Hello, dear Hive Diy community! I hope you are having a great day today.
Today I’m sharing another Pokémon drawing I made. This time, it features a member of the Generation 5 Elite Four (anyone who has played the games will know who I’m talking about, hehe).
His name is Marshal, and I wanted to pose him alongside my second-favorite Pokémon—showing all three of its evolutionary stages. Since both the character and the Pokémon share the Fighting-type theme, I decided to give them poses that look somewhat intimidating and a bit cool.
Without further ado, let’s go through the step-by-step process.
PROCESO | PROCESS
- First, I created a rough sketch based on the idea I had in mind. Then, I did the line art and slightly adjusted Marshal’s size so the face of the middle Pokémon would be more visible.
- Once the line art was ready, I applied base colors to each character and organized them into folders.
- After grouping the characters, it was time to add highlights and shadows. Having them organized in folders makes things much easier; I create layers set to "clipping mask" mode, allowing me to shade the entire character at once rather than working on individual parts separately.
- First, I created a "Multiply" layer for the shadows and painted the areas where I envisioned the shadows falling. Then, on a new layer set to "Overlay" mode using an almost-white color, I added some highlights to brighten up the character.
- I repeated this same process for the other characters and the stone columns lying on the ground.
- To finish up, I grouped the entire illustration, duplicated it, and slightly increased the saturation. I added some lighting effects and, finally, applied a texture layer to give it the finishing touch.
¡Y listo!
