An Introductory Post

Greetings, fellow Steemians:

As you may have noticed, I am @emperor-lazaro-i, and I am completely new to the Steem community. You probably might be wondering how I have stumbled upon it... Well, it all started when I've discovered a decentralized broadcasting site called D.Tube (which at least many of you already know that it has been backed by STEEM). I figured that in the event that I am on the verge of utter condemnation by Silicon Valley's Big Tech hegemony and its radical, ochlocratic (mob-rule) agitators, I will seek refuge in the bosom of Steemit's multimedia sanctuary. That way, I might be free to speak the truth without the fear of being unnecessarily subjected to baseless, subjective accusations.

Now, as I have mentioned in the beginning, I am so new to this cryptocurrency-powered platform that I'm starting to feel like a fish out of water. I would appreciate it if anyone here can explain to me what to expect, or at least give me a pointer or two.

I'll be looking forward to enjoying my time here (and quite possibly to earn a living in the process). :D

    Welcome to the Steemit community @emperor-lazaro-i! We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for here and have found a new home.

    Seven suggestions:

    1. Use your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
    2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions,
    3. The master password is only to reset compromised passwords,
    4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
    5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written without credit,
    6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once, and
    7. When you open your steemit.com, in the upper right corner of the page there are 3 bars. Click on those, and then on the "welcome", and you will get a lot of reading material that will help you.

    If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Steemians available who can help you; you can click to go to the Steem Terminal in Discord here:

Blogging, building and uplifting eachother is what steemit is and what its all about on this blockchain.     1. Pushbook and seven77challenge are initiated by @nathanmars and the purpose of this movement is to increase steem awareness and price. It will cost you only some seconds to be a seven77 member. Read this post.
    2. @paulag's Redfish Power UP League will help you to grow your account
    3. along with @akomoajong 100SP Giveaway
    4. I am using Partiko to check my steem acount from my mobile
    5. Actifit is another great steem app that rewards you based on your daily activity.
    6. If you like card games you should join Steem Monsters. Collect cards, do daily quest or join turnaments. You can also sell your cards for steem. i am sure you will love it as i do.
    7. if not then join Next Colony build your base, extract materials and construct ships.
    8. ok ok ok i've got it. you want to be a drug dealer. Join DrugWars sell your drugs and earn coins.

The official FAQ can be found here and has A LOT of information https://steemit.com/faq.html - Also remember, Steemit is just ONE of the sites built that uses Steem the blockchain. You should also check out DTube and DSound for starters and if you're a gamer, Splinterlands! There are many other cool apps but I can't list them all here, there's just too many! But I'd also like to mention Steempeak, it's a better blogging platform that has a lot of cool features. The latest project you should also check as a new member is a palnet! Welcome to the blockchain! :) Oh, and if you're interested in creating your own tokens or smart contracts, check Steem engine!
