Hello gente bella de Hive y Hive Margarita! Tenía rato sin pasar por la comunidad porque últimamente no estoy saliendo mucho, pero el fin de semana pasado, mi hijo Matías, quien tiene más vida social que yo, recibió una invitación de su grupo de amigos para reunirse en el C.C. La Vela para conocer el nuevo Arcade, un lugar lleno de diversión para chicos y no tan chicos, y por mi parte mientras Matías disfrutaba con sus amigos, mi esposo mi hija y yo aprovecharíamos de buscar unas cositas que faltaban para el inicio a clases e ir por primera vez a las recién inauguradas salas de cine (era el plan).

Hello, wonderful people of Hive and Hive Margarita! It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by the community because I haven’t been going out much lately, but last weekend, my son Matías—who has a more active social life than I do—got an invitation from his group of friends to meet up at the C.C. La Vela to check out the new Arcade—a place full of fun for kids and adults alike. Meanwhile, while Matías was having fun with his friends, my husband, my daughter, and I planned to pick up a few things we still needed for the start of school and go to the newly opened movie theaters for the first time (that was the plan).

Como saben, yo amo este centro comercial, es mi favorito en la isla, y es que no puede ser de otra manera porque es absolutamente hermoso, encuentras de todo y la verdad es que ir de compras o solo de paseo es una experiencia única, y lo mejor de todo es que cada día hay más y más cosas que ver y hacer en este mágico rincón de nuestra isla, de hecho es tan grande que en una sola salida me es imposible recorrerlo todo sin terminar completamente agotada.

En esta oportunidad quisimos aprovechar la salida de Mati para ir al cine, pero la verdad es que no nos gustó nada de lo que había en cartelera, sin embargo, aproveché de recorrer toda el área del cine que es realmente gigante, con decirles que ocupa dos plantas!

As you know, I love this mall—it’s my favorite on the island—and it couldn’t be any other way because it’s absolutely beautiful. You can find everything there, and honestly, whether you’re shopping or just strolling around, it’s a unique experience. Best of all, every day there are more and more things to see and do in this magical corner of our island. In fact, it’s so big that in a single trip, it’s impossible for me to see it all without ending up completely exhausted.

This time, we wanted to take advantage of Mati’s day off to go to the movies, but honestly, we didn’t like anything that was playing. Still, I took the opportunity to explore the entire movie theater area, which is truly massive—it even spans two floors!

En principio les cuento que estas nuevas salas de cine, pertenecen a la cadena Cines Unidos, que con esta ya suman dos sucursales en la isla: una en el C.C. Sambil, y esta belleza que se encuentra ubicada en la nueva ala de este centro comercial en el tercer o cuarto piso, la verdad ya no recuerdo de lo grande que está este lugar.

Como les dije ocupa dos niveles: en el primero de ellos puedes encontrar las taquillas para comprar los boletos, además de la cartelera, el lugar para la venta de cotufas y chuches y una sala de espera enorme en la que puedes disfrutar de la vista majestuosa que nos ofrece la bahía del concord.

First off, let me tell you that these new movie theaters belong to the Cines Unidos chain, which now has two locations on the island: one at the Sambil Shopping Center, and this gem, located in the new wing of that mall on the third or fourth floor—to be honest, I can’t quite remember how big this place is.

As I mentioned, it spans two levels: on the first level, you’ll find the ticket counters, the movie listings, the popcorn and candy stand, and a huge waiting area where you can enjoy the majestic view of Concord Bay.

En el segundo nivel después de subir unas escaleras espectaculares te encuentras con o otra sala de espera, una especie de bar/cafetería, donde puedes disfrutar bebidas y comida, además de muchos asientos al mejor estilo de La Vela, y es que la verdad esto parece un crucero, es lujo al 1000%.

Además de todo lo que les cuento tienen un área especial dedicada al séptimo arte donde te encuentras una estatuilla del Óscar tamaño gigante, además de un espacio para fotografías con las películas que han marcado historia en la cartelera mundial, y por supuesto que aprovechamos de tomarnos algunas fotitos para el recuerdo.

On the second level, after climbing some spectacular stairs, you’ll find another waiting area—a sort of bar/café—where you can enjoy drinks and food, along with plenty of seating in the style of La Vela. Honestly, this place feels just like a cruise ship—it’s 1000% luxury.

In addition to everything I’ve told you, there’s a special area dedicated to cinema where you’ll find a giant Oscar statuette, as well as a photo op featuring the films that have made history on movie screens around the world—and of course, we took the opportunity to snap a few photos as souvenirs.

En cuanto a las salas, se encuentran hacia el final de este piso, pero lamentablemente no puedo hablarles de ellas porque no pude entrar, sin embargo me han dicho que son geniales, adema cuentan con una sala VIP con muebles reclinables y atención personalizada, lo que es bastante genial, por un costo que para el servicio no me parece excesivo.

Como pueden ver, sin duda alguna La Vela ha cambiado por completo el concepto de lo que representaba para muchos ir al cine, ofendiendo a locales y visitantes una experiencia llena de mucho lujo, confort y una tecnología increíble, sumando más puntos a los que ya tiene. As for the theaters, they’re located toward the end of this floor, but unfortunately I can’t tell you about them because I wasn’t able to go inside. However, I’ve been told they’re great—they even have a VIP theater with reclining seats and personalized service, which is pretty awesome, for a price that doesn’t seem excessive given the level of service.

As you can see, La Vela has undoubtedly completely transformed the concept of what going to the movies meant for many people, offering locals and visitors alike an experience full of luxury, comfort, and incredible technology—adding even more to its already impressive list of features.
