Someone else's piece of bread always tastes better.

This rule works always and everywhere.

Чужой кусок хлеба всегда вкуснее - так культурно звучит русская поговорка. И это правило работает всегда и везде. И среди людей и среди животных. Даже деревья живут по этому правилу. Вот и голуби. Стараются урвать кусок из клюва соседа, в то время как хлеб лежит на земле. Но за этот кусок можно будет потом повоевать снова.

Вот и люди всегда стараются урвать свой кусок пирога потолще и пожирнее. Да еще чтоб этот кусок забрать у соседа.

Но бывают и исключения!!! Без них никак нельзя. Если бы не было исключений, то не было бы и правил тогда. И поэтому - И хлеба горбушку и ту пополам.
