DECODED TREES - NATURE IN B&W - MONOMAD (14 PICS)

Whenever I am on one of my walks in natural environments and I observe a tree with leafless branches or with incipient foliage, my first impulse is to take one or several photos of it and this is especially true if there is an intense backlight effect... I like that kind of convulsive chaos in the small branches formed in presumed anarchy. I also like this complex abstraction typical of nature in some cases visually seductive...

I take this kind of photos often, especially in the dry season when the trees look mostly like this and the skies are clear or sometimes with cloud splashing the blue... I take these types of photos and sometimes process and post them in color scheme as they are also pretty that way, I find. However, the real “decoding” (I liked that term for this) of all the complexity of the structure of a backlit tree, is perhaps more logical to show in a monochromatic scheme...

Another thing I ended up loving about this photographic work today was the selection of a square crop ratio (1:1). It seems to me that there is something of a “sense of control” produced by enclosing this mix of branches, buds and light against within a square visual plane. It's like having a lot of anarchy constrained by the sense of order and control that a square visual plane projects...

Magnificent choice of black and white for this ... we can truly can focus on the fractal geometry of the trees' structure!
