Making recycled pattern-making rulers with cardboard and paper✂️📏📐[ES/EN]

Hola hola mi gente querida les deseo un excelente fin de semana,espero se encuentren bien con la bendición de Dios,en este segmento les quiero mostrar un poco de este trabajo reciclado que hice ,como podrán ver se trata de hacer unas reglas curvas de modista con material de provecho.

Hello everyone! I wish you an excellent weekend. I hope you are all well and blessed by God. In this segment, I want to show you a little bit of this recycled project I did. As you can see, it's about making some curved dressmaker's rulers with repurposed materials.

Yo tenía ya mucho tiempo que no hacia este tipo de reglas y como trabajo con costura son muy necesarias ,a veces unos e descuida en las cosas que luego no vemos la necesidad,pero dije que era ya momento para tener a la mano mis reglas y decidí hacerlas de papel y cartón que yo tenia aqui en casa sin usar y bien guardado esperando poder usarlo en cualquier momento 😁.

It had been a long time since I'd made these kinds of rulers, and since I work with sewing, they're very necessary. Sometimes we neglect things and then we don't realize the need for them, but I said it was time to have my rulers on hand, so I decided to make them out of paper and cardboard that I had lying around at home, unused and well stored away, waiting to be used at any moment 😁.

Hay muchos tipos de reglas de modista usadas en el diseño y confección de prendas,y muchas sirven sobre todo las básicas para trazos de líneas curvas a la hora de patronar prendas de vestir (Curvas del costado de patrones como blusas, pantalón,mangas,entre otros.)

There are many types of dressmaker's rulers used in the design and making of garments, and many are useful, especially the basic ones, for drawing curved lines when drafting garment patterns (side curves of patterns such as blouses, pants, sleeves, among others).

Si te gustaría apreciar como quedan y el proceso sencillo que fué para mí hacerlas ,te invito a que te tomes unos minutos de tu tiempo y aprender a reciclar ese material que tienes guardado y piensas que no serviría para algo,a continuación les muestro los materiales y el proceso:

If you'd like to see how they turn out and the simple process it was for me to make them, I invite you to take a few minutes of your time and learn how to recycle that material you have stored away and think wouldn't be useful for anything. Below I show you the materials and the process:

Cartón delgado o grueso,del que tú tengas en casa
Tijeras
Silicón líquido
Patrones de dichas reglas previamente cortadas en papel
Lápiz y marcadores
Cúter u hojilla

Pasos a seguir: | Steps to follow:

Paso 01

Como primer paso , anteriormente en el curso de costura varias compañeras de clases llevaron sus reglas de plástico y to decidí pedirlas prestado para poder sacar el patrón así que si ustedes conocen a alguien que pueda prestarselas mucho mejor,otra manera es descargarlas en formato PDF y así poder descargarlas para luego imprimirlas y ya calcarlas en el papel,como tu prefieras.

Step 01

As a first step, several classmates brought their plastic rulers to the sewing course earlier, and I decided to borrow them to get the pattern. So, if you know someone who can lend them to you, even better. Another way is to download them in PDF format so you can print them and trace them onto paper, however you prefer.

Paso 02

Una vez tengo mis piezas listas procedí a pasarlas en un papel mucho mejor y más limpio y procedo a marcar las líneas de las reglas curva en este caso la grande como podrán ver en la imágen,luego las voy a ubicar en un trozo de cartón grueso en este caso fué el que yo tenía,y las pegaremos con silicón cada papel con la plantilla de la regla.

Step 02

Once I had my pieces ready, I proceeded to transfer them to a much better and cleaner piece of paper and then marked the lines of the curved rulers, in this case the large one as you can see in the image. Then I placed them on a piece of thick cardboard, in this case it was the one I had, and glued each piece of paper with the ruler template using silicone.

Paso 03

Pegué las primeras plantillas de la regla curva pequeña si podrán notar ambas tienen forma de gota y varios espacios con lineas curvas en el centro para trazos pequeños en el patronaje de dichas prendas donde requieran estas curvas,se me hizo un poco complicado luego cortar esta parte curva en el centro de cada regla ya que el espacio era muy pequeño por eso hice uso de mi hojilla con mucho cuidado.

I glued the first templates of the small curved ruler. As you can see, both are teardrop-shaped and have several spaces with curved lines in the center for small strokes in the pattern making of garments where these curves are required. It was a little complicated for me to then cut this curved part in the center of each ruler since the space was very small, so I used my blade very carefully.

Este proceso es un poco tardío pero los resultados son increíbles,luego vamos a pegar la otra regla curva mas grande en el otro cartón y lo pegaremos bien ,hacemos el mismo procedimiento que hicimos con las otras reglas,y para finalizar vamos a limar con una lima de manicure el borde del carton de laa reglas para quitarle el filo del cartón,con esto tenemos nuestras reglas listas.

This process is a bit time-consuming, but the results are incredible. Next, we'll glue the other, larger curved ruler onto the other piece of cardboard and secure it well. We'll repeat the same procedure as with the other rulers, and finally, we'll use a manicure file to smooth the edge of the cardboard rulers to remove the sharp edges. With this, our rulers are ready.

Miren como nos queda nuestras reglas listas con cartón reciclado,si como estás puedes hacer otros modelos con el método que te indiqué de pedirlas prestadas a quien conozcas que tenga reglas ,o simplemente imprimirlas en,espero les haya gustado como quedaron 😊a mi me gustaron mucho y ahora sí podré hacer uso de ellas cuando haga patrones.

Look how our rulers turned out, made with recycled cardboard! If you're like these, you can make other models using the method I showed you: borrowing them from someone you know who has rulers, or simply printing them out. I hope you liked how they turned out 😊 I liked them a lot and now I can use them when I make patterns.
