Lovely Photos of Indian Summer

Corn season is almost over, which is so sad for me because I love corn very much. Every year at the end of summer, I miss corn so much. I feel a bit melancholy when I clean up my garden this time of year. I cut the corn stalks in my garden, except for the bottom parts, and leave them there for a while to give nutrients back to the soil.

I bumped into these cows after visiting the vegetable stand the other day. After buying the last corn and summer vegetables from there, I noticed that the farmer was trying to move his cows out of the barn behind the vegetable stand.

They were ready to go out to the field and have dinner. It was a beautiful day just before sunset. The farmer asked us, “Are you guys going this way?” We said, “Yes,” and he waited for us while he moved the cows.

We waved to the farmer and the cows as we left. The cows were so gentle and watched us quietly. The farmer's way of speaking was also very nice, although he had a pretty strong accent. When I first arrived in this area, I couldn't easily understand the strong local accent. I started to understand it little by little. However, I still can't imitate their accent very well.

This forest is next to the road near my house. It is one of my favourite forests around here. One day, I noticed that someone had started cutting down trees. I was afraid that people would start developing the forest soon. However, nobody started anything, and a few years have passed since then. I'm glad that I can still see the forest like this almost every day. Birch trees are so pretty.

This is one of the trees in my garden area next to the exit. I used to trim this tree low every summer. But after my husband told me that he likes to see them grow, I started letting them grow. He wants them to block the strong summer sunshine from his office window. They are growing very well. I see some black spots on the leaves, but overall, they are doing well.

Suddenly, no nature photos here! When I visited the hardware store, I noticed that there were more Halloween decorations for people's houses outside. Every year, I notice more and more Halloween decorations like these. If you see them outside in the dark, they might give you goosebumps, I think! I like the black pumpkins with orange accents around the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Here is a dog skeleton wearing a cool denim jacket and cap. My previous dog used to have a cool denim jacket like this. I received a lot of clothes and other gifts for her because her body was smaller than that of a standard French Bulldog. My current dog is too big to wear this jacket.

Back to the vegetable stand photo here. The cat is sitting on a bench in the middle of the pumpkins. This cat looked like a model for the farm. People were taking photos of it. I haven't bought a pumpkin for Halloween yet, but I'll go back there someday soon. I won't carve it, because that's my husband's job. He will make roasted pumpkin seeds as well.

By the way, I saw a tiny snow bug yesterday called Yuki Mushi (雪虫) when I went for a walk with my dog. I didn't want to recognize it because it means winter snow will be coming someday soon... I wish I could ignore it. However, I noticed the tiny, beautiful, fluffy bug floating in the air. Hopefully, we can enjoy warm Indian summer weather for as long as possible.

IMG_6149.jpeg

IMG_6150.jpeg
