentalists don’t give a shit about the planet. Not in the abstract they don’t. You know what they’re interested in? A clean place to live. Their own habitat. They’re worried that some day in the future they might be personally inconvenienced. Narrow, unenlightened self-interest doesn’t impress me.

The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles … hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages … And we think some plastic bags and some aluminium cans are going to make a difference? The planet isn’t going anywhere. WE are!

We’re going away. Pack your shit, folks. We’re going away. And we won’t leave much of a trace, either. Maybe a little Styrofoam … The planet’ll be here and we’ll be long gone. Just another failed mutation. Just another closed-end biological mistake. An evolutionary cul-de-sac. The planet’ll shake us off like a bad case of fleas.

The planet will be here for a long, long, LONG time after we’re gone, and it will heal itself, it will cleanse itself, ’cause that’s what it does. It’s a self-correcting system. The air and the water will recover, the earth will be renewed. And if it’s true that plastic is not degradable, well, the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new paradigm: the earth plus plastic. The earth doesn’t share our prejudice toward plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place. It wanted plastic for itself. Didn’t know how to make it. Needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old egocentric philosophical question, “Why are we here?”

    Plastic… asshole.”

    ― George Carlin

Now, please do continue to send posts as long as it doesn't blow up Your funds, heck, lets all become whales and crash the blockchain with memo transactions to the 'snowflakes' until they're "rich", and then see them complain..

Now for some fun, do You even imagine who You've remembered me as soon as I put my eyes on Your photo? Saitama!!! One puuunnnchh!!! HAHAHA

It's very cool of You to care about all this and all but, don't let these 'small minded people' put You down in any way, it's not like if there weren't in the memos a warning part saying that if someone doesn't want to receive them, they could just say it..

I actually felt at one point like going into Venezuela and try to form a militia with locals to fight back but, who the f#$% am I to do that, at most I can receive one or two humans here in my house (not as if I haven't done it before, too many times to count by the fingers in both hands) but it's a big distance, what turn things more difficult (I think I'm digressing a lot today, now let's try to digress from digression..), and definitely Crypto.Piotr is a very good friend, and an amazing human, maybe that is what makes some individuals envy, because they can't be good to others for being self-centred, still, gotta love them the best way we can..

Fun time again, I like cockroaches they survive nuclear and we don't!!

(and when I was a kind I played with a lot of different bugs but was actually scared of cockroaches, have been awake by a big one roaming in my face once, even punched myself, was like 6 or 7 years young xD ..)
(This all reminded me of a 1996 game called Bad Mojo)

Keep it the way You do, in truth and sharing the love, because sharing is caring!! ;)

Have a great day brother, cheers,
    Cy

P.S.: You told me it was directed to a good friend, and I've only found out here that it was actually directed to @Crypto.Piotr, I've seen the 'soap opera' started by other user in the community, and I was almost starting an ad-hominem against that person but, another thing I've re-learned here is that, it's never worth it and it doesn't show compassion and love towards anyone, so I've commented here instead and mentioned Crypto.Piotr, just to piss him off a bit xÞ.

I do really love You guys, and a few other people that helped me a lot around this great community, some of them I won't forget even if we never speak again, whether for different opinions or for miss-understandings, because there are small gestures that make such a huge difference.. Actually, even the 'snowflakes' and 'douchebags' have taught me a couple of things, how not to be, for an example..

    So, Thank You all

  • @philipkavan(57)· 2678d

Dear jadams,I know sometime receiving memos can be annoying but still I pay attention to some of the memos which I find interesting, like now I have just read your post.I came to know that you are leading a difficult life in Venezuela.I know a little bit about the economic and political situation over there as there are many steemit users from Venezuela.I don't know what to say about it.But if you are promoting your post through memos then it is not a bad thing,at least to me it is not.

I came to learn about your post through the memo @crypto.piotr has sent to me.Thanks to him.He is really working hard for establishing a strong community of readers or network in steemit. So sometimes when I see a memo from him I pay attention to it.

Keep writing your post and it is a good decision of yours to ask to people whether or not they want to receive your memo.We should respect people's privacy, you are right about it.But as I have said earlier I think there are many people who won't mind to get a memo from you.

So keep writing your story.I can tell that many people here would love to read your post.

