May 7th....An Emotional Roller Coaster

About 24 hours ago my wife went into labor.

If you have been following this journey of ours it’s been a lot of false alarms and trips to the hospital 🏥

But yesterday was different and at 3:39am on May the 7th our new son was born...

Interestingly enough....We havent chosen a name for him yet and the reason why follows...

My wife started getting complications immediately after delivery and for the better part of a the day, doctors around the hospital debated on how best to treat her.

Emergency 🚨 Surgery was the answer....

This pregnancy went full term! Everything went according to plan. How could this happen???

Would my wife be ok?

The feeling of absolute helplessness overwhelming took me over on a day that started with such joy.

I’m writing this on my phone via Partiko to let you know that my wife is recovering and is expected to be 100% soon enough.

But what a scare...

I can’t compliment the health care professionals here enough at the hospital that took care of my son and my wife.

Even if this was my third experience with a child being born...It was the scariest by far.

Apologies if I’m not posting like I usually do over the next few days. And apologies for any typos. Writing a blog post on my phone is hard lol

Baby is healthy! Mama is on the mend! Thank God!

Damn Jon - that must have been some long hours in the hospital!!! I'm so glad Baby is healthy and Mum is getting better - hope you're enjoying your extended family and take some time to care and reflect.

First great that your wife is on the mend. It is one of the best part of living in Alberta is the great health care. Congrats to you both on the birth of the baby. Take care of the wife and the baby and the one at home as well. Steem will still be here waiting for you. Family is first Steem will survive till you return. Now try and get some sleep when you can.
