Happy Tuesday Hivers!
Hindang is the municipality where the barangay we live in is located. It is best known for its wild monkeys and fascinating caves, with more than two caves waiting to be explored within the municipality.

However, today's adventure isn't about cave exploration. Instead, we're heading to the Hindang Baywalk, where we can enjoy the refreshing sea breeze, admire the relaxing scenery, and take a leisurely stroll.
So, come along and let's take a stroll around Hindang Baywalk!

From our house, you can either walk or take a tricycle or a mini bus to reach Hindang Baywalk. If you choose to walk, it will take approximately 45 minutes, depending on your pace.
All public transportation routes pass by Hindang Baywalk, making it very convenient to visit. Since it's located right along the main road, it's easy to find, even if it's your first time visiting the place.

Although I've been living in Leyte for almost a year now, it was only yesterday that I had the chance to explore Hindang Baywalk for the first time. I was getting bored staying at home, so I asked my mom if we could take a stroll around the baywalk. Without hesitation, she immediately agreed. She also wanted to buy some barbecue for our dinner, so it was the perfect opportunity for both of us to go out.

When we arrived at the baywalk, it was still quite early, so there were only a few people around. I actually enjoyed it because the place was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing walk without the usual crowd.

According to my mom, Hindang Baywalk used to be much livelier. Back when it was newly opened, there were many food stalls and the place was always bustling with visitors. However, as time passed, fewer people came to hang out there. As a result, most of the food stalls eventually closed, and today, only one food stall remains.

My mom had a chance to chat with the owner of the food stall since they already knew each other. During their conversation, my mom mentioned that the baywalk might become lively again once they start having live band performances.

The owner smiled and said that they do have plans to bring back live entertainment. They are just waiting for the roof of the stage to be completed, as construction is still ongoing. Hopefully, once everything is finished, the live band performances will attract more visitors and bring back the vibrant atmosphere.
We continued our stroll along the baywalk and eventually came across a children's playground. Since it was a school day, the playground was very quiet, with hardly any children around. It gave the place a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

We also noticed a decorative bridge, so my mom and I decided to walk up and cross it. I'm glad we did because it offered a wonderful view of the entire baywalk. From the top of the bridge, we could appreciate the scenery even more and enjoy the refreshing breeze.

Another feature that caught our attention was the fountain, which added a nice touch to the baywalk and made the area even more pleasant to explore.

After exploring the baywalk, we stopped by the food stall to pick up the barbecue we had ordered earlier. Aside from barbecue, the stall also serves a variety of short-order meals and offers alcoholic beverages, making it a spot for visitors looking to enjoy a meal while relaxing by the bay.

Once we got our order, we headed to the nearby port. Although the port is still under construction, it has already become a favorite hangout spot, especially in the late afternoon. Many people gather there to unwind, enjoy the cool sea breeze, and take in the beautiful coastal views as the day comes to an end.

According to my younger sibling, their friends often come here in the late afternoon to fish. In fact, many young people in the area enjoy fishing at the port because they actually manage to catch fish. It's not just a place to relax and enjoy the view, it's also a great spot for those who love fishing while spending time with friends.

After exploring the area, my mom and I decided it was time to head home since it was already getting dark.
Honestly, I really enjoyed our visit to Hindang Baywalk. It's a wonderful place to take a leisurely stroll or simply sit back and relax. Aside from the fresh sea breeze, the beautiful coastal view makes it an ideal spot to unwind and escape the stress of everyday life.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
