Greetings everyone, and welcome to a new post. Today, I want to share something very special with you: how I picked up my pencils again to draw Alice in Wonderland.
It had been quite a while since I last drew, and I decided it was time to pick up the art form again. I chose Alice because she is one of my favorite Disney characters; I love both the classic animated version and the live-action one. Despite the changes made to the original story, I enjoy both films. The process came with its own set of challenges. I found a reference image on Pinterest that I loved, but it was a bit blurry, making the details hard to see. Instead of looking for an easier option, I decided to stick with it. I saw it as an opportunity to test my skills, add my own personal touches to the parts that weren't clearly defined, and see if I still "had the touch" after such a long break. I absolutely loved the final result, and I hope you all enjoy it just as much.

I started by sketching the overall shape to make it easier to place each part of the drawing and avoid losing the flow; I don't draw in a specific order, so I began with the head and shoulders, as I find that part relatively easy.
Then I moved on to the arm and the dress, as well as the white rabbit she is holding against her chest, and a huge clock to one side.
By this stage, I had drawn the hair and the other details; I started out using a mechanical pencil.
Then, I started tracing the lines with a marker and erasing the pencil marks so that, when I begin adding color, it won't mix with the pencil lines.
Now for the part I like—adding color—I started by drawing the clock, because it has various color tones on the inside.
Then I started drawing the rim of the watch and the hair, since they have a similar color, and I drew those two parts to make the most of the moment.
Then I drew the dress in blue—that unforgettable blue—and left the background white; at the same time, I drew the shoes and the headband, since they are the same color.
There were parts that didn't turn out quite the way I had planned—and I had already made touch-ups with the marker (you’ll notice if you look closely)—but I like the rest of it, and I feel that it turned out well despite the complexity.

I’d really love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Which version of Alice is your favorite—the animated one or the live-action one? What did you think of the details in the drawing?
