So this episode begins with both young people asking for help from their cousin and their best friend, respectively, to help them pick out an outfit that will make a great impression on the other person. Both Oshio and Koharu want everything to go perfectly and are concerned about even the smallest details.
Koharu asks her cousin Rinka for help, and we see that this sets the stage for a bit of a mess that’s sure to get interesting in the coming episodes. As we’ve seen, Rinka has developed feelings for Oshio after he saved her from an accident. Rinka, who had been prejudiced against Oshio without even getting to know him first, fell head over heels as if Cupid himself had shot one of his arrows.
When they both finished their respective shopping, it just so happened that the stores they’d visited were right next to each other, and as they walked out, they saw each other in the outfits they’d planned to wear on their date. As expected, they both look spectacular and can’t hide for even a second just how beautiful they look. So the two lovers blush redder than a tomato.
Something that struck me as odd in this episode was the conversation Koharu had with her father. Since she came home late from shopping, Koharu’s father scolded her, but then he talked to her about manners and not acting on impulse—which I found strange because I don’t think that conversation was related to what we were watching. Or maybe it was a little, but it still seemed odd to me.
Meanwhile, Oshio hangs out with his best friend’s sister, who is also best friends with the manager of the store where he bought his clothes. The two of them chat with him and ask him about his relationship with Koharu. One of them, who had been drinking liquor, grabbed Oshio’s cell phone and sent a message to Koharu declaring his love. And this is where Oshio acts on his emotions and decides to take a step forward—even though he hadn’t intended to confess his feelings to Koharu, he decides to call her and tell her that he’s loved her from the very first moment he saw her.
And that’s how the episode ends. While it’s true that the episode is entertaining, there are a few aspects that feel a bit weak in terms of the narrative or the way the characters develop. See you soon.