  • @awfunn(39)· 2679d

The friend @ crypto.piotr is a good person, if I could help you I would but all that I have earned in Steemit is a few cents and I do not have money to invest in Steem Dollar and give you some or promote your post but what I want most for you improve your situation for your family and for your loved ones, I want that because in my family we are not in a situation like the one in Venezuela but we were was in a situation where we did not even have money to bathe with a shower and not even We had it, and sometimes my dad had to borrow money from relatives to pay the taxes for electricity and water, since he worked in gardening and still does it but in those days my father earned less than the minimum wage in my country and one of my older brothers started working with 15 years old and my older brother with 14 years old to improve the family situation, but it was not until recently that we have improved and we have enough money to us and to give a little to our relatives since some of them are in need, and what we give is little and we give it because we know it is being in a difficult situation, even though theirs is not as difficult as the one we was live in, since What one of my brothers did was go to a farm of a cousin of my father and pick up their crop to eat us, because to his cousin's family the food can turned fermented, but to us did not last 1 day what my brother brought from that farm, and think that this cousin lost that farm is sad, but that's another issue, what I want to tell you is that when I have the opportunity to help you I'll do it because in my house who administers the income I'm not me because in my family there is only one wallet and that is for everyone and it is to buy the basic and necessary, thanks for reading and I hope you believe that if I can I will help you in the near future. We know that not only money is helped but it is almost the only help we can give you dealing with this social network.

  • @whitelightxpress(60)· 2679d

Hello @jadams2k18, thank you for this very honest post.

There's no easy answer here, because it's really a case of "it depends."

The PROBLEM is that most people in this community — and particularly those who have been here a long time — get lots of wallet spam from so-called "services" offering offering to upvote and resteem your posts. The majority of them are pure garbage. By association, we see most of what arrives in our wallets as "messages" to be trash, or attempts to extort money or even phishing attempts.

This is very different from getting a new post notice from a trusted writer you know.

Unfortunately — much like the spam in your email — it ALL arrives the same way.

Unfortunately, there is no real "opt in" system here, which means you will upset some people. It's a bit like political advertising: it goes to everyone, and some will be offended, and some will not.

    Bright Blessings!

I don't have an issue with you sharing a post with me this way now but if it started to happen a lot I would just ignore it. I get it it is hard to get people to read the post here. I love steem and still, I am so busy that I very rarely spend time just reading posts.

  • @yashny(70)· 2679d

Thank you @crypto.piotr for sharing this post to me. @jadams2k18 well, I have no issue at all about receiving memos and it is not even close to an invasion of privacy IMO. Some people might be annoyed but I don't think it is related to privacy because they can easily just pass it and ignore the memo. Maybe send it only to people who opt in to receive or people who choose not to opt out of the list. I wish you all the best =)

  • @rentmoney(77)· 2679d

Steemit is a tough place to succeed in. If memos helps you succeed then go for it. I never understood the reasoning to not like such a thing. All one needs to do is ignore the memo if they don't like it.

  • @crypto.piotr(65)· 2679d

Dear @everyone who is reading my comment :)

    line2.png

I introduced you all (Via memo) to this publication published by my great friend @jadams2k18. It's a subject very close to my heart and we're having quite an interesting discussion related to "sending mass memos".

We all realized already that some people do not like this method of reaching out to others, where majority of users seem to be okey.

I would love to know your opinion. I read and upvote all interesting comments :)

    Yours Piotr

  • @lanzjoseg(78)· 2680d

Hello my good friend @jadams2k18, I already talk to you in private and you know what I think, and I told you silly words deaf ears.

Keep going forward it's an honor to be your friend, for the nobleness of your words and take the offense that goes to others and learn from that, I think that I mentioned it to you, we just have to keep going, and thank you that we met that great man who supports many in steemit thanks to @crypto.piotr I have been able to learn many things, for all the recommendations given to read a post with good topics that memos have also helped me to interact with many people who share good taste for reading. So I have no problem receiving your memos.

    Feel free to do so.

A hug friend I hope you are very well and greetings to your mom.

  • @jacuzzi(75)· 2680d

I for one do not mind the Memos.. I mean its a free $0.001 into your account, so like, You are getting paid.. granted not that much.. lol, but 10 memos a day is a penny right? Anyways, I say keep it up and keep going strong.

The other way to be seen is to follow and follow back, to keep posting and grow your rep! I am working on that at the moment myself. :D

  • @aleestra(67)· 2680d

As a Venezuelan I understand your situation perfectly. Personally I do not consider invasive or disrespectful the shipment of MEMOS, this does not generate any notification (unless one wishes to receive it through GinaBot). I wish you and @crypto.piotr a lot of success in your projects. It's good to read quality content here at Steemit.

    My best wishes.

  • @mariannewest(75)· 2681d

I say do you. If the memos work for you, do them. If someone does not like them, take them off your list. People need to get over themselves a little bit and name calling is never okay. Personally, I would block anyone who decides to be aggressive and unfriendly. Everyone in your country is dealing with enough. We don't need people on Steem to add to the misery.

  • @tygertyger(70)· 2681d

you have been nothing but nice to me kiddo. but yes sending links to the memos unasked can really cause damage. not necessarily by you but copycats who will spam people. As i said in both my posts i would send potential people a memo asking if they would be interested in being included in your memo list like that people can choose. I personally do not want this but I have no problems with you tagging me in posts you find relevant.

