There is always a way that looking good makes one feel confident about themselves, especially in the midst of social gatherings, there is a way that appearance can make us feel a little more comfortable.
We don't have to spend so much to look good, and I like that phrase that that was used to teach us as children that cleanliness is next to godliness.
Each and every Sunday our choir appear in uniform, singing and exalting God. This is my outfit to church for yesterday service. We were asked to wear a simple black skirt and white blouse with our matching blue berret.
I already have a black skirt but no blouse yet. I was so surprised to notice that I do not have a white blouse all these days that I have been in the choir. I got a cheap fabric for $2 and it was enough to sew a blouse for me
I started by folding the linings and cutting out a princess dart lines on the outfit.
After cutting the linings accurately I now placed it in the main fabric and used it to cut the fabric.
I prefer to cut the linings first so that if I make any mistake it can be corrected on the lining before transferring to the main clothes .
Sometimes I use pattern paper to achieve this. If you make mistakes on paper or lining those ones are cheape4 and can be discarded but if you make mistakes on your main fabric, it might get damaged beyond repair. After cutting the fabric I started stitching each piece together.
After joining the princess dartlines I proceeded to cut the sleeves.
Both of the sleeves had their own lining each which I then took to the sewing machine and used it to join them.
I struggled a little with the sleeves as the fabric wasn't enough for what I wanted to cut the width of the cap of the sleeve
I placed all the bodice together and measured out all the parts to ensure that they were accurate. Then I joined all the shoulders together and then moved to attach the sleeves
The entire piece came together after attaching the sleeve and this was me in my outfit on a Sunday morning.
I like that fact that the fabric is a glittery one making the simple blouse to glitter and shine. My room mate also loves the blouse too.
