Hello Steemit!

Hello Steemit! My name is Audrey, and I have created this account on behalf of artist Nick Giamberdini, to share and discuss his artwork (and sometimes mine), and to find and support other artists as well. We are both new to Steemit, and to the world of Cryptocurrency in general, but we’ve heard a lot of really positive things about this platform, so we are looking forward to interacting with the community and learning as we go! Thus, with no further ado, please allow me to tell you a bit about Nick and his art!

Nick and Audrey.jpg

Nick Giamberdini is a Pittsburgh-based artist who has some formal training from PTI, but is primarily self-taught, preferring the freedom of experimentation and the tried-and-true teachers, Trial and Error, to the rigid structure of classical techniques.

His style leans heavily toward impressionism, and while he does occasionally work with Marker, Pen & Ink, and Pencil, the majority of his work is Oil on Canvas. Finding inspiration in everything from daily life to comics and cinema to mythology, sports and more, his subject matter varies widely. His repertoire includes landscapes, animals, original characters, mythological figures, cryptids and monsters, pop culture, and ... well the list goes on, but I’ll let you see for yourselves as we go.

brushes and palette.jpg

In addition to painting and other fine-arts, Nick is also highly skilled at building stained glass. He worked for years with Pittsburgh Stained Glass, repairing Tiffany windows in churches all over the Pittsburgh area. Now, working on a smaller scale, he builds sun-catchers, mirrors, and other decorative pieces, as creative and unique as the rest of his art.

We hope the community of artists and art lovers here will enjoy Nick’s work, and we are excited to discover where this new venture will take us! One of the best things we’ve heard about Steemit, however, is the diversity of content. So, while we’re definitely looking to share art and connect with other artists, we’re also looking forward to finding out what Steemit has to offer in regard to some of our other interests. We’d love to see what you all have to say about gaming, comics, travel, small business, and technology, just to name a few.

Nick, especially, has been a gamer and a comic collector his entire life. He’s been playing Magic the Gathering practically since it came out (I’ve only been playing for about 6-7 years), and he’s also a long-time veteran of several different RPGs like D&D and White Wolf, and miniature war-games, specifically Warhammer 40K (keep an eye out for some pictures of his painted miniatures!). Basically, we’re huge nerds with pretty broad horizons, and I hope this will be the perfect place to get into a little bit of everything!

Finally, I’d like to give a huge thank you to my awesome brother-in-law @blewitt who turned us on to Steemit in the first place. He’s been a great source of information and advice, and a huge help in the process of setting up this account. Even before signing up for Steemit, I’d read a few of his Steemit posts, and they’re awesome, so if you haven’t already, I highly recommend checking out the great content on his account!

That’s all for now, Steemians! Thank you for reading, and we’ll see you next time!

Welcome to Steem, Audrey (and Nick)! Thanks for bringing your impressive talents to our community. Our #art peeps love when someone new joins in the fun. Did you say MTG? My daughters and I love to play!

I hope that you enjoy your day!

We encourage everyone to explore the various posts and to leave personal comments on those that you wish (for example - thoughts regarding the content or a sharing of a similar experience you've had). This platform thrives through interaction as it's the best way to build relationships with other Steemians while finding communities and initiatives that peak your interests.

We like to advise bloggers to cite if images, videos, etc. used in their posts are of their own creation. This practice gives the creators an opportunity to have it clearly labeled that the works portrayed are the rightful property of the party posting it.

Another tip that we share with everyone is to be careful of copyright infringement when using material that is not of their original creation. Content (for example - images from a website) that grants permission for reuse is acceptable for content creators to utilize within their posts provided there is appropriate attribution to the source. Here's a link that will provide you with more information.

Welcome to the steemit community @artbygiamberdini! We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for here and have found a new home here.

    Seven suggestions:

    1. Save your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
    2. Just use your active key for wallet transactions,
    3. The master password is only to reset new passwords,
    4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
    5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written without credit,
    6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
    7. When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.

I found you because @xcountytravelers and @brittandjosie from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Steemians available who can help you; You can click to go to the Steem Terminal in Discord here:

Welcome to Steemit, Audrey! Wow, talk about a diverse artistic repertoire! The more artists here, the better :)

I'm a writer primarily, though I've had photography exhibited and love to make collages. I've done some painting with acrylics, too - sort of in the tradition of Monet.

Looking forward to seeing Nick's work, as well as yours!
