ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to everyone in this community, anime and drawing lovers! Like many who love to draw, I enjoy saving images that can serve as references and practice. Among them are official illustrations from various works, which I save because I really appreciate the composition or, as in this case, the color. As soon as I saw the protagonist of the manga and OVA Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai, I was captivated. Yellow isn't my favorite color, but I was fascinated by the visual effect of the girl's outfit, so as soon as I came across that image, I saved it to try and draw it later... and here it is, my finished illustration:

The creator of this manga is none other than Ai Yazawa, best known as the author of NANA and Paradise Kiss, although my favorite of her creations is Gokinjo Monogatari. I watched the Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai OVA, but it left me wanting more, as it barely covers what it's about. It's a shame that getting physical copies of manga in this genre is impossible in my country, so I'll continue to look at the illustrations I can find online. By the way, this is the original illustration, which I based mine on:

To make the drawing, I used watercolors and a block whose paper is not the most suitable for this type of material. I mention this so that you won't be surprised if the paper looks a little wrinkled in the photographs, because it looks like that after drying haha, but don't worry, at least until now, no sheet has completely broken due to humidity and since I have few left, I will continue using the block until I finish it.

Anyway, first I did the pencil drawing. Since I'm not aiming for perfection, I just tried to make it as close to the reference as possible, but without getting too bogged down in details. Then, I started coloring with watercolors. I usually always start with the color that first caught my eye, and in this case, it was yellow. You can't imagine how happy I was filling that whole space with color, haha.

After painting the yellow areas, I proceeded to use the other colors, letting them dry before applying a second coat. For the outline, I used brown watercolor. As for the shading, colored pencils were my best friend, since, as I mentioned, paper isn't ideal for watercolors and I didn't want to risk blending more than necessary. Even so, I really like the finish the pencils give. For the highlights and whites, I use white acrylic paint.

I was fascinated by the result, as it went from being a somewhat creepy drawing (I was teasing him, saying his dark eye sockets looked terrifying 😆) to something much prettier, at least in my opinion. One of my friends mentioned that his face was still unsettling, haha, but I did like his expression, haha. I haven't decided yet what my next watercolor drawing will be, but I think I'll lean more towards drawing a dessert. If you want to see how it turns out, you're invited to check out a future post 😉

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad, amantes del anime y de los dibujos! Como muchos que adoran dibujar, me gusta guardar imágenes que me puedan servir de referencia y también de práctica. Entre ellas, se encuentran ilustraciones oficiales de obras, que guardo porque me gusta mucho cómo se aprecia la composición o como pasa en este caso, "el color". En cuanto vi a la protagonista del manga y Ova Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai, quedé encantada. El color amarillo, no es mi favorito, pero me fascinó el efecto visual que generaba el outfit de la chica, así que en cuanto me topé con esa imagen, la guardé para intentar dibujarla luego... y he aquí, mi ilustración terminada:

La creadora de este manga, es nada más y nada menos que Ai Yazawa, más conocida por ser la misma autora de NANA y Paradise Kiss, aunque mi favorita de sus creaciones, es Gokinjo Monogatari. Vi el ova de Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai, pero quedé con ganas de más, pues apenas y se abarca de qué trata. Es una lástima que conseguir mangas en físico en mi país de estos géneros sea imposible, por lo que seguiré contemplando las ilustraciones que pueda toparme en la web. Por cierto, esta es la ilustración original, de la cual, me basé:

Para realizar el dibujo, utilicé acuarelas y un block cuyo papel, no es el más adecuado para este tipo de material. Lo menciono para que no les extrañe si en las fotografías el papel se ve algo arrugado, pues el mismo queda así luego de secarse jaja pero no se preocupen, al menos hasta ahora, ninguna hoja se me ha roto por completo por la humedad y como me quedan pocas, seguiré usando el block hasta terminarlo.

En fin, primero elaboré el dibujo en lápiz. Como no busco la perfección, simplemente traté de hacerlo lo más parecido a la referencia, pero sin enfrascarme mucho en detalles. Después, comencé a colorear con las acuarelas. Por lo general, siempre empiezo usando el color que más me llamó la atención en primero lugar y en este caso, fue el amarillo. No saben la dicha que sentía llenando todo ese espacio con el color jaja.

Luego de pintar las zonas amarillas, procedí a usar los demás colores, dejando secar para poder colocarle una segunda capa. Para el delineado, utilicé acuarela color marrón. En cuanto al sombreado, los crayones de madera fueron mis aliados, dado que como mencioné, el papel no es el más ideal para las acuarelas y no me quería arriesgar a difuminar más que lo necesario. Aún así, me gusta mucho el acabado que da los crayones. En el caso de las luces y blancos, uso pintura acrílica blanca.

El resultado me fascinó, pues pasó de ser un dibujo algo tétrico (me burlaba diciendo que sus cuencas oscuras lucían aterradoras 😆) a uno más bonito, al menos en mi parecer, porque uno de mis amigos me mencionó que su rostro seguía siendo perturbador jaja pero a mí sí me gustó su expresión jaja Aún no me decido sobre cuál sería el siguiente dibujo a realizar en acuarelas, pero creo que me iré más por la opción de dibujar algún postre.
