Dancing with the Angels - REST IN PEACE MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER!

Cream Mountain Photo Blog Banner 1.png

Tell me, what does it look like in heaven? Is it peaceful? Is it free like they say? Does the sun shine bright forever? Have your fears and your pain gone away?

'Cause here on earth it feels like everything good is missing since you left And here on earth everything's different, There's an emptiness.

I hope you're dancing in the sky And I hope you're singing in the angels' choir And I hope the angels know what they have! I'll bet it's so nice up in heaven since you've arrived Dancing in the Sky Lyrics – Dani & Lizzy

REST IN PEACE MY BEAUTIFUL MOTHER

❤ ELIZABETH ANNE ❤ @lizziesworld 19th May 1949 to 20th June 2020

On Friday the 19th June, I had a dream. I was sitting on a bench with my mom on my left, weeping hopelessly because she had just told me that she was leaving me. I became aware of a young man sitting on my right. He moved closer to me, enough that I could feel his body touch mine. I rested my head on his shoulder as I cried. He held out his hand and I took it. He gestured that we get up and walk, so keeping my hand in his, we began to walk away from my mom. As we walked, I turned to him and asked him what his name was… he replied, “God”.

The timing, significance and impact of that dream will stay with me forever, because the journey without our mom began the very next day – yesterday, Saturday the 20th June. There is absolutely nothing in life that can prepare you for such a journey, especially when you have been blessed with a mother as beautiful as ours.

Mom, from the time I used to call you “mama”, you blessed all your children with not only unconditional love but true friendship and boundless acceptance. Never in my life have I met such a selfless soul, filled to the brim with an abundance of compassion and love. Your cup was always overflowing and no matter who crossed your path, you always had more to give. You never hesitated to place those you love above yourself and the impact of that grace sits firmly rooted in each and every one of us as we embrace the gift we have all been afforded in raising our own children.

As petite, delicate and graceful as an old fashioned rose, gentle in heart and voice but rich in strength, passion and resilience - you were the epitome of a true lady! As your daughter, I am so very proud to have been raised by such a magnificent woman and my brothers, your sons are the noble gentlemen they are, because of the values and ethics instilled in them by a mother who truly had nothing other than love in her heart for her children – a REAL mom!

400018700761_187559.jpg

The ripples and impact of your unwavering love will forever flow in this family, between us as your children – through to your grandchildren and one day, their children too. You may not be here on earth any more, but I know – we know, because of the radiant soul that you continue to be… you will be ever present. The lives and homes of not only your family and friends, but countless people around the world shall forever be enriched by the beauty of your talented heart and hands.

From your passion and love for nature and the invaluable knowledge and appreciation for it’s importance in life that you grew in people all over the world, to the gardens which still burst with their wild beauty because of the soil your hands turned. From the incalculable brush strokes on canvas that sit as masterpieces in the homes of people across all continents, to the passion and talents that you nurtured, as well as the many hearts and minds you gave solace to in your art classes. Never has this world been blessed with a more precious soul and the vibration of your beauty, integrity, authenticity and grace will enrich this world for eternity.

Our hearts will forever ache in your absence, but our lives will be infinitely richer for your presence.

"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you ... I could walk in my own garden forever." — Alfred, Lord Tennyson

In the months approaching this closure, you asked each and every one your children what painting they would like. Your love for the elephants you grew up with in your backyard as a child clearly resonated strongly - as all three of your sons asked for elephants… and I requested a pink lotus. As it so often does, time diminished before your works were completed, but you did manage to get two of the three ellies done and you had begun my lotus.

A couple of days before you departed for hospice, you told Jude that he was to make sure that I finish the lotus. Never in a thousand years could I match your talent mom and I will never touch my lotus canvas with a brush until I have better explored your colourful world of oil painting, but in my heart I hold the intent of fulfilling that request.

❤ WE LOVE YOU MOM ❤

and you are LOVED the world over!!! THANK YOU... FOR YOU!

You were, are and always will be, the wind beneath our wings.

There are so many of you that have been here for me and my family in the last two months and I would like to close firstly with a very heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you! Your love and support has been invaluable.

...and secondly, some of my moms absolute favourites! My passion and appreciation for music was born through my mom.

and as she always told us... "listen to the words."

❤❤❤

Dear @jaynie, my heart goes out to you on the loss of your beautiful Mom, but how amazing was that dream, God reassuring you that he is waiting with open arms! Your Mom Liz (Elizabeth Anne) is indeed dancing with the angels, pain free, young and beautiful again. Was going to reply to your previous post and tell you that my mom Lily's birth name is Anna Elizabeth, also a tiny strong woman but getting frailer by the day! Your Mom will live on forever in your heart, you've written a really beautiful tribute to your special angel. Sharing this poem below written by another Elizabeth (Mary Elizabeth Frye) Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die.

