West Herb garden - elecampane
On Friday morning I was up at 4:40AM and got my post up. I got the milk order done, had some breakfast and decided to finally finish the bills/budget for May and June.
It had been smoky in the morning so I didn’t go outside. It cleared off in the afternoon but my helper #3 arrived at 12:30PM. I had her vacuum and water house plants. I was very tired and she left early so I could nap before the concert at 6PM.

For the last few years our town has sponsored free concerts on Friday nights once a month during the summer. The concert for July was one both my brother and I wanted to see.
So I got up at 4:45PM to make some supper and get ready to go around 5:30PM, when my brother hoped to be home from work. But his day ran long so he dashed in right before 6PM and we headed out at 6PM.

We found a nice place to sit under some trees in the shade and had only missed the first couple songs. There were a lot of people from the Senior center there plus families and lots of kids.

Three of the kids had these scooters and had a blast racing along the encircling sidewalks. They were fascinating to watch, how easily they were propelled along.
I had been scanning the crowd for people I knew and my old carpenter and his wife were there. During the break my brother and I wandered around saying hi to people and went over to the carpenter. I had seen a woman with them and thought she looked a bit like my home helper from years ago.
It turns out, it WAS my home helper from years ago. She had moved to Maine with her husband a few years back and had come back for a visit.
So we sat and visited with them through the whole second half of the concert.

She took this photo of my brother and I.
We headed home at 8PM when the concert was over. I opened the house up for a change as the smoke isn’t due to arrive until morning.
My home helper had planned to visit me on Saturday morning before heading back to Maine. She’s still going to come to the farm on Saturday.
My #2 intern will be here at 6:30AM and we must get the plants moved into the New North II garden. My #1 intern and her boyfriend are coming to get heavy stuff out of the cellar to go to the dump on Saturday. The smoke will move in during the early morning and then thunderstorms are expected to disperse it during the afternoon.
I should be good and wiped out by afternoon.
