This is the PHC Top 3’s application for @curie and @randomwanderings support. We are a team of 5 hard working steemians that have put together a contest for everyone on the steem blockchain to have fun, interact and maybe win some steem too.  @curie has some questions that we need to respond to so here they are:

What is your community / project and what is its purpose here on Steem?

The PHC Top 3 contest is designed to create a fun activity and generate funds for a prize pool incentive. The idea is to create a buzz on the Steem blockchain through thought and discussion on a popular mainstream topic, engagement through comments and upvotes, friendly competition in the form of a poll and rewards that the contest procedure itself generates.

How much support are you seeking per month for the two-month period?

The rules of this application state that we cannot ask for more than is currently offered, therefore we are asking the good people of curie to match the prize pool generated for that month. The last prize pool amounted to $16.11 but it will change each month.

How will this support be used?

We absolutely intend to grow the competition, so all resources are being poured right back in to the contest. The idea is that we grow the account so that support for our contestants increases thereby increasing the prize pool. When the prize pool grows the account will grow so the support increases and so on.

Approximately how many users participate in your community or project?

We are just completing our first month and we had 21 entries. We also had a number of enquiries and questions about the contest. We are hopeful, with Curie's help, that we will grow exponentially month on month.

How will supporting your community or project help grow the Steem community?

The five organisers are very active on other social media platforms with each member having already built a considerable following. We will be consistently promoting and advertising our contest with the intent on showing the Steem blockchain in a good light. Also, our contest creates a buzz. It encourages activity on the Steem blockchain through interaction and engagement. It introduces steemians to one another and gives them a common goal with a subject that the vast majority of people will relate to. 

Now a little bit about how the contest works.

What Is The PHC Top 3 All About?

In the Power House Creatives Discord, we love to talk about and rate our favourite movies, music and various other cool things. Many a time has been spent listing out our top picks but then we thought, “Why not expand this and let everyone have a go?” After much discussion about how we can expand this to the rest of the community, we decided to create the PHC Top 3 Monthly Contest, where you can join in the fun and win prizes as well. Each month, we'll start a new contest where we'll be asking you what your top 3 picks are for the chosen topic of that round by writing a blog post along with an entry fee. This entry fee is not only to make you eligible for the contest but to build the prize pool as well. The entry fee will be clarified when we start the contest but if your 3 nominations score the most points you can win a brilliant prize!

The Panel

The topic of each round, along with deciding the prizes, will be discussed between 5 members of the Power House Creatives, henceforth known as “The Panel”. So let’s meet them!

# How do Contestants Get Involved? Look out for the Contest Start Post on the first of each month. This will explain the topic for that month and what you will have to do to enter. # How Will It Work? This is not your average Top 3 quiz and the Panel have spent many an hour around the meeting room to decide on how it will work. ### Step 1 - Contest Start Post All steemians will need to keep a look out for our **Contest Start** post on the first of each month, this will mark the start of the contest and contain all the information about it! In this introduction post, we'll announce the topic for the contest where you'll need to nominate your top 3 selections. The topic could be anything from movies, music, food etc. ### Step 2 - Enter the Contest & Write About Your Top 3 To be eligible for the contest, you'll need to: * Create a blog post with your top 3 nominations along with your reasoning behind these nominations. * Split the post payout of your blog post 50/50 with the @phctop3 - this will be your entry fee and be added to the total prize pool for the month's contest.

### Step 3 - The Panel Decides Their Own Top 10 & DPoll Once all eligible submissions have been received, the Panel will get together and discuss their own top 10 from all the nominations. We'll record this discussion so you can hear how we came to decide the nominations for this top 10! This is just for a laugh and in no way will reflect the final outcome - you may berate our choices or agree with us, nothing like a healthy debate! Then it's up to to you, the PHC and Steem community, to vote for your favourites on the dpoll. This dpoll will feature all of the submitted nominations from the community so you will have a wide range of choices! ### Step 4 - DPoll Points System This is a revolutionary new system (OK, maybe not THAT revolutionary), concocted by the Panel (with the help of a few maths experts around the world) that we'll be using to decide the Top 3 Prize winners. Once the dpoll is completed, we'll add up the scores from the results and our internal points system, which we'll have more details about when we launch the poll. ### Step 5 - Prizes Prizes Prizes! Once we have tallied up the scores from the dpoll entrants, the prizes will be given out from the PHC Top 3 steem account to the top 3 places! The prizes get divided up by a combination of the final position (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and by the amount of entry fee given. The other 25% will be left for the Panel. However, as the aim is to grow the account to give bigger prizes and upvotes to contest entries, we'll be keeping the 25% in there.

We hope that you think that this is a comprehensive enough guide to our contest and that you think it worthy of consideration. Although we have only launched this month it has been a process that has taken weeks and weeks of discussion, planning, writing and creating. As a team we have had a lot of fun during this process even though it has required a lot of our time and effort.
