This is the view that makes us very shocked and felt very sad. All of the vine vegetables are already reached by flood water and it will expectedly takes many weeks before this place will completely dry. Even if this plant can survived by water or dry season, still it can't avoided that most of it will be damage and rotten. Dirty water will submerged this vegetables and it is not really safe to eat this vegetables because the water is already contaminated.
Alugbati vegetable vines are also submerged at the flood water leaving this mud on the leaves of the vegetables. The last time saw this place was perfectly cultivated and loosen the soil, but now the soil was already washed away and mud covered some of the leaves. The entire Garden plot was already muddy and the loosen soil was vanished. This time it is hard to cultivate the place again because it is still muddy and it really needs to wait many weeks before it will completely dry. Despite of the bad scenarios happens here at my Grandma's garden, still this vine vegetable keeps surviving on floody situations and loosen the soil by next time.
The loosen soil in this lemon-grass was also washed away by flood water. This area here is also reached by flood water from the canal but it will dry instantly compare to other parts of the garden that takes many weeks before it will completely dried. Wild grass has already grows and it really needs to pulled it out. Lemon-grass are not really more affected on the flood because it is planted at the high areas of the place. To make it really more attractive to see, my Grandma cut those dry lemon-grass leaves and used as an organic fertilizer to the vegetables.
Despite of the sad views of the Garden, there is also a happiness on my Grandma's face because some of the her okra plants are keep producing okra vegetables just like this one. The last time I seen this plant, it was still flowers but now okra vegetables are already came out. Luckily this plants wont affected by flood and it still produced young leaves. Checking the leaves to see if there are small insects living on it is very important to keep okra vegetables safe from harmful animals.
Chilli peppers are still producing lots of chillies and most of it are already ripe one. Some of it are already harvested last day and the only it left are yellow green one. Today, me and my Grandma was decided to checked her chilli plants and another ripe one are ready to pick and harvest. The next thing we will do is to sell some of it if we harvested lots of chilli. It takes almost half an hour of doing chilli harvesting.
Grandma also planted this Bawing plants and it grows very healthy producing lots of leaves. This plant also safe from the flood because it is planted at the big cracked concrete tub and it is also secured from animals like dogs. Even if it is not demand on the market, she still planting it and it can used as an Ingredient for fish soup.
My Grandma also loves recycling in fact there are lots of trash are well recycled and used to plant some of the ornamental plants and vegetables she have here. This are some of the trash she recycled and it is a kind of small pail of paint. It will very easy to transferred from one place to another because it is well potted.
Despite of the minor problem, still we kept ourselves positively vibes always and to cultivate the place again soon as the areas will completely dry. Until next post, have a nice day to all of us.
