Ed eccomi finalmente qui su Steemit per pubblicare le foto di Matera, grazie ad un riposo forzato dovuto ad un piccolo infortnio che ho avuto ieri... Non vedevo l'ora di avere un pò di tempo da dedicare a questo post perchè Matera è un'altra di quelle città che mi ha colpito subito, anzi non proprio appena siamo entrati nel centro città perchè sembrava un posto qualsiasi, ma quando siamo andati nella Matera sotterranea, o come la vogliamo chiamare, la parte storica costruita su pietra, allora si che si è aperto un mondo fantastico: a me sembrava proprio di essere dentro ad un videogioco fantasy =)

And here I am finally here on Steemit to publish the photos of Matera, thanks to a forced rest due to a small injury that I had yesterday ... I could not wait to have some time to devote to this post because Matera is another of those cities that struck me immediately, in fact not just as soon as we entered the city center because it looked like any place, but when we went in the underground Matera, or as we want to call it, the historical part built on stone, so that a fantastic world has opened up: it seemed to me just to be inside a fantasy video game =)

Ormai lo sanno tutti che quest'anno la città è stata nominata Capitale della Cultura ma era candidata già dal 2008! Non capisco il motivo di aspettare tutto questo tempo data la storia, la cultura e la particolare bellezza di questo posto. Oltretutto nel 1993, i Sassi di Matera sono stati riconosciuti come Patrimonio dell'Unesco, primo sito dell'Italia meridionale a ricevere tale riconoscimento.

By now everyone knows that this year the city was named Capital of Culture but was a candidate since 2008! I don't understand the reason to wait all this time given the history, the culture and the particular beauty of this place. Moreover, in 1993, the Sassi of Matera were recognized as UNESCO Heritage, the first site in southern Italy to receive this recognition.

L'area naturale che vedete immersa nel verde fa parte del Parco della Murgia Materana. Simbolo del parco è il falco grillaio, piccolo rapace presente nel territorio di Matera con numerosissimi esemplari.
