Bakso urat is a type of Indonesian meatball known for its large size and a filling that incorporates ground meat and beef tendon; it is highly popular in Indonesia.
Where I live, bakso urat (coarse-textured beef meatballs) are sold everywhere too, but when I eat them here—especially with such heavy rain—I truly enjoy them.
This afternoon, my mother, my child, and I went for a stroll to the town square. We happened to pass by a bakso (meatball soup) stall and I suddenly felt like having some. We stopped at the stall—which was extremely simple—but unfortunately, there were no other customers yet since it had just opened; it was actually the first time my mother and I had ever visited this place.
We were the first customers at the shop, so I ordered three bowls of bakso—one for myself, one for my mother, and another for my child. The order arrived very quickly since no other customers had arrived yet; the shop had just opened, after all.
The seating is very comfortable and relaxed; we can sit on the floor—Japanese style—or on a long wooden bench like this one, and I’ve decided to just sit on this long wooden bench.
The three bowls of meatballs that I ordered arrived at our table not long after, so we immediately enjoyed them with a sprinkling of one large meatball for Rp. 10,000 and for my child I only added small meatballs because I was afraid he wouldn't be able to finish them. My child's meatballs shouldn't be for only Rp. 5,000, it really is very cheap, it turns out.
Okay, let's just enjoy the meatball tendons, the letters are very big and inside there are also minced beef which is super delicious and tempting my appetite, I immediately mixed it, I added chili sauce and sweet soy sauce and also salty soy sauce.
Wow When I mixed this meatball it really whetted my appetite
6 I didn't add too much chili for fear of making it too spicy, but I added two spoonfuls of chili and you know, suddenly the atmosphere became dark and the rain came down very heavily.
While enjoying the meatballs, it was raining heavily and I thought this was a good moment to eat meatballs with a fresh and spicy broth, plus shredded fried chicken and besides the big meatballs, there were also small meatballs inside and wow, the taste really warmed my throat.
The spicy taste also spread throughout my tongue and it really made me want to enjoy it more and more, getting more addicted and I immediately inhaled the soup again without realizing the spicy taste. Because after a cold rain like this, it is indeed delicious to have something warm and spicy.
Meanwhile, the torrential rain outside shows no signs of letting up, and I’ve nearly finished my bakso; my child and mother are also growing restless sitting here, but unfortunately, we can't leave yet—since we’re on a motorcycle, we’d get soaked on the road, which is especially concerning with a young child along.
Thank you 🙂🤗
