Thursday I wasn’t moving too well due to poor night’s sleep. I didn’t get up until after 7AM to see someone’s almost expiration. Once he was fed, I checked e-mail and had to sit down a while. Then I got a load in the dishwasher. Not much else got done until my #4 helper arrived at 1:30PM.
First thing we went out to harvest broccoli and get it soaking. Next was to decant and strain the vinegar. Some of the mothers had gone off, I think the jars were filled too full (near the top). Some mothers we could save, washing them with filtered water but 2 had to be discarded. The jars went to the root cellar.
Then I got started cleaning up the broccoli for blanching and she went to do errands. I had it nearly done when she got back. I sat down while she made a quick supper for me, and then did some cleaning.
I got the supper eaten, the cat fed, and sat down to watch the first part of “Atlas Shrugged”. I was in bed around 8PM.
My #2 intern will be here at 8AM on Friday and we are tackling the Little Trees II again.
Big garden – white pumpkins
In the afternoon my #3 helper arrives just after noontime and we are harvesting the pumpkins for decorations.
That ought to completely finish me off…
