Market Friday and the Garden Market

![MF20.JPG](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmXbUcN34JNZhFHQThacBeF1Bs9hSmZHzJW321pu1WDRRK)

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on steemit. I have been pleasured by all of you, as you send in the most wonderful posts. Going places, doing things, buying merchandise. I have been surprised by many, not being familiar with the culture and I must say that it has been such an educational experience for me in so many ways and I hope for you also. This week, I am back at the flower market, but, this time, we will be shopping on the inside of their shop.

Are you ready to shop a bit?

MF19.JPG

This is one of my most favorite places to shop or poke around in, especially if I have a moment or three to give in this guilty pleasure. I could call it a holiday shop because you can get Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Valentines Day decorations, but, it is so much more than that. And then some. Follow me! We'll meander a bit!

MF10.JPG

They had a variety of different kinds of stones and ornaments for your garden or even for a pot of flowers. They had delightful little excerpts on them. Someone gifted me with one that said worm farm as my last name was Wigle... They thought it was rather cute. It kind of was.

**

Please leave the link to your post on here so it can easily be found by others. It helps you and me to have them in one place. Where else can you take such a quick trip around the globe? Thank you so much for joining us!! ❤

Artificial flowers and wreaths are offered in a wide selection or they can make anything you want. I have used them before to make a wreath and they are remarkable artists in their work. They also showed me how to do a few things so I can make my own. As I said last #MarketFriday, it is family owned and operated and they go the extra mile for their customers.

The garden gnomes were out in numbers, but, a meditating gnome... Hmmmm! That was unique. I have just the place for it! Although I promised myself, I couldn't buy anything for the garden, unless I took a piece out. And chances are, he will be here for a little while and I can think about it. Come on! Tell the truth! Isn't he a little cute?

STOP!! BRAIN TEASER AHEAD!!

Question: What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years?

Answer: The letter M.

This little area here is equipped with a big screen(relatively) chairs and a couch, plus, pictures of fish and other kinds of manly things. This is where the men come to hang out and bond if their little woman stays too long. They have a popcorn machine that runs all the time, samples of wine, home-baked cookies and usually juice to drink. They do it as a courtesy. That's right. It's free! You gotta keep those men happy too!

I love my wind chimes. They sound like church bells, reminding me of my childhood, where I could hear the church bells alerting the parishioners that Church would begin in fifteen minutes. Long story - short... my wind chimes broke over the winter. I have never taken them in for the season and they finally rebelled and upped and died on me. So I need to look a little closer and play some melodies on them to see which one I want.

Novelty pillows were all over and some had embroidered animals or flowers on them, others had something silly written on them. But, it was a huge selling item. To go with the theme, there were paintings to tie everything all together. I know that there is nothing exceptionally special here, although some of the things could be fun, but, there are times where just wandering around looking at things and talking to people gives me a refreshed outlook on life.

MF12.JPG

Ribbons and ribbons and ribbons again. There was a boatload of ribbon offered up. Every color, width, and decoration on it.

MF18.JPG

Definitely a place to look at the offerings of a clock, from fancy to downright practical to upscale clocks and timepieces that would make Gucci proud. And the lamps! Did I forget to mention the lamps of all styles and shapes?

MF23.JPG

*

There were lotions and potions and all sorts of beauty to be had there. Perhaps, I will be beautiful another day. No time to fool around today!*

A flower. There must be flowers. Always and forever, a flower to color my day.

And just like that, my shopping is done. Until next time! I hope you had fun and maybe next time, we will get a few more plants to fill in the spaces. As always, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit #MarketFriday!! Have a most fabulous day!

I have been discovering new places, some right in my own area! This week, I discovered a new farmers market that will be a walkable distance! I find that super exciting! I love to share and be shared with! I am intrigued by different cultures. It is exciting and yes! I would love to see yours! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery store, the local marketplace or even an art gallery, a kite festival or a cherry blossom festival! Wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Be different if you wish! It does not have to be a traditional market! We will love it! I promise you! Don't forget to use the hashtag #MarketFriday and @dswigle.

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post again and again, I am encouraged by you, for the time you take to visit, comment or even upvote. For all of these reasons, I am eternally grateful. Don't ever forget what a wonderful world we live in, people. Let's hold hands around the globe and make this earth really spin. Some days, it is not as easy to see, how wonderful it really is. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire i cried the way women on tv do folding at the middle like a five pound note. i called the boy who use to love me tried to ‘okay’ my voice i said hello he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying, and these are what my prayers look like; dear god i come from two countries one is thirsty the other is on fire both need water.

later that night i held an atlas in my lap ran my fingers across the whole world and whispered, "where does it hurt?" it answered,

"everywhere" "everywhere" "everywhere"

It's so fun to read your post, the flamingo would look great in our garden.

