Celebrating the Virgin of the East
Hello, my lovely @lifestyle followers—it’s a pleasure to visit you today. I hope you have a wonderful week, full of blessings and joy. I’m stopping by to show you these beautiful photos we took on the Feast of Our Lady of the Valley, last September 8.
It’s been a tradition for many years for the faithful believers of the Virgin Mary in the East to go out on this special date to celebrate her day—which, by the way, also marks her nativity.
We went to the church named after her, Virgen del Valle, where they hold various activities. We arrived a little late that day, and the procession had already started, so we waited for it and, in the meantime, took these beautiful photos of the church.
That day, I wore that blouse for the first time—one I’d made a while back—and it looked really cool on me, even though it felt a little loose; still, I took the opportunity to snap some photos so I could show you the process later.
While we waited, we heard fireworks, and the power went out for quite a while. Some girls who looked like they were from a dance school were having a “aura battle.”
The procession arrived, and there were lots of people accompanying the Virgin, who looked beautiful. Despite the darkness, we took some photos; just as I was about to take a picture with my princesses, the lights came back on.
The Little Virgin wore a gorgeous dress, with lots of embellishments, sparkles, and very special hand-drawn designs. There was no shortage of flowers—all white—which gave her a divine majesty. All the decorations around her were spectacular; at the Virgin’s feet was a small, hand-knitted figure of the Virgin—it looked so delicate, and you could really see the work that went into it; I can only imagine the love that was poured into every stitch.
They didn’t hold any more Mass—it was already late—so we stayed a little longer and then took some photos in front of the pedestal where they display the Virgin, and the photos turned out really nice.
Afterward, we went to grab a bite to eat on Calle del Hambre to wrap up the day. All in all, we had a wonderful time as a family, carrying on this tradition of faith—one I hope will continue for many more years to come.
Well, friends, that’s all for today. I hope to show you soon how we enjoyed the celebrations for Our Lady of Coromoto, the patron saint of Venezuela. Thank you for visiting.
