Today I want to share with you a new addition to the Minueto Scores catalog: an arrangement for flute and piano of the renowned piece "Comptine d'un autre été : l'après-midi" (Children's Song from Another Summer: The Afternoon), originally composed by Yann Tiersen. As a great admirer of Tiersen's work, it is a true pleasure to adapt such a beautiful and melancholic piece, known worldwide for being part of the soundtrack of the film Amélie, to this duo format.
Technical and Interpretive Approach: In this arrangement, the piano maintains the original accompaniment, preserving the melancholic and flowing atmosphere of the original work. Meanwhile, the flute takes center stage, performing the emotive main melody.
The piece demands great sensitivity from both performers, highlighting dynamic contrasts ranging from piano (p) and mezzo-piano (mp) to forte (f), concluding with a delicate pianissimo (pp). This interplay requires very careful phrasing and excellent breath control from the flautist, paying particular attention to breathing during the rallentando passages, before naturally returning to the original tempo (a tempo) at a steady speed of 100 BPM.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una nueva entrega para el catálogo de Minueto Scores: un arreglo para Flauta y Piano de la reconocida pieza "Comptine d'un autre été : l'après-midi"(Canción infantil de otro verano: La tarde), compuesta originalmente por Yann Tiersen. Siendo un gran admirador de la obra de Tiersen, es un verdadero placer adaptar a este formato de dúo un tema tan hermoso y melancólico, mundialmente conocido por formar parte de la banda sonora de la película Amélie.
Enfoque técnico e interpretativo: En este arreglo, el piano mantiene el acompañamiento original, conservando la atmósfera melancólica y fluida de la obra original. Por su parte, la flauta asume el rol protagonista, encargándose de interpretar la emotiva melodía principal.
La pieza exige una gran sensibilidad por parte de ambos intérpretes, destacando contrastes dinámicos que van desde el piano (p) y el mezzo-piano (mp) hasta el forte (f), para terminar cerrando con un delicado pianissimo (pp). Esta interacción requiere un fraseo muy cuidadoso y un excelente control del aire por parte del flautista, prestando especial atención a la respiración en los pasajes con rallentando, para luego retomar con naturalidad el flujo original (a tempo) a una velocidad estable de 100 BPM.