  • @crypto.piotr(65)· 2681d

    Dear @jadams2k18

Thanks for sharing link to your publication with me Jose.

I'm fully aware that it's quite a serious subject. It reminds me of yesterdays post by @ tygertyger where she claimed that I'm a Roach (I'm still not sure what sending memos have to do with being a roach ...)

Most likely you know my opinion about memos. I strongly believe, that since whales (wealthy users) dominated trending page then rest of us have very few tools left on this platform. One of those very few tools is: sending MEMOs.

I've noticed that the way I've been spreading my recent post is not very well received.

Is that really your impression? So far I encountered only few people who ever complained about receiving them and majority users so far seem to be perfectly okey. It's best to appologize those who are upset and avoid them in the future.

I have seen that there are many people who are annoyed,

Actually, very few. I've send memos to several thousands people (almost 20k) since I joined Steemit. And less than 10 were annoyed. Amount of upset people is not even close to 0,1% (based on my own experience and analized data).

Anyway .... back to main topic ....

REALITY is that I didn't manage to find many accounts of people who have very little resources (so their upvotes do not matter and they cannot promote themself to trending page) which would be succesful on Steemit platform without using memos (meaning, that they would enjoy solid traffic and engagement).

At the same time I've found thousands of abandoned accounts, of people who tried to create quality content but didn't manage to get any visibility.

And that brings me to one simple conclusion: for most of us it's either choice of ending up like many others, who gaved up on Steemit or find other ways of sending notifications to those who follow us.

My suggestion is to do what @originalworks does - send memos only to those who follow you. Noone really seem to have a problem with it. If you're worried to upset some stranger with your wallet memo, then stick to engaging only with your current followers.

Keep in mind, that you will never please everyone. Just respect wish of those who do not like our methods and move on. That's my only advice.

    MEMOS vs MENTIONS

You've mentioned number of people in this post. Personally I think it's way more annoying that receiving memos. Imagine receiving 10 memos from different people. You can decide within a minute which ones you want to ignore and which ones attract your attention.

At the same time if you would be mentioned by 10 people in 10 different publications. Checking all 10 of them just to make a judgement if you're interested with each of those publications or not - this is surely more time consuming and frustrating.

ps. I that really you on that photo? :) Looking younger than I expected :D haha

    Cheers, Piot

Some of the mentioned usernames are from a trail vote you received from a few curation communities. Hence, they didn't read it, and I'm unsure if tagging them in this post was necessary.

    I'll read your post soon.

EDIT: I have read the post now. Sorry about being called a cockroach. Sending out memos is great but it also has its gray area in a way. And think you might have to find another means of reaching out to people through memos. Like someone suggested earlier, maybe creating a google form or a callout post to allow people willingly opt in after reading your posts can be worth it.

  • @sarez(65)· 2681d

So you are letting the loud shouters get you. DON'T!

If a steemian is offended say Sorry and move on. There is no "Right" way to build a relationship- as long as you are honest whatever happens will pass.

I like @crypto.piotr too. I don't subscribe to everything he does but most of it is pretty good for me and Steemit.

    Keep Steemin!

  • @calluna(63)· 2681d

I have a lot of respect for you having written this post, when there are no guides or rules for a platform, it is easy for people to get defensive when someone is upset by what is technically perfectly acceptable behavior.

There is a huge issue on steemit between what people see as good etiquette, and what is written down as the guides for platform usage. Essentially, when nothing even suggests you shouldn't do something, how would anyone know it is frowned upon, until they start doing it, and start getting the backlash. I think emotions only tend to run really high depending on how that backlash is responded to. And your response is admirable <3

In all honestly, i hadn't seen the memos you sent me, i don't have that on my ginabot notifications because of the sheer about of bot driven wallet spam, but given that it is so widely done, it is easy to assume it is okay. I have got in shit for doing things i saw everyone else doing, and couldn't see excluded anywhere, so started doing it too. The other part of this, is it does work. I am on the don't spam unsolicited links to wallets side of this, but when engagement can be so low, and it is so effective, i can see the arguments for doing it. My word, you have got some crazy levels of engagement from it, and real engagement.

I am not sure that anyone is saying that being friends who someone who is antagonistic when called out for doing this makes you a cockroach. But maybe more of a rebuttal to people who do this, and feel like they have the right to and apologize with if statements that express blame towards the other person.

If you are offering a subscription service, please sign me up, tagging me or messaging me on discord now and then would be more effective as I don't check my wallet that often. That said, i am always behind on reading and commenting on things and some things do just fall by the wayside.

