What a touching, beautiful story. Sister Lucy is a likeable character. She looked beyond Solomon's mistakes to help guide him. He really needed someone in his corner. It's heartbreaking that he had to look for support outside his own family and I love that she offered him a safe space to talk without making him feel judged. Sometimes having just one person who believes in you can make a difference in the choices you make. Sister Lucy may not be able to fix everything for Solomon but she's giving him something valuable: the chance to believe that his life can turn out differently.

Solomon fell into them, then pulled back quickly, hoping his friends hadn't caught a glimpse of that exchange.

Okay, I think it's about time he ditched the unhelpful friends who are bent on leading him astray.

Beautifully written as always. Take care and have a relaxing Sunday. 🌹

  • You know @kemmyb so many youth are in the same predicament...having no one who will vouch for them or lend a helping hand when family can or will not. All they need is someone who will give them a chance. Someone who will take a chance on them. I'm reminded of families who adopt children. It's reported that the majority of individuals only want infants. What does that do for the hundreds of thousands of older children who need someone too?

Thanks so much for your visit and insight into my characters. You perfectly understand their positions. And yes, if teens don't get what they need from their family, they will cling to and listen to other teens.

Take care and have a good rest of your week.
