My First Experience with Holo Swarm Alpha! 🎮✨
Introducing Myself and My First Steps in the Gaming Community Hello, everyone in the Hive Gaming community! 👋❤️ My name is Isamar; I’m from Venezuela 🇻🇪 and I’m currently living in Chile 🇨🇱. This is the first time I’ve dared to post this kind of content about video games, so I’m super excited (and a little nervous!).
As a mom to a baby and a toddler, my household responsibilities take up a big part of my day 👶👧. For that reason, until now my activity on Hive has mainly consisted of reading other creators’ posts and showing my support by liking (voting) them.
Little by little, I’m starting to understand how the different communities work and everything this wonderful platform offers to those of us who want to write, share a little piece of our story, and have a good time.
🐾 My Introduction to Holo Swarm Thanks to @angeluxx
It all started when I was reading a post by our fellow creator @angeluxx, titled “First Steps in Holo Swarm Alpha: Mission, Rewards, and My First Defeats.” In his post, I saw the link to the game; it really piqued my curiosity, so I said, “Why not give it a try?” I’ll admit I didn’t understand almost anything at first 😂, but I took the plunge anyway. When I started, I was given a creature that runs by your side and defends you as you travel on a sort of flying glider. It immediately reminded me of the movie The Golden Compass, where each person has an animal (daimon) that’s part of their being and always accompanies them.
That’s exactly how it feels in the game! Your creature attacks enemies while you support it by moving, dodging, healing it, and collecting resources.
💥 My first attempts:
Defeats, laughs, and lessons learned! The game assigned my companion, a Wrackoo, its starting stats:
Health (HP): 219 (Epic)
Attack: 113 (Rare)
Agility: 100 (Uncommon)
Defense: 112 (Rare)
With those numbers, I felt ready for anything! But reality turned out differently... 😅
Attempt 1:
Everything was going great until Wave 4, when some enemy ice spikes dealt me a -84 HP hit and I went “knocked out.” First quick defeat!
Attempt 2:
I came back with even more determination and this time made it to wave 6. Although an “Elite Scratch” defeated me (-92 HP), I managed to take down 31 enemies, deal 8,626 damage, and earn 2 loot chests! 🎒✨ When I opened the chests, I received copper, petals, and holographic dust, plus experience points for my healer, Fern.
Break for family and daily life—I really wanted to keep playing and learn to master the controls (WASD to move, Spacebar to dodge, E to heal, and R to rejuvenate). However, I had to take a mandatory break: the night was getting late, I needed rest, and my babies required my full attention 🤱.
I’m sharing some screenshots of the interface and my defeats, along with a short video I recorded so you can see how entertaining the game looks.
I hope you have as much fun watching it as I did playing it! A shout-out to the Hive Gaming community: Since I’m new to creating this kind of content and exploring the gaming world on Hive, I’d love to read your comments and suggestions:
What tips can you give me to keep my creature from dying so quickly in the first waves?
How do you manage healing and movement when the screen is filled with enemies?
A huge hug from Chile to all Venezuelan Hivers and Hivers around the world! I’ll keep posting here.
Soucer

🐾 Mi introducción a Holo Swarm gracias a @angeluxx
💥 Mis primeros intentos: ¡Derrotas, risas y lecciones aprendidas!
