Second Road to Hive Fest! .:. Ph’s meetups 🫂🍻

Believe it or not, I have bought my #HiveFest just today!!! 😱 I was talking about it from the first announcement of the event, but I bought my ticket only 12 days before the actual event! How's that happened, ph1102?

Well, I had the strange idea to finance the HiveFest ticket with my author reward earnings, and it took some time to get there... lol... I think that the first announcement was at the beginning of May, so almost 3 months to get there... But, I finally did it!!!

What I was almost 100% sure about on May 3rd was that I would go to the HiveFest... The rest was just to find a way how to get there... The ticket will be bought by HBD author rewards (and I took time for that), but the plane tickets and accommodation couldn't wait until the last moment...

The hunt for the best plane route began in May, and I bought my tickets at the beginning of August... For accommodation, I have reserved early, maybe even in June... As I use Booking.com for that whenever we go, I learn all their tricks, and I reserved an apartment with free cancelation, just in case... The idea was to cancel that one if I find something better... If not, well, pay for that one when the time comes and that's it!

Regarding plane tickets that was more tricky... As I don't have direct flights to Split, I had to improvise and find the best route to get there... The first idea was to go to Zagreb, and then fly or travel by bus/train to Split, but knowing how road transport can be in that part of the world, I decided to fly directly to Split... The two most rational routes were to go over Barcelona or Rome... The latest had better connections to my home, and it had a much better timetable (no flights crazy early in the morning, or late at night), so I will have a connecting flight in the capital of Italy! On my way there, I will have a couple of hours layover, so if the weather is fine, I could decide to go to the city!!! And probably meet @apshamilton at Rome airport as he will take the same flight as me!

Enough of the technical stuff! What do I expect from HiveFest? As this is my second HF (after Amsterdam 2022), and 4th bigger Hive Meetup (HiveBeeCon 2023, BuzzParty 2024), I'm not going all lost as the first time... When I went through the @hivefest24 wallet to check some of the Hivians who bought their tickets, I saw many usernames that I already know from previous events and I can't wait to meet them again!

Of course, I'm especially happy that I will meet some people for the first time! Among them is @achim03, who is my "business partner" in our @liotes adventure... We have been working together on that project for over 3 years, but we still haven't met each other IRL! To add more spice to that, we will present our Liotes project on HiveFest, Split, and TOGETHER!

Btw. that will add a completely different dimension to the whole event... When I went to my first HiveFest, I was one of the listeners and attendees... But this time, I'm going as a presenter, who is much more involved in HIVE than ever! Running a project, Hive-Engine tokens, running a Liotes Hive Witness node, etc.

All in all, I'm happy that I will be able to attend the event and happy that I will meet some old and new friends! I'm not sure who will attend as there is a possibility to buy HF tickets in different ways, but by checking the HiveFest24 account, I know that I will have a chance to meet again my dear friends: @livinguktaiwan, @bil.prag, @zirochka, @steevc, @foggymeadow and @hallmann, @growandbow and @llunasoul, @detlev, @alessandrawhite and @bitterirony, @louis88, etc.! And of course, to see some people that I haven't met yet as @achim03 and @forkyishere (@forykw), and some others!!!

If you are coming to Split and you are shy and don't know with whom to speak, come over and we will have a talk... I know exactly how it is to be there for the first time! 😃

Hahaha I recognize this one. I thought I would a 'small' powerdown to finace the tickets and then the hive price dropped and i needed to power down even more.

My attendance might not happen though so we might miss out on the beer.....

This is of course the evidence of growth. I have never attended Hivefest, but I was around to stream the second one organized by Hive, I think overtime, finding ways to thrive on Hive just helps you to be relevant.

Hopefully you'll get good weather for your travels.

Hey that stop on the flight you will make in Roma is promising, there are gelaterias inside the airport, sure you will run into a Venchi and you can enjoy a good ice cream right there. I think about it and I'm envious hahahaha.

I really like the idea of hearing what Liotes has prepared for the HiveFest, such a long awaited meeting between its creators has to be the best opportunity to shine 💯.
