I miss writing about TV shows and movies. I have been watching so many TV shows at the same time, probably I am ending season 2 of Monarch and soon I will post about it. But now let's talk about a recently finished TV Show: One Piece Season 2. I am a bit suspicious about talking about this tv show, since I am a fan from the animation/manga version of it. So my views are totally different from a person who never watched the animation or the graphic novel. But it was a great experience like watching season one 3 years ago.
It is bad that Netflix TV shows take so much time to release new seasons of their shows. I usually forget even about the story. That problem happened with The Witcher and Stranger Things as well. I think that Season 2 of One Piece confirmed the first season as probably the closest live-action to its original animation version.
You feel that you are watching an identical copy of the animation, including the supernatural powers given by the amazing devil fruit or Akuma no Mi. Luffy's actor and dressing makes you feel that he is skinny with longer arms and legs. It is crazy to exist someone with similar physical attributions than an animation or drawn character. And they kept all the weird characteristics of the original One Piece characters in the live-action. The marine captain who smokes two cigars at once, for example, and the weird uniform used by their crew.
Of course, they had to rely on computer graphics to recreate characters like Chopper, the cute reindeer that talks. The story is a great fantasy in a magic world where pirates are a bit different from what we are used to in the real world. The actors are indeed playing their original characters from the manga, and we can get attached to the characters' feelings. That is the major victory of this live-action TV show.
If you love fantasy, you probably would enjoy this crazy story even not knowing about the original story from the manga and later animated. For sure, you would have fun with this different, very different pirate tale in a magical world where whales can talk.

Sinto falta de escrever sobre séries e filmes. Tenho assistido a tantas séries ao mesmo tempo, provavelmente estou terminando a segunda temporada de Monarch e em breve farei uma postagem sobre ela. Mas agora vamos falar sobre uma série que terminou recentemente: One Piece, segunda temporada. Estou um pouco receosa em falar sobre essa série, já que sou fã desde o anime/mangá. Então, minha opinião é totalmente diferente da de alguém que nunca assistiu ao anime ou leu a graphic novel. Mas foi uma ótima experiência, como assistir à primeira temporada há 3 anos.
É uma pena que as séries da Netflix demorem tanto para lançar novas temporadas. Eu geralmente até esqueço da história. Esse problema aconteceu com The Witcher e Stranger Things também. Acho que a segunda temporada de One Piece confirmou que a primeira temporada é provavelmente a adaptação live-action mais fiel à animação original.
Você tem a sensação de estar assistindo a uma cópia idêntica da animação, incluindo os poderes sobrenaturais concedidos pela incrível Akuma no Mi. O ator e o figurino do Luffy fazem você perceber que ele é magro, com braços e pernas mais longos. É incrível que exista alguém com características físicas semelhantes às de um personagem de animação ou desenho animado. E eles mantiveram todas as características peculiares dos personagens originais de One Piece na versão live-action. O capitão da Marinha que fuma dois charutos ao mesmo tempo, por exemplo, e o uniforme estranho usado pela tripulação.
Claro, eles tiveram que usar computação gráfica para recriar personagens como Chopper, a adorável rena falante. A história é uma grande fantasia em um mundo mágico onde os piratas são um pouco diferentes do que estamos acostumados no mundo real. Os atores estão de fato interpretando seus personagens originais do mangá, e podemos nos apegar aos sentimentos dos personagens. Essa é a grande vitória desta série de TV com atores reais.
Se você gosta de fantasia, provavelmente vai curtir essa história maluca mesmo sem conhecer a história original do mangá e da animação. Com certeza você vai se divertir com esse conto de piratas diferente, muito diferente, em um mundo mágico onde as baleias falam.