Anyway, nice to put a face to the name ;) what you are going through is so very much, and given how sensitive you have been towards people getting upset about this, I don't think anyone could hold it against you <3<3

    @crypto.piotr llegue a través de

As many Venezuelans are surviving I notice it because of the people who visit me much thinner, there is no variety in the meals, no snacks, some having a salary that barely reaches the fortnight, but here we are and here we continue, we do not we want to go from the country.

It is not an issue for me receiving memos. At least, I was mentioned by somebody and that is enough for me to think that I've got friends here in Steemit community supporting each other, hoping that this actions also be done back to me as some sort of reward.

People called you a cockroach because you sent memos? Each time again I read these kinds of messages I dislike humans more.

First, I want you to know I like receiving a memo from you or anyone else who likes me to read his/her post. It is also fine if you add my name in your post so I can find it.

I agree with you it is hard to visit all followers so this is a great help/reminder. Also because SP is limited, power can be down again and my connection is slow.

Might be we are doing something wrong? Do we think we should stay in touch with the ones we follow?

Secondly, the only reason why I never sent a memo is that I do not know how to do it. @partiko does not have that option. If I receive a memo it is not bothering me and also not makes it harder for me to read my transaction (I need steemit.com for it), plus I care less about it.

Third, just like you, I would love to make a bit of an income here but in the past year, I made not even 25$ and the gift of $30 someone gave me to buy something nice I invested here in other Steemians.

I write a lot, using my smartphone with slow internet and will never earn anything here. I think that is the reality. You have to know people with influence which is not different from real life. Skills are less important, perhaps great looks are (and the skill to scam)?

Still, I like being here. Daily I learn new things, meet people, read interesting stories plus I try things I never tried before. Freewriting for example (see @mariannewest), the great tips for minnows (see @fitinfun) I strongly advise them to you!, and #ccc added some extra fun to my life as well. See if you can have some benefit from it if your internet is strong.

I also like to add that most Steemians are here and are struggling to find out how or what. That takes hours, even days and it is hard to remember everything. You need to build it blockchain by blockchain. Also, keep in mind that it is not possible to please everyone. What some like, others will hate. That's life.

People who scold at you, are not willing to explain why something is annoying to them are not worth following, visiting, commenting or upvoting. @Steem is a social media and you should be here because it makes fun, gives you positive energy, not to be scolded and to be humiliated. Here we are all the same Steemians with a 💓for Steem.

Delete those so-called friends, no matter if they are successful or not!

If you join social media you have no privacy! People can complain about that, but avoid social media if you want privacy. Do not post, follow or ask for followers. Nobody will literally knock on your front door or call you unless you give this information yourself.

Everything here, upvoting, resteeming, etc is based on contacts with others. Every tool and bot here is developed to reach fellow steemians. No one can expect from any one not to use it. To some it's helpful, others might find it annoying, but it is as it is.

I wish you, and @crypto.piotr, a great day with 🌞and💕 and no worries (or wasting time to apologize!).

  • @blanchy(75)· 2681d

Keep them coming buddy . If they are good I will read them . If they are bad I won’t . Simple as . Treat people as you would like to be treated or karma will get you . So chin up , the good times for you are only around the corner .

  • @deirdyweirdy(72)· 2681d

I have no issue with people sending memos, but then I don't receive too many. Perhaps it becomes irritating for those who receive a lot of them.

  • @jeoleena(42)· 2681d

hello @jadams... I don't mind receiving memos..I think any way, to present and promote our voice/opinion is a good way..:)

@jadams2k18, In my opinion, memo Transfers are not breach of privacy until our intentions are good. Some abuse it by sending not so helping links and it's annoying but if our intensions are good then people will receive it positively. Stay blessed and wishing you more growth and blessings.

Hi @jadams2k18 It must have been difficult for you to write this post but it is very well written and I congratulate you for it. I've realized that the attitude of people towards memos can be very variable. There are the ones who are happy to get them and the others who feel invaded by them. The later category can become quite angry about it and this casts quite a shadow on the whole process.

When I look at what has gone on in the domain of e-mail where there are quite strict laws about to whom we are allowed to write a mail, I believe that we should also observe some ground rules about the memos. I believe that it would be enough to create a form with google forms or another service where people could actually enroll to the distribution list. Like that we would send memos only to people who gave a direct consent.

You are doing an amazing work here on steem with @crypto.piotr and the project #hope but I think that the choice of using the memo as a means of communication can cast a negative shadow on it.

    Best regards, Achim

Hey @jadams2k18, it is fine with me. I do understand many don't like it. So have to be cognizant of that. Alternately, tag the people you want to have a look at your post. That too works and has the same effect as wallet memo. I mean the person comes to know you have written a post. 😊

  • @pixaroma(72)· 2681d

For me is ok :) i dont have a problem with memos :)
