Monochrome Monday goes Colorful

beach 2.jpg

Oh, to wear the monochrome on the beach, do you think it takes away from the beauty of the vision? The colors as they roll in, off the distant horizon?

The emotional association of coloring ones worlds perchance? In so many ways, it adds to the peace of the moment, don't you think? I breathe. Then breathe again. Oh, yes. I can feel its calm.

*My favorite tree. I know I take you by here almost every day when I am walking

This post is dedicated to #MonochromeMonday with @Old-Guy-Photos. Time to put them up!*

My fascination with flowers is probably the worst kept secret. Well, of course, after my favorite tree. Being the first, mayhap. There is just something about them, their voices heard, like a soft whisper in my head. Oh, my lovely blooms, how do I love thee? Am I really able to count the ways?

image.png

Wrap your love up with a big red bow, hug me 'til the end of time.

Will you be mine? Will you be mine?

image.png

Who could deny that fate brought you together 'til the end of time? Your beauty displayed as you unfurl your bud, for all to see, for all to admire. As it should be. Always and forever.

There can be no such thing as redundancy when speaking about beauty. How can there ever be too much? Let's make this picture all about #MondayRed #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra. Because for all practical purposes, she colors my world. Every. Single. Day.

The softest of whispers. The gentle rain. The sudden stillness of my heart. The sweetest dreams come from days like this, as I am tenderly caressed by life.

Just like that, these words are done. Happy #MonochromeMonday to all as we start into another beautiful week! Keep on Steemin!

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire i cried the way women on tv do folding at the middle like a five pound note. i called the boy who use to love me tried to ‘okay’ my voice i said hello he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying, and these are what my prayers look like; dear god i come from two countries one is thirsty the other is on fire both need water.

later that night i held an atlas in my lap ran my fingers across the whole world and whispered, "where does it hurt?" it answered,

"everywhere" "everywhere" "everywhere"

Those lights would fade away into colour. In b&w you are drawn into the search. What is the light without dark to contrast with? But I do LOVE your always brilliant and alive colour too Denise. Those roses are simply stunning. Been a while since I've left a !tip anywhere. I'm hoping to finally have something for your market this week. Have a beautiful week. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

I love those clouds in the monochrome!

And of course the tree and flowers. I'm going to go walk by my favorite trees and sit under them now : )

The sun has gone to sleep. Mysterious creatures rise on the horizon. It's time to hear a scary story... :-))

  • @papilloncharity(83)· 2564d

A most beautiful post indeed Lady Denise. One can sense your tender love for mother nature. That black and white shot also holds its own mystery. Blessings!

    @dswigle,

Oh, to wear the monochrome on the beach, do you think it takes away from the beauty of the vision? The colors as they roll in, off the distant horizon?

There's something about Black & White that reduces pictures to their "essence." As a result, the picture becomes philosophical, causing one to ponder some deeper meaning. In this way, it is much like poetry. Stripped of the verbosity of prose, one is left to ponder the core of meaning.

That said, color provides the magic of life, an explosion of emotion.

Both ways of seeing the same thing is worthy in its own right. Juxtaposition often provides a depth of insight that would otherwise be absent.

My fascination with flowers is probably the worst kept secret.

You are a woman prone to understatement. :-)

    Lovely pictures, all.

You know how much I always loved your flowers! Nevertheless, the monochrome beach is so beautiful and calming, with black silhouettes and sparkling water. Stunning shot! No to forget your new selfie, wow! Such a lovely look with that golden hair. You even look little bit shy 😍

  • @dmcamera(62)· 2564d

Love your poetry. That tree looks rather daunting - as if it is going to fall on me. Help!

  • @brittandjosie(76)· 2564d

I love the mono twist of the blog

  • @whatisnew(66)· 2564d

I am not a fan of monochrome but this photo is stunning. And that awesome tree would be my favorite as well. Beautiful buds too! : )

  • @zekepickleman(79)· 2564d

Oh my you come up with some beautiful pictures :-)

  • @old-guy-photos(77)· 2564d

You always find the best pics for MM. I am so happy to see you jump in!! As much as I love color and I really do, I think sometimes mono allows my brain to slow down and absorb the nuances of the scene. I contrasty ones like yours always work nicely!