  • @enginewitty(78)· 2287d

Lost many along the way myself and of all the songs I can relate to this that or the other situation, this one seems to rise above the ashes and stay on top of the stack. Has extreme emotions attached to it for me and maybe it'll help you find just a tad bit more solace. Much love sweets.

  • @wwwiebe(74)· 2287d

Oh sweety, I am so sorry. She was a wonderful woman, and raised a wonderful daughter. You have put together a very worthy memorial.

  • @machnbirdsparo(66)· 2287d

I did not really actively engage with her much but the name stuck because of her heartfelt posts. Will be missed.

  • @arcange(79)· 2287d

Dear @jaynie, it's really sad news and you find me wordless. I wish I could be one of the angels she will be dancing with.

Sending all my love to both of you.

  • @wesphilbin(68)· 2287d

    I've not said much...

As you know, dealing with my own issues. But so often, as my obvious empathic ways dictate... I'm there when I feel it's time, and this would be such time. There's nothing I could say, or music I could share, that hasn't been already.

Know your family is, and has been, in my family's thoughts and prayers.

Created by me... for you... with love...

Your Mother sounded like a treasure to anyone who crossed her path. Me and you are lucky to have had such Moms. Condolences to you in your loss of this beautiful, beautiful soul

  • @quillfire(62)· 2288d

    @jaynie,

Oh Jaynie, I'm so sorry. I wish I was there to give you a hug.

Your tribute was beautifully written and the Will to make it so ... was palpable.

Your Mom's paintings were beautiful (I had no idea I liked elephants so much) and it's apparent where you inherited your creativity and artistic skills.

While your Mom's soul may be in Heaven, the essence of who she was remains on Earth. It resides in the billions of synapses of those who remember her and in the beliefs and behaviors that such remembrances inspire. Cry now but, as quickly as you can, get to a place where you can remember her with a laugh ... for that is as she would have had it.

I leave you with a poetic toast I once wrote. The roles are reversed but the sentiment remains the same. I hope in it you may find some solace.

    Two Beats

A thousand miles am I from home, At war on distant shores, Flares and fires and fearsome foes, The guns, how do they roar.

Beside me lay a brother broke, The time for him has come, Perchance you'd think he'd speak to God, ... But he calls out for his Mom.

Did beat the blood that brought to life, That beat, did life it stir, It beat the blood, a Mother's heart, Before you, yours ... was hers.

Now at the end, they beat again, Two beats, then just the one, A glass of wine, two hearts entwined, Alone ... dies not a son.

    I wrote an accompanying essay:

Do people know when they’re about to die?

Most soldiers who’ve spent anytime on a battlefield would probably answer in the affirmative. Although science has never been able to explain 'what life is,' human beings seem capable of understanding when “it” is almost gone. What is remarkable is what happens in the minds of the dying in the fleeting moments before the inevitable becomes inescapable.

Despite Western cultural elevation of individualism, human beings are incredibly social animals. We don’t want to live alone and, most assuredly, we don’t want to die alone.

Irrespective of religious beliefs (all of which, by definition, require faith – the belief in something one cannot prove), none of us can say with certainty whether death is the end of existence. Psychologically, the closest thing we actually have to the concept of 'life after death' … is being remembered. Being remembered means that the ‘concept of you’ will live on. What you need, therefore, is someone who believes that the world would be a lesser place but for the fact of your existence … and can, therefore, be trusted to keep you in it.

So who can you trust to ensure that ‘you'll live on?’ Most frequently, it is the person that ensured that you’d live in the first place. Your mother.

At some point during pregnancy, a woman experiences the phenomenal insight that “I” is now “we” and that “mine” has become “ours.” What happens to the one, happens to the other. Such profound interconnectedness leaves deep roots in the brains of both, roots that cannot be erased by time or space. As long one can remember the other, neither can ever be truly alone.

  • @jayna(75)· 2289d

Oh @jaynie, I'm so very sorry. I know you braced for this the best you could, knowing all the while that nothing could truly prepare you, and that the steps toward healing from the loss will be lifelong.

You are so lucky to have had such a beautiful, loving mother, who gave so much of herself to her family and shared the gifts of life and love, music and art. May her memory stay warm and alive in your heart and mind.

Your dream is amazing. It seems you were visited by Someone who wants you to know you're not alone.

Love, hugs and my deepest sympathy.
