Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing fine. I would like to share with you our weekend getaway.
We decided to spend the weekend in Italy! Since it was only a short getaway, we wanted to keep things simple and convenient, so we booked a cozy Airbnb around Rho, just outside Milan.
With only a few days to explore, we weren’t looking to squeeze in every tourist attraction. Instead, we wanted to slow down, wander around, enjoy some good Italian food, and experience the local side of Italy, even if it was just for the weekend.
And one of our best discoveries? A highly rated local restaurant that we found through Google. Sometimes, the best travel experiences are the ones you stumble upon when you’re simply looking for a good place to eat!
We saw so many beautiful restaurants around Rho, and honestly, choosing where to eat wasn’t easy! But we eventually picked Ristorante Pizzeria Visconti because they had one of our favorites—seafood pasta.
So, we decided to simply walk to the restaurant and enjoy the evening along the way. We arrived a little earlier than our expected time, but thankfully, they were happy to welcome us in. We chose to sit outside, which made the experience even more enjoyable. There’s just something special about dining outdoors in Italy!
While we looked through the menu and decided what to order, we started with our favorite Italian drink—an Aperol Spritz. Whenever we’re in Italy, an Aperol is almost a must for us. It’s the perfect way to start a relaxed evening, especially when you’re on a weekend getaway.
With our drinks in hand, we took our time looking through the menu, excited to see what the evening would bring.
After a few minutes, the waiter came by and took our order. While we waited, they brought us some complimentary bread, which was a lovely little touch. Of course, we couldn’t resist having a few bites while waiting for our food!
Then, finally, our dishes arrived—and we were instantly excited. The presentation alone made us even more hungry! 😍 Everything looked so fresh and delicious that we couldn’t wait to dig in.
We started with the mussels, and they were really good—fresh, flavorful, and just what we were hoping for. Then came the lobster pasta, which was the dish we were especially looking forward to.
And yes, it did not disappoint! The pasta was delicious, and the combination of seafood and pasta made it such a satisfying meal. It was one of those moments when you take the first bite and immediately think, “Yep, we chose the right restaurant!”
To end our meal, we ordered one of our all-time favorites—tiramisu! Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying it. Even though we were already so full, there’s always a little extra room for dessert, especially when you’re in Italy!
The tiramisu was the perfect way to finish our dinner. After enjoying the mussels, lobster pasta, and our Aperol Spritz, we were completely satisfied.
Everything we ordered was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely, and the whole experience was absolutely worth it. Sometimes, a simple dinner at a local restaurant can become one of the highlights of a short trip.
Our weekend in Italy may have been short, but this meal was definitely one of the memories we’ll take home with us.
