Can't say I often listen to jazz, but I have several songs I love a lot, and one of them is Gloomy Sunday by Billie Holiday. Unusual rhythm, expressive storytelling, and the deep voice of the singer; it's about a person who is depressed because their lover passed away. The song even contains words about the darkest scenario: "Angels have no thoughts, Of ever returning you, Would they be angry, If I thought of joining you". To me, Gloomy Sunday is a little beautiful movie, charming and delicate, like velvet inside a lacquered coffin - an unusual, rare form of beauty.
