Hi everyone, I’m back again to fulfill a special request for my nephew. He wanted some tank tops, and—being an indulgent aunt—I’m going to make him several; here, I’m showing you how I put one of them together.
For this garment, I used "micro-peach" fabric combined with mesh; this mix gives the tank top a sporty look, similar to basketball jerseys. Both fabrics are gray. I frequently use micro-peach fabric in my sewing projects because it is comfortable and breathable, so I often have leftover scraps—neither too small nor too large—that I save for later use. In this instance, I had enough material for a small-sized garment, and I decided to combine the fabrics to create a style that was a bit more interesting than a basic design.

Paso nro 1
Step nro 1
To begin, you need another tank top to use as a guide for measurements—or a pattern—so you can mark the two main body panels on the fabric, as well as the bias strips (one for the neckline and two for the armholes). Finally, cut the two side panels (the rib sections) from the mesh fabric.

Step nro 2
Next, I started by sewing the mesh fabric sections—stitching them at the sides—and then I sewed the two parts of the tank top together at the shoulders before finally sewing the side seams to shape the garment.
Paso nro 3
Step nro 3
Proceed by sewing the neck binding first, followed by the armhole binding, to achieve a neater or cleaner finish.

Even though it’s a simple garment, I added some details to make it look a bit more eye-catching... Since it’s for a child. Just as I made this tank top, you’re all invited to make one too; it’s simple—you just need to add a touch of your own creativity. I hope the client really likes it, and that you do too! ☺️🥰 See you later, Hive community! 🤗
