Highlights of Rättvik, DALARNA county in SWEDEN 🇸🇪 ~ Wednesday Walk

Hi all 👋🏻

Today I share some highlights of a walk around Rättvik just before the snow ⛄️ started. This is also still early in my road trip around Sweden. 😊 RÄTTVIK is located in DALARNA COUNTY ~ SWEDEN 🇸🇪 what is famous for its little wooden horses 🐴

Sadly I haven’t been able to upload my Canon photos of Sweden to my laptop yet and edit them… and share, to be honest… I caught the virus 🦠 again. This time on the 4 hour long bus ride in Ireland going from the airport in Dublin to home last Friday, where a few people coughed and were spluttering 🤧 and one person was wearing a mask 😷 and looking sick 🤒

So yes, of course do I get it again… gggrrrrr I so hate my auto immune disease 😡 If I protect myself with masks or stay away from people, it just doesn’t matter. Walk past me… just for a second when you’re sick, and I will be sick a few days later 😔 and it takes weeksssss for me to recover. It started last Monday for me.

I lost count how many times I got it. My body just can’t cope. When I have it, I stay home to not spread it… why don’t other people do this too? I know… I know, the world and importantly lives continue… but being so vulnerable just 🤬🤬🤬

I can’t hide from the world 🌍 or should I?

Sigh… but enough of this now, let’s go back to my post 🤓

I am taking it easy, again… as I have a crazy busy month after Christmas 🎄 coming, I so need to be fit soon, I will tell you soon more about that 😉

So cross your fingers this time my recovery goes faster 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Let’s start our walk around…

I just love the wooden houses and buildings 🥰

In front of the townhall you find this wooden horses. You find them in all sizes in #souvenirshops especially in the colour red.

As I knew there was a cool old church boat to see, I walked towards it.

Protected from the weather…

Standing in this beautiful spot, right next to the river.

This house on the opposite side of the river stood out and I just had to capture it 😊

Next to the boat we find this information sign:

To imagine these boats started to be used during #viking times

Walking towards the centre I find this fountain 😊

So cool, it surely stands out.

Close to the fountain, there was an artisan store and above it… I found this small museum about the clothes that were worn in this region.

They look beautiful.

The layers must have been warm.

This is amazing! I love the church boat! At first, I thought... "Church boat? What is a church boat?" And then I saw the history! That is very interesting!

And wow! That house is really standing out, isn't it?

Do take good care of yourself. I truly appreciate all the lovely photos and interesting stories that you share about your trips. It's still good to be able to travel around. I do feel like I'm also enjoying the places with you. :D How I wish you and Erik got the chance to meet in Stockholm though. Perhaps next time... happy #thankfulThursday!

Shame sorry Jackie that you got sick again, your immune catches other's illness very quick and you just can't avoid humans because of it. You shall recover soon in no time.

Dear Jackie I'm sorry to hear you are down with the virus once again. It is so irresponsible for people who are sick not to stay home and go out and spread the virus without thinking of others. But anyway, people are the way they are. I hope you get well soon.

I'm sorry you caught the virus again, and wish you a speedy recovery!

The wood houses are absolutely gorgeous. I am always flustered by older houses, especially these kind. I might share some today myself, thanks for the inspiration. But I love the boat even more. Simply imagining the times boats like these have been through nd the history attached to them is incredible.

Sweden now? I have a short break and you're running off again lol.

My wife and Injust got back to UK for Christmas and she's got a bad flu and in bed! Aeroplanes are as bad as buses for catching things!

Great photos as always , I've never really travelled to Sweden except Malmo which tbh was a bit dull but obviously you choose all the right places!

How sad, dear friend @littlebee4, that you are suffering from the virus again, and that you are so vulnerable because of your autoimmune disease. You do very well to take it calmly, since there is nothing you can do to remedy it immediately, only more annoyance if you always think about it. What a beautiful city, I love the wooden buildings, I appreciate that you let us know about this Wednesday walking experience Get well soon