  • @abitcoinskeptic(75)· 2678d

That's a nice little shop, those are my favorite. I don't really like rock decorations though, too similar to tombstones in my opinion.

Wow. The poem. The feels 💕

Who is the poet? I wish to read more of his or her works!! ((:

I absolutely love the meditating gnome. I need one for my desk to remind me to calm down when I read or hear something upsetting.

I would have guessed this to be a shop you would find interesting. Thumbs up on the garden gnome.

  • @bluemoon(78)· 2679d

A post for collection and school, so it seems to me. The flower market is the most beautiful market. I prefer the outside market, I prefer to give money on something alive even though it's not always about perennials.

I have made a market of memories, I hope not to bother some repetitions. You'll understand why. Shopping From Memory ... Holiday Pleasures

Hello everyone, I almost forgot that today is MarketFriday but thank God I saw Steemians posting about it and here I am with my entry MarketFriday Goes To The Flower Market.

I see you went to the garden market again this week 😀 that's a picket burner for sure :) I would definitely buy a stone for myself, those look great. I also love the wooden furniture, which is a beauty. You can't find those these days or if you do, you pay a fortune for it. I wanted to buy a wind chime but it looks like it's never going to happen as there's no place for that. My dad is not a big fan of wind chimes and I can't put it on the balcony. I was in a shop a couple of month ago and was looking at a few, very nice ones. Walking around I hit one with my head and the whole row started to sing 😀 I also see some beauty products there which of course could be interesting, you know ...

  • @tali72(69)· 2679d

wonderful original store! such a variety of goods !!!there you can really wander around for hours and see what they offer. it is so cute that they have free treats for men. men usually get bored until their wives decide what to buy :) I liked the pillows :) such things will definitely make the house more comfortable. your riddle is too complicated for me :) https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@tali72/marketfriday-swarovski-shop-cbd5d35ae3c3b

  • @zirochka(79)· 2679d

Absolutely adorable place! And amazing flower, as always! )) When I lived in my home town, my work place was close to my home, and I used to walk to and from through the city center. There is one special shop there, where I just love to come and check what do they have. Everything was so lovely, decoration, jewelry, souvenirs, gifts for any occasion. I cannot buy anything as it was too expensive for me, but what I got every time was a feeling of a magic world inside of it :)

Thank you so much for an amazing post and reviving my memories!

I wonder, don't they mind you take photographs?

  • @rossfletcher(77)· 2679d

Fuchsias are one of my favorites from when i was little. My sister and i loved pinching the ones that were just about to open and they would pop open. We thought it was such fun : ) I don't do it anymore as it seems a little rough.

  • @trudeehunter(72)· 2679d

Your Garden Market seems to have something for everyone and a gift for every occasion @dswigle. What a wonderful place to immerse oneself ........providing they have a minute or 40 to spare. 😊

But I love, love, love that fuchsia flower image my friend. Sooooooo exquisite and beautifully captured. (U & R )

  • @manoldonchev(74)· 2679d

That meditating gnome is awesome! Wanna do something like that. At least draw it...if I can.

  • @old-guy-photos(77)· 2679d

Well I would like to know what the straight spiked leaf plant is where the big screen is. They sell them at the bait shop. Like a load of them. I never took the time to ask, but always was curious about them. That is the only plant they sell. They actually seem to breed them as they have them along every window in water.

I always love to see their decorating ideas they have there. They really do it up for Christmas I know! I like the "Home is where the boat is docked" one! ;) Great post as always Sunshine!

  • @reddragonfly(66)· 2679d

Looks like a pretty interesting place! I have always enjoyed garden/gift shops that carry all sorts of interesting bits and pieces... including a share of "kitsch;" we have a few like it in our area.

I was joking on Twitter that it was Flamingo week on steemit. Glad to see you got the memo. LOL. Okay let me get this straight. Your garden shop gives out free wine, juice, and cookies. It's not a store. I think you stumbled into a gateway to Narnia. Shhh ... tell no one where it is, except me:)Oh and get the gnome, he will probably come back to life and give you winning lotto numbers:):):)

Just a lovely post and place:) I thoroughly enjoyed it:)
