Today we're going to do a short review of chapter 2 of Record of Ragnarok (Shūmatsu no Valkyrie).
First, let me remind you a bit about the story of chapter 1: Brunilda convinced the gods not to annihilate humanity and instead face them in a brutal competition. The gods scoffed, saying it was completely illogical, since they are all-powerful beings while humans are an unnecessary ugliness. But Brunhilde touched their pride, telling them that their refusal stemmed from fear. So they accepted the challenge: 13 gods against 13 humans, with the first to win seven battles declared the ultimate victors (if the gods win, they exterminate humanity; if the humans win, they live for another 1,000 years).
Brunhilde has a deep affection for humanity and knows that earthly weapons wouldn't even scratch a god. That's why she enlists the help of her Valkyrie sisters to perform the Völundr technique: each Valkyrie merges her soul with the body of a human warrior, transforming into a powerful divine weapon capable of killing gods. Brunhilde carefully selected the 13 strongest and most indomitable humans in all of world history to face this war.
The gods agreed, and the first fight was between the human Lü Bu and the god Thor.
🐎 Lü Bu: In real life, he was a legendary general and warrior from ancient China, feared by all for being a monster on the battlefield whom no one could defeat. He was chosen because he was considered the human with the most destructive and savage physical strength in history.
⚡ Thor: He is the god of thunder from Norse mythology, known as the strongest warrior among the Norse gods. He possesses immense physical power and wields his legendary giant hammer, Mjölnir.
Once in the arena, the clash was absolutely incredible 💥. The Valkyrie Randgriz joined forces with Lü Bu, becoming his unstoppable halberd. Lü Bu surprised all the gods, proving he could withstand Thor's attacks and even draw blood from the thunder god. The fight was extremely bloody and evenly matched for a moment, but in the end, Thor awakened the true power of his hammer and, after a brutal clash of final blows, Thor emerged victorious, ending Lü Bu's life.
Brunhilde silently felt terrible, as Lü Bu's death also meant the death of her beloved sister Randgriz, whose spirit was forever destroyed in the process.
And so we conclude this first battle between gods and humans, with the gods emerging victorious. It was a super exciting start! We'll see how everything unfolds and what surprises await us in the next chapter. We'll see you again soon.

Hoy vamos a realizar una pequeña reseña del capítulo 2 de Record of Ragnarok (Shūmatsu no Valkyrie).
Primero, les recuerdo un poco la historia del capítulo 1: Brunilda convenció a los dioses para que no aniquilaran a los humanos y se enfrentaran a ellos en una brutal competencia. Los dioses se burlaban diciendo que eso era totalmente ilógico, ya que ellos son seres todopoderosos mientras que los humanos son una fealdad innecesaria. Pero Brunilda los tocó en el orgullo diciéndoles que si no aceptaban era porque tenían miedo. Así aceptaron el reto: 13 dioses contra 13 humanos, y los primeros en ganar 7 batallas serían los ganadores definitivos (si ganan los dioses, exterminan a la humanidad; si ganan los humanos, vivirán 1,000 años más).
Brunilda siente un gran afecto por la humanidad y sabe que las armas terrenales no le harían ni un rasguño a un dios. Por eso pide ayuda a sus hermanas valquirias para realizar la técnica del Völundr: cada valquiria une su alma al cuerpo de un guerrero humano, transformándose en una poderosa arma divina capaz de matar a los dioses. Brunilda escogió cuidadosamente a los 13 humanos más fuertes e indomables de toda la historia mundial para estar a la altura de esta guerra.
Los dioses aceptaron y la primera pelea fue entre el humano Lü Bu contra el dios Thor.
🐎 Lü Bu: En la vida real fue un legendario general y guerrero de la antigua China, temido por todos por ser un monstruo en el campo de batalla al que nadie podía derrotar. Se escogió a él porque era considerado el humano con la fuerza física más destructiva y salvaje de la historia.
⚡ Thor: Es el dios del trueno de la mitología nórdica, conocido como el guerrero más fuerte entre los dioses nórdicos. Posee un poder físico descomunal y porta su legendario martillo gigante, el Mjölnir.
Una vez en la arena, el choque fue totalmente increíble 💥. La valquiria Randgriz se unió a Lü Bu convirtiéndose en su imparable alabarda. Lü Bu sorprendió a todos los dioses demostrando que podía resistir los ataques de Thor e incluso hacer sangrar al dios del trueno. La pelea fue extremadamente sangrienta y pareja por un momento, pero al final Thor despierta el verdadero poder de su martillo y, tras un choque brutal de ataques finales, Thor resulta el ganador, acabando con la vida de Lü Bu.
Brunilda se siente terriblemente mal en silencio, ya que la muerte de Lü Bu significó también la muerte de su querida hermana Randgriz, cuyo espíritu se destruyó para siempre en el proceso 💔.
