Hello Hive students and friends 🥰💕.
What a topic for this week’s prompt from #hivestudentconnect . An amazing topic and one that us back again to memories we will not forget for years to come, especially, loving memories of where we are coming from.
Then, I will always tell my friends the kind of life I will like to experience immediately I finished my secondary school 🏫, then off to university where I will study 📚 the course I have been dreaming of and what I will become in the future. But unfortunately, life was never as anticipated, envisaged and dreamed of.
So what happened? Because my parents told me that life is not a bed of roses 🌹, but that if I know how to be diligent, work so hard 😓, have self esteem, be courageous in life, keep my dignity and maintain discipline , that the sky 🌌 will not even be my limit. That I will always soar like the Eagle 🦅 does. This I never saw, even with all I tried. And this means that growing into adulthood was just the beginning of self awareness of how life is full of challenges through unforeseen circumstances.
I remembered how good life was as I was growing up as a child, then, into my teenage age. Everything seemed so good 😊. Or maybe I did not see the struggle my parents went through as something that will continue into my own era since they say change is constant. Because the picture I painted in my mind then towards life is not what it is. I think I came to a conclusion with time that life is really a big struggle.
As time went by with all the struggles of taking responsibilities of paying bills, accommodation rents, wanting to eat what I like at a given time and handling my immediate family problems, I started to appreciate my parents the more for all the troubles they went through bringing my siblings and I up in comforts. This shows that as children we do not know what our parents go through for their kids. We begin to comprehend and see life in our adulthood.
My dad will make sure to provide the house with regular provisions in my teens, especially for some of us who does not like to eat solid foods then . And this I see as good life then with various kinds of yummies 💕. And my mother will make sure to cook the best lunch or dinner with her children’s favorites . We will just smile 😃 while enjoying at the dinning table. These were the years when money’s worth, equals the commodity purchased
Now, the reality of life is glaring in our faces, that even with change that is constant, the hardship is becoming intense due to inflation and how the world 🌎 has turned out to be. Money 💰 is worth nothing any longer and we must move with time. Change brought too many good things, but the purchasing power is what many lacked due to how money lost its worth. This is the reality we are all witnessing now.
In all, I have continued to educate my children to see life as a real struggle because as children who are born into the Jenzy era, all they dream 😴 of is “soft life”. A life where everything will be made available to them so that they do not need to work harder. But that is not what it is anymore, unless your parents are in the government house where money 💰 is shared, while the poor masses are suffering. This is the reality of life . We keep hoping for better days because the Bible says that “The diligent will make riches and they will dwell with kings”.
Thank you for visiting and reading friends 😃.
Best Regards @sunshine29 🧡
