Hello, @hivefood community! I'm back to share a recipe we cooked last night—a dish that served as our main course for dinner and lasted until the next morning.
My husband brought ingredients for us to cook that night, including squid, mushrooms with sponge gourd and lagikway leaves, and three slices of fish. We really planned to cook everything because we don't have a freezer at home yet, we haven't been able to purchase one due to financial constraints. Whenever we need to freeze something, I simply use my sister-in-law's freezer.
I washed everything he brought and prepared everything he needed for cooking, because I knew he was tired from a long day at work. We cooked together this time, taking turns looking after our energetic child, haha.
The first thing we cooked was squid adobo, then mushroom soup with veggies, and the third was fried fish. **I'll share the procedure below, mwehe. ><
Squid Adobo
Ingredients
- Fresh squid
- Vinegar
- Soy sauce
- Slice Ginger, onion, & garlic
- Sugar
- Laurel
- Chili (optional)
- Seasoning
Procedure
- Saute the garlic, onion, and ginger with the squid, then add a pinch of salt and soy sauce. Yeah, it turns black from the squid ink, but it's still delicious because the adobo has that soy sauce flavor.
- Add water according to your preference.
- Wait for the water to boil, then add the vinegar.
- Wait another 2-3 minutes, then add the sugar and chili. Taste and adjust the seasoning, and it's ready to serve. :)
That's how easy to cook the Adobong squid because it shouldn't be cooked for too long or it will toughen.
Mushroom with Veggies.
Ingredients
- Mushroom
- Lagikway leaves
- Sponge gourd
- Oil, garlic, onion.
- Seasoning (salt, msg, magic sarap.)
Procedure
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté the garlic and onion with mushrooms. Add the lagikway leaves and sponge gourd as well. Season to taste and add broth or water. Once it boil, it is cooked and ready to serve. :)
Procedure
- Wash the fish thoroughly, season with salt and magic sarap, and let it marinate for 20 minutes before frying. This will make the fish taste even better. ;)
I really enjoyed the savory sauce of the squid adobo and mushroom dish we had for dinner! Yuummmm! 😋
I was happy he brought ingredients for us to cook, since he knows I don't cook when I'm home alone— I usually just buy canned goods, noodles or eggs from tyangge.
That's all for today, I hope you like my recipe! also, I just want to say Thank you for supporting my post. Till my next blog again, Peace and Love. 🫰🏻✨
