Giving My Outfits a New Twist with Recycled Floral Accessories.
Greetings, friends who love crafts.💁☀️
Happy Saturday, everyone!
I have always liked changing up my everyday outfits with different accessories, especially necklaces and earrings. That is why I decided to make this set using recycled nylon, inspired by flowers, so I could have different options to combine with my clothes.
I invite you to join me and see how I made this lovely floral accessory set. Let’s begin!
✨Materials:
- Recycled nylon in different colors: white, yellow, and red. (To prepare it, we cut the nylon continuously into strips approximately half a centimeter wide and wind it onto a spool.)
- Knitting needle.
- Scissors.
✨How to make it:
To make this project, we will divide the process into two parts. First, we will make the three flowers that form the set: two for the earrings and one, slightly larger, to use as the necklace pendant. Then we will make the necklace cord and assemble the pieces.
Steps to make the flowers🌸:
We begin by making the center of the flower. To do this, we form a ring with a chain of 5 stitches and close it with a slip stitch.
Then we chain 3 stitches and crochet 7 half double crochets inside the ring. We close the round with a slip stitch.
For the next round, we chain 3 stitches again and make an increase in each space from the previous round, until we have a total of 15 half double crochets, counting the initial chain. We close with a slip stitch.
Once the center is finished, we cut the white nylon and change to red to begin forming the petals.
We chain 4 stitches and, in the next space, crochet 3 double crochets. Then we move down to the following space with a chain of 4 stitches and close with a slip stitch.
From that same space, we chain 4 stitches again and, in the next space, crochet 3 double crochets. We move down to the following space with a chain of 4 stitches and close with a slip stitch.
We continue repeating this sequence around the center until we complete 5 petals.
The flower we will use as the necklace pendant is made in a similar way, but it will be slightly larger. For this one, we form a ring with a chain of 6 stitches and close it with a slip stitch. Then we chain 3 stitches and crochet 9 half double crochets inside the ring, closing with a slip stitch. From here, we continue in a similar way until completing the 5 petals.
To finish the flowers, we close the last petal with a slip stitch and make a chain of 10 stitches, closing it at the same point with a slip stitch. This loop will allow us to attach the earring flowers to jump rings or earring findings and connect the large flower to the necklace.
Steps to make the necklace cord:
For the necklace, we can use a cord we already have available or make a crocheted chain using nylon.
In this case, we make it with white nylon and the same knitting needle, forming the stitches one by one until reaching the desired length. For this design, we use approximately 45 centimeters, which is enough to place it around the neck and tie it.
Once the cord and flowers are finished, we assemble the pieces. We place the larger flower in the center of the cord to form the pendant and add the corresponding jump rings or earring findings to the earrings.
As you can see, we can play with colors and create different combinations. For example, we can make the center yellow and the petals white, or change the shades to give each set its own style.
Well, friends, I hope you enjoyed this project and that you feel inspired to make it at home and create new accessories for everyday wear.
I wish you positive vibes. A big hug!💁🌈
