Today is Saturday, my family and I went to visit the night market which is not far from my house. The night market, which has been running for five days, will end in two days.
and me and my mother and child. The three of us went there to buy snacks that were going viral. Authentic night market snacks with savory flavors and offering a sweet taste.
Not so crowded and not quiet either. Usually this night market is very crowded at night. Yes, it is called a night market, of course people will flock to Bandung to go at night, but I don't need to go at night because the atmosphere is very crowded with visitors, so I choose to go in the afternoon like this.
The atmosphere in the afternoon was quite busy. I arrived at the night market around 4:00 pm and this was the atmosphere.
The very first thing I spotted was tahu gejrot; since my mother loves it, she immediately bought a portion because she enjoys it so much. Alright, I’m going to get a single portion of tahu gejrot for my mother.
and after eating it, it turned out the tofu was very spicy, but I had already told the seller that the tofu shouldn't be too spicy, but I don't know why he put so many chilies
Next, I went for another walk, and my child spotted a popular snack at the night market: smoky snacks. These are incredibly popular smoky snacks at night markets; wherever you go, kids are sure to find them.
I bought a portion for just Rp20,000, and it turned out to be just an ordinary snack with added smoke—I’m not sure what the smoke was made of, but the snack itself tasted savory and sweet, while the smoke felt cold; it wasn't the kind of steam you get from hot food.
My child tried it right away, hehe. What was a bit funny was that my mother thought the food was hot because of the smoke coming off it; so, when she tried to eat it, she blew on it. But as you know, the food isn't hot at all—it's just a regular snack infused with smoke. The smoke is actually cold; when you put it in your mouth, it feels very cold, not hot in the slightest.
After that, we strolled around the children's rides, and my child wanted to go on a carousel designed for kids—one that wasn't very tall.
After having her fill of the merry-go-round, my daughter wanted to try other activities; she played with sand and pretended to cook. Her mother and I kept her company while she played.
Not a child, right? If you go to the night market, you won't play with toys or pretend, he really enjoys playing here.
Next, the three of us decided to go on the train ride—hehe, this was the ride I wanted to go on because it wasn't scary at all. As for other rides like the carousel, I was afraid of the height.
After we’d had our fill of playing around, we went for a stroll and came across some incredibly tempting street food—snacks that looked like they would simply melt in your mouth.
I’m currently at a stall selling various grilled snacks, but I have absolutely no intention of buying anything there, so I’m heading to another food stall instead. I spotted some "Larva" meatballs—which look like they’d go really well with risoles—so I’ve decided to buy some risoles and spicy "Larva" meatballs.
Over there, I saw some mesam-mentai, but after asking the price—Rp 24,000 for that portion size—I felt it was a bit too expensive, so I decided not to buy it. Besides, I felt the food I’d already bought was enough; I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish it all. Hehehe.
Once again, my child spotted their favorite snack—those baked cheese treats. They really love the "cheese coins" (or "Cheese Sis"); at a quick glance, the product looks a bit like martabak filled with mozzarella cheese.
We also bought refreshing drinks, it wouldn't be funny if there were no drinks after eating, and the drinks here are quite cheap at only Rp. 5,000.
After buying drinks, my mother spotted her favorite dodol—a traditional confection from Garut. She decided to buy a kilogram for Rp50,000, which I thought was quite a reasonable price, especially since we could choose from a variety of flavors.
and we also chose to buy only half a kilo because if it was 1 kg, I think it would be too much and I have tried it and it turns out that this Garut dodol is really delicious
Thank you 🙂🤗
