The school year began in my country this week and all pupils must return to the classroom to continue their studies, including those at music schools.
After a rather sombre holiday due to the earthquakes, I started my lessons with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. I’ll be continuing with the recorder and guitar, as well as the music theory lessons that go with them. I’m not sure how I’ll manage to fit in these activities, which take up my whole afternoon from 2 pm to 5 pm, alongside my responsibilities at home looking after my grandmother. I missed two days of lessons this week, but the days I did attend were fun and different.
Two of my recorder classmates had their birthdays and the teacher brought a small cake to celebrate; we sang and took some photos to remember the occasion. These little moments are what have been brightening up my life of late. At home, in my spare time, I’ve been practising with the aim of achieving a front split and, later on, the others; we’re taking it step by step without losing our rhythm.
