Saint-Nicholas challenge for well-behaved girls and boys

You've been a good boy or girl all year with all your Hive friends? Perfect, you are just a few steps away from getting an exclusive badge.

Why celebrate Saint Nicholas?

Saint Nicholas' Day, observed on December 6 in Western Christian countries, December 5 in the Netherlands and December 19 in Eastern Christian countries, is the feast day of Saint Nicholas.

It is celebrated with particular regard to his reputation as a bringer of gifts.

In Ukraine, children wait for St. Nicholas to come and to put a present under their pillows provided that the children were good during the year. Children who behaved badly may expect to find a twig or a piece of coal under their pillows.

In the Netherlands, "Dutch children put out a clog filled with hay and a carrot for Saint Nicholas' horse. On Saint Nicholas' Day, gifts are tagged with personal humorous rhymes written by the sender."

In the United States, one custom associated with Saint Nicholas Day is children leaving their shoes in the foyer on Saint Nicholas Eve in hope that Saint Nicholas will place some coins on the soles, for them to awake to. _{Source Wikipedia}

Dear Santa:

This year has not been easy for me, but I know that I have done everything I can to do my best and I have succeeded. I think that when things are done by putting your heart into it, very good things happen.

I want two very important gifts; health for many beings that I love and who are not well, and, since I love to cook and always publish my recipes on Hive, I need money to build a bigger kitchen, the one I have is so small that if I go in there will be no more room for anyone .

But you are just, so I ask for a world free of bad guys and well another little thing, a new camera but make it Nikon, this has been a dream I have not yet achieved. Hello St Nick!

Firstly, I am a very honest woman so I have to admit, up front, that I have definitely not been a "good girl". Why? Well, mostly because I think obedience is overrated. To quote Pulitzer Prize winner, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich (out of context mind you 😆):

"Well-behaved women seldom make history"

And since, well, you know I mean to make an impact on the world, it seems I have to break the rules. To lead, one must do what has not been done before and (probably) make up her own f*cking rules.

So, I haven't been a good girl. But I have been a kind and compassionate woman. I've been open to hearing other people's perspectives during this challenging year (+) we've had. I've been a great listener, with a loving heart that has spread her kindness like Santa distributes candy. I think these are the things I aspire to; being a kind human, more than a good girl.

If you think these things make me a "good girl" in your books then I'll happily receive one of every kind of token that you have at your disposal to give out. Or all people in leadership positions globally to become daily meditators. Whichever you feel is easiest for you to grant, I'll be grateful to receive it.

Hey St-Nicholas, I did lots of HP 💓 punch-ups and giveaways this year, never threaded it down, and even managed to flirt with our VIP sister (Hive-Engine) with lots of winked 😉 blocks... she's exploding so fast!

At the moment (at least right now) I still feel very horny with prices and stuff... but what I am really missing out on is an island on Mars! Do you reckon that's an easy one to get?

Dear St. Nicholas,

I've tried REALLY hard to be a good dog, but my master's shoes just smell too good to leave alone. So, this year instead of a squeaky toy, I'd like you to drop off a kitty cat for me to chew on. I think @rookiewinner is a fine name for a chewy cat, and if you bring me a chewy kitty, I promise I'll try to make him last all year so my master won't have to buy me a new one. I'd also like a set of opposable thumbs, it sure would make typing a LOT easier.

If you feel I haven't been a good enough dog, I know my owner would like one of those new Xbox things or a subscription to that "beer of the month" club, even though I know he won't share it with me.

Dear Saint Nicholas, I've been amazingly good for how bad I normally am. I've gifted ecency points, delegated hp for free, and posted a ton for the benefit of all my sporting fans (2). I would be happy with just one simple wish. I want a chocolate mint to be placed on a shiny new Maserati in my driveway... the kind of Maserati that an adult can actually drive. On second thought, you can keep the mint. I'll just have the Maserati. If that's too tall an order, I'll take an Aptera (look it up). St. Nicolaus is also celebrated in Hungary. His name is Mikulás and brings presents on the night of the 5th so the children receive it on the 6th in the morning. The kids have to clean theirs boots and put them in the window to receive chocolate, mandarin, oranges or nuts if they behaved well during the year. They could get coal in case they were bad. Well this isn't exactly a funny comment, but what I would truly want is to be one day be remembered for all of the things I do/achieve and to leave behind a meaningful and extensive legacy.

I would say I have been good this year. I can't say I haven't used what is considered bad words, I call them primitive prayer. Honest and unvarnished.

I haven't cried over COVID and the changes it's caused in my life. I haven't cried over the transmission that went on my vehicle and left me without wheels. I've been thankful for the friends who bring what I need and have used the time to turn the lemons into books, a 100 of them. Who needs lemonade eh?

Well maybe @bluefinstudios to wash down the turkey that he got tired of eating after the American Thanksgiving. He really likes to cook and I hear he would really like to get a bottle of Blood Orange Balsamic Vinegar to cook with. So my wish is that he get his wish.

If such a thing exists, I'd like a tag-tucker-inner. You know, something that just automatically tucks in the shirt tag when my husband forgets to tuck it in. First of all, I would like to ask for good health for all the people in this world, especially for those who are in hospital this Christmas, so that they may soon recover their health and enjoy being with their families.

Hello @hivebuzz. First, I'd like to say "thank you" for delivering always good news and support to me all year. I have two gift wishes I'd like you to consider:
1. I'd like for you to spread holiday cheer and glad tidings for a healthier, happier and safe New Year to all members of Hive, my immediate and extended family, and all over the world that there may be peace among us.
2. I wish to receive a new pair of knees and a hip. You see I have arthritis in both knees and hips. Doctors have told me that the only cure is to have a total knee and hip replacements. I'm hesitant to do this because of my age and the fact that I already had back surgery, but still have arthritis in my back. I do believe in Saint Nicholas, though, and know that my request will be answered. Oh, and I have been good and kind all year. That's what my granddaughter told me.
P.S. I'd prefer a set of knees and hips that are at least 20 years younger. That way, they'll last hopefully through my extended golden years.

I know that @carmenm20 has been a kind young lady all year too, as I have been keeping abreast of her activities on Hive.

Well. This is not funny at all. Just/only the plain truth about my life. My goal is to live somewhere, where I do not have to pay rent.

I live with multiple disabilities under the local minimum wage in Hungary. I receive a low pension-like income, which is approximately $250 USD per month. Nowadays I also work as a packager in a four hours per day part time job, and my total monthly income is approximately only $470 USD per month, while the local minimum wage is approximately $550 USD per month.

My current plan is to buy a sailboat to live on it. My current financial target is around $1000 USD and $1500 USD.

I currently have $397.54 HBD in savings.

I am really very grateful and very happy for every help and support I receive. Thank you so much.

Edit: I tag @felixxx as a friend, because he helped me so much that he made it possible for me to financially get through this winter. I am very grateful very happy. Thank you so much again.
