Hello Hive

Happy Sunday to the beautiful people of this community, I hope that we are all resting and enjoying the calmness of the Sunday.
Today I wore this beautiful dress to church today and alot of people admired it. More because of the sleeve.

I equally ties a stylish hair scarf according to the cultural way we tie our head hear and this is how my Sunday went.

This dress was sewn a while back in the month of May when I had wanted to use it for May Cultural Sunday
but it was never ready for that purpose. I have cut and sewn the dress but lack inspiration on how to complete it. I also wished that it got some embellishments too but the items for embellishments are quite expensive now.

Here came June again and as every last Sunday is a Thanksgiving Sunday I have to dress in native attire or cultural wear. Rather than staying stranded I decided to try my hands as completing this outfit to wear it to church today

With the other parts being ready I cut out a papper pattern here, working and learning at the same time.
I drafted the petal sleeve pattern on the paper and then transfered it to the fabric

I had cut out 2pairs of the above. 2pieces that will go for each sleeve to create an overlapp that will form a petal shape

This is what the overlapping looks like.

Next I turned them over with a lining and crossed the here

Picking each of the sleeves I attached them to the armhole of the dress and this is what it looks like afterwards.

To complete the dress I fixed up the zipper, closed and stitched the seam lines and hemming here.

Having done that, I was meant to add some embellishments on the clothes, but that was aborted as I didn't have any embellishments at home and I can't afford to purchase any at the moment. I'm glad that a few people equally appreciated my outlook and admired the dress.
So I have a beauun cultural wear now.
