Today I’m here to show you how to make your own crocheted eyeglass clip—it’s easy to make! I’ll walk you through it step by step because I’ve already made one for my sister and another for myself. It’s a handmade accessory—so cheerful, beautiful, and practical. This eyeglass clip is very functional; you can use it to take a break from wearing your glasses for a moment, or to keep them handy when you’re at the office or out and about. It’s better for us this way so we don’t waste time rummaging through our purses looking for the glasses case—just clip the brooch onto your clothes or a bag, and the frame or arms of your glasses will hang directly through the crocheted bottom loop. It’s super easy.

Now let’s get to work—here’s the step-by-step guide. I promise you’ll love them.

Muy feliz día, mis amigos artesanos de esta linda comunidad #Hive y #Needleworkmonday, espero hayan pasado una hermosa semana, de mi parte reciban un gran abrazo y que todos se encuentren muy bien de salud y con mucha prosperidad, y que Dios los bendiga a todos.

En este día vengo a mostrarle, como hacer su propio broche sujetador de lentes (o gafas) tejido a crochet y fácil de realizar, les mostraré el paso a paso porque ya hice una para mi hermana y otro para uso personal, es un accesorio artesanal, muy jovial, tan bonito y práctico broche sujetador o porta lentes, es muy funcional, los puedes utilizar para descansar un momento del uso de las gafas, o de tenerlas a la mano cuando estes en la oficina o en la calle, es mejor para nosotras así no perdemos tiempo abriendo las carteras, para buscar el estuche de las gafas, solo con colocar el broche en nuestra ropa o a algún bolso, colocaremos la montura o pata de tus lentes se cuelga directamente a través del aro inferior tejido, super fácil.

Ahora manos a la obra y aquí tienes el paso a paso. Les aseguro que les van a encantar.

🧶Materials.//🧶 Materiales.

Green crochet yarn Orange crochet yarn. 2.00 mm crochet hook. Metal brooch base or safety pin. Wool needle. Scissors. Craft glue.

Hilo crochet color verde Hilo crochet color naranja. Ganchillo de 2.00 mm. Base de broche metálico o imperdible. Aguja lanera. Tijeras. Pegamento para tejido.

Step by Step.//Paso a Paso.

1.- Make a base loop to hold the clip; this loop is used to secure the temple of the glasses. Take the thread and wrap it around two fingers on your hand; I made twelve wraps.

1.- Hacer un aro de base para el soporte del broche sujetador, este tiene la función de sostener la pata de los lentes. Tomar el hilo y darle las vueltas alredor de los dos dedos de nuestra mano, yo hice doce vueltas.

Next, using the crochet hook, we'll work single crochet stitches until the entire ring is filled—enough so that it's very sturdy and can support the weight of the glasses.

Luego con el ganchillo vamos a realizar puntos bajos hasta rellenar todo el anillo, las suficientes para que nos queden muy resistente y pueda aguantar el peso de los lentes.

Next, work nine single crochets, which will serve as the base for attaching the safety pin or hook. Work four rounds; when you reach the second round, attach the hook and crochet over the single crochets to secure it.

Seguidamente hacer nueve puntos bajos , la cual será la base para colocar el imperdible o gancho, realice cuatros vueltas, cuando lleguemos a la vuelta segunda vuelta colocaremos el gancho y sobre tejer en el puntos bajos para ajustarlo.

This is how the safety pin will look at the base.

Asi nos quedará el imperdible en la base.

2.- Make a rolled rose using orange yarn—it’s a very eye-catching and easy rose.

We’ll start with the orange yarn to make the rose. Make a slip knot, then chain four stitches. Next, go back to the first stitch and work a double crochet, followed by three chain stitches. Go back to the first stitch and make a loop where you’ll work a double crochet.

Repeat these steps of double crochets and chain stitches until you have a total of ten loops.

2.- Realizar una rosa enrollada con el color del hilo naranja, una rosa muy vistosa y fácil.

Iniciaremos con el hilo color naranja para elaborar la rosa, haremos un nudo corredizo, luego tejer cuatro puntos de cadenas, seguidamente vamos a devolver al primer punto y levantar un punto alto, seguidamente tres cadenas, nos devolvemos al primer punto y hacer lazada donde haré un punto alto.

Así vamos a repetir estos pasos de los puntos altos y cadenas, para obtener la cantidad de diez argollas.

Next, in the second round using two chain stitches, we’ll turn the base and work the first loop: six double crochets, two chain stitches plus one single crochet, one single crochet, two chain stitches, six double crochets, two chain stitches, one single crochet. We’ll continue repeating this process, and when we reach the eighth loop, we’ll close it with a slip stitch and fasten off the orange yarn.

Seguidamente en la segunda vuelta con dos cadenas, vamos a girar la base y realizaremos la primera argolla seis puntos altos, dos cadenas más un punto bajo, un punto bajo, dos cadenas, seis puntos altos, dos cadenas, un punto bajo y así vamos a proceder a repetir el mismo proceso, al llegar a la octava argolla cerramos con un punto deslizado y rematamos el hilo naranja.

3.- We’ll use the two remaining rings to make the rose’s petals.

Work with the green yarn again on the mini leaves. Start by matching the color to the ring; with a single crochet, make three chain stitches, two double crochets, three chain stitches, and pick up two loops from the double crochet—this stitch is called a picot stitch. Make two double crochets and one single crochet. Repeat on the next ring. Close with a slip knot, fasten off, and weave in the ends.

3.- Usaremos los dos aros restantes para realizar las hojas de la rosa.

Trabajar con el color verde de nuevo en las mini hojitas, comenzar ajustando el color a la argolla, con un punto bajo, realizar tres puntos cadenas, dos puntos altos, tres puntos cadenas y agarrar dos lazadas del punto alto, esta puntada se llama punto picot, hacer dos puntos altos y un punto bajo, repetir en la siguiente argolla, cerramos con un nudo deslizado y rematar y esconder el hilo.

4.- Assemble the brooch completely. Using the orange yarn, we’ll shape the rose. With the help of the yarn needle, we’ll sew it, rolling it from the inside out along the right side of the fabric. This way, we’ll achieve the perfect shape, ensuring it’s snugly fitted as we sew along the back of the rose.

4.- Ensamblar el broche por completo. Con el color naranja le daremos la forma a la rosa, con ayuda de la aguja lanera vamos a coser, procedemos a enrollar de adentro hacia afuera, por la parte derecha del tejido, y así logramos obtener la forma perfecta, bien ajustada al coser por la parte de atrás de la rosa.

The rose is beautiful; we're almost there.

Hermosa la rosa, ya nos falta poco.

It's time to finish the project. Apply a generous amount of glue to the base of the ring and place the rose on it. Let it sit for a good while so it sticks really well.

Ya es la hora, de terminar la obra, con el pegamento en la base del aro le colocaremos un toque generoso y colocaremos la rosa, dejamos un buen ratito para que se fije super bien.
