One of the enduring Steem memes has been some users calling people "dear" as if they are a little old lady asking for help to carry groceries to her car. However, Steemian has been the non-official identifier, with Ned trying to use "Steemitans" as if that was ever going to be a thing at all - one of Ned's final bad calls of judgement - to date.

With the name name of the Steem fork looking like it is going to be Hive?, the question has been raised as to what would be the nickname, the group identifier for users under the new blockchain banner that is getting created by @blocktrades and crew.

Since it is a fork that is looking to be our new home, I took this image a few moments ago as I believe that from now on, I am going to be calling everyone - Honey.

But that is not set in stone as of yet, but I think that it has a chance of getting some support from the ex-dear community, as it has enough familiarity with people that it will carry the right amount of creepiness when delivered by strangers.

But, for a little fun, let's see what community moniker we can come up with and see if it can catch on and be thing - be sticky, so to speak.

    OMG! This was hilarious!

    I have to admit, I loved the honey (well, it was so obvious, although, I want to almost slap anyone who calls me dear in a not so endearing way) But drones? hmmmm now that has a nice ring to it.

    Well I'll keep playing around with this. tbh I didn't know about the dear thing although I know someone who has been talking like that habitually for years now. What can you do? oh, meme's. Right.

    If "dear" was a thing then I think you probably nailed it. All the buzz about "Honey".

    Honey dear, I'm not a fan of the Hive name, but if the new community works, I will get over the name. But if I had my say on the name it would be something like... – MastersOfTheUniverse --> Masa (okay, only Finns would support that nick name) MOTU would perhaps be more understandable. – Punnishers --> Pnshrs (combine of pun and a punisher)

    Can't think of any others. And that's good because the name Hive has already been decided. So we will be Hivers.

    I think we should look to the movies for a name, If we all go it will be because we grew furious with the current situation and it was unsustainable, So I pick Furyans, our nest has been kicked to the ground and like any good protector bees we are furious. (Plus I liked the Riddick Movies).

    I think going with crypto Bees is nice. cBee , a bit like cyber Bee, might get confused with the famous Sea Bees. We’ll see, we’ll see. Everything is better then STEEMian, ‘looking back’ that has always been bad name :p
