It's the first of the month, so to start off I powered up 50 Hive this morning. I now have over 8K HP as of this morning as well, so that was exciting! Happy Hive Power Up Day to all of you!
Now, moving on to the main part of today's post, a guide to Hive tipping tokens!
Hive Ecosystem Tipping Tokens
Ever since I began posting here on Hive, I have always enjoyed tipping tokens. It's fun to give a little something extra to a content creator beyond just a comment and a vote. More than two years have passed since that time, some projects have vanished completely and many more have been created to fill the voids that were left behind.
The list I'm compiling today is not by any means all inclusive. There are several projects I have not included for time constraints, and plan a follow up post on more of those projects in the near future. If you have a particular one you would like to know more about please let me know in the comments and I'll include it in my follow up post.
Now, to be perfectly transparent, I may have some bias in my selections today as they are projects I am involved in (i.e. DUO) or others I have invested in and currently hold tokens. As a matter of fact, all of today's selections I own some tokens and use the tipping function. That's why I plan to put together a follow up post about other tipping projects that I may not be utilizing, and I always love to learn about other projects.
First the basics for those completely new to tipping tokens. To make a call for a tip you use the exclamation mark followed by the name of the the token. For example, a call for BBH would be !BBH entered into the comments section when you respond to a post. Now lets' jump into some tokens:
DUO
A little over a year ago, together with @bitcoinman and @bulliontools , we created DUO token. It provides daily Hive dividends and curations on quality posts once you stake 200 DUO. However, all three of us were big fans of tipping tokens, so we included a tipping function as well. It starts once you have 500 staked DUO, and when you tip someone you receive the same amount of the tip staked in your account as well. You give and receive in kind!

As you can see the amount tipped isn't very high, but you have to keep in mind DUO is currently priced at 1 Hive each. It will continue to sell for 1 Hive each until this tranche of tokens is exhausted. Less than 6500 are left, then a new tranche is unlocked at the price of 1.5 Hive a piece. The 6500 will sell fast, don't say I didn't warn you!

PIMP
PIMP is an awesome project started and run by @enginewitty . He's a great guy who has put together a solid project. All PIMP tokens are backed by physical silver and Bitcoin, no one else can claim that. You can also receive daily Hive dividends if you are in the top 122 PIMP holders! Once you have at least 1000 staked PIMP you can use the call function and also receive the same tip amount staked in your account as well.
However, even with four calls a day the first one will always pay out 1 PIMP, the second 5 PIMP, the third 10 PIMP, and the fourth 20 PIMP.

UNICOIN
This is a newer token from @cryptounicorn420 . It is in test phase right now but in two or three days the final code should be ready to fly. This one will work by the amount HP you delegate to the project. The call for this one has a couple of options, one is !UNI the other !UNICOIN. You will also receive the same amount of the tip in your account as well just like in DUO and PIMP.

BBH
This projected was created by @bradleyarrow and has been going strong for several years now. This is one of my favorite tipping tokens because of the number of calls you can use daily. In my case I hold 50K BBH so I get 50 a day, which I honestly never exhaust. Here is the table on how BBH works, you must hold at least 1,000 to make a call.

LUV
This was one of the first projects I bought into as far as tipping tokens go. At the time it was far more expensive than it is now. As a matter of fact right now 750 LUV tokens are valued at less than $0.25. Once you have that many you can make 10 calls a day and are considered a "LUV Legend". This is an inexpensive way to get started with tipping other peoples quality content. Here's the table on how it works:

LOLZ
The LOLZ project has been around for a long time and they are a solid project. You can delegate tokens to them to farm for LOLZ in addition to tipping others with the tokens. I am not an expert of all the facets of this project, so for more info you will want to check the link I include below. But here is how the calls work, to start you need at least 16 LOLZ. I've been involved a long time and have over 6K tokens, I have faith in them as a project!

This is a project that I really should be more involved in but just forget to dive in deeper. I currently have 200 staked which gives me 10 calls a day, but there are other rewards possible including curation if you hold enough. I do not... You will want to check the table below if you want to get started, you need at least 20 staked to get tipping.

This token is the brainchild of my good friend @bitcoinman . It's a fun token with absolutely no utility, but it does give out a tip. Below is the table on amount to stake, for the lowest level you will need at least 2500 staked.

That will wrap up my HPUD and tipping token guide for today. Some notably absent tokens are BEER and LOH (Ladies of Hive). I haven't included them because I haven't yet gotten specifics on the tokens required to be held for tipping levels. I will have them included in my follow up post in one or two weeks from now. This is a token from the Hive Onboarding Committee (HOC). It offers curation, dividends, and a tipping bot for those who stake enough tokens. The overall purpose of the token is to stack enough HP to be able to assist the HOC in onboarding and retaining new members to Hive.
